The weekend is over and it’s time for the first workout of the week. Well, we did just that at an outdoor gym in Tel Aviv, with our William being joined by Estonia’s very own Jüri Pootsmann. Jüri is one of the 21 Eurovision 2016 acts set to take part in Israel Calling in Tel Aviv, so we had to head to the beach and take in the sights along with him.
Jüri Pootsmann in Tel Aviv – Interview
It’s not surprising to see that Jüri is obviously in great shape, as he pumps those legs throughout the interview. Jüri assures us though that he “really (hasn’t) worked out — ever”, whilst also revealing that he was a chubby baby when he was born. Clearly he’s grown up big and strong since then.
Jüri also tells us more about his past experience singing in a choir with his soprano voice, before his voice broke and that all changed: “I’m glad that it happened, because I’d still be singing with the girls in the choir”.
Watch: Jüri Pootsmann sings “Play” at Eurovision in Concert
On the topic of the Eurovision pre-contest tour so far, Jüri talks about how Eurovision in Concert was “emotional” with so many fans cheering him on. That attention is different to in his native Estonia, where Jüri says he’s more used to fans “looking and talking quietly” when he’s spotted out and about. Let’s see if that changes any more after Eurovision itself.
@Redfox
Sergey is a perfect stage performer, but Yuri is not. 🙂
@ Andrey: Sergey is not that special either. If you row up all the similar voices, you will not be able to tell him apart. Besides, you can buy a voice like that from the supermarket just like you can buy tanks, isnt it.
Definitely he’s not better than Sergey. Sorry for Estonia.
he was a soprano?! talk about puberty!
he makes horse sounds. LOL
Estonia is in my Top 3 I really hope it’s qualifies if it was in Semi Final 2 it would be a dead certain qualifier but it’s in Semi Final 1 and it’s harder so it’s boarder line qualifier.
He’s such a cutie.
