Francesca Michielin kept the enchanted garden staging for her song “No Degree of Separation”, but added a water feature in the form of a watery floor graphic, that surrounded Francesca as she stood on her little grassy island.
The staging was largely the same as what we saw in her first rehearsal, with Francesca performing in an enchanted garden, surrounded by a collection of weird and wonderful objects.
Her costume had changed from the rehearsal, with Francesca now wearing a black broderie anglaise jumpsuit instead of the overalls she had previously worn.
Her microphone stand was also adorned with colourful ribbons, just like the rainbow ribbons worn by some Sanremo artists as part of the #SanremoArcobaleno (Sanremo Rainbow) campaign, in support of LGBT rights.
The on-screen squiggles remained part of the performance, with a few also appearing in the graphics on the LED wall for the live audience as well.

how can I dislike this one?
without emotion -.-
The song is not so bad, although it is a little boring. But the staging is childish and laughable. It’s kitsch. That act is more suitable for Junior Eurovision, although she looks like an evil girl.
I love that Francesca still have rainbow ribbons on her microphone stand, just like during Sanremo Festival. Our Parliament was discussing civil partnerships for the first time in history (you know, our Italy is Catholic-Integralist country…) in February and most of the artists in Sanremo chose to show their support to LGBT rights.
We’ll have final voting for this law this week, probably on friday, there could be an important historical moment in Italy, and Francesca is still supporting the cause. . A great message to all their italian fans… and for Europe 🙂

She doesn’t dress up. At Sanremo she wore dresses a couple rounds, but that was more to out of respect for the event. She is basically jeans and a nice plain top when she tours. For events she has to dress up for, it will most likely be something mid-calf or above. There have been very few times I’ve seen her in something full length.
She should go back to her first outfit.
Why is this in the bets Top 10? As always Italy is very overrated. ‘No degree of separation’ is an ok song, sung by an ok singer, no more. And the staging? Is it a joke? This should be bottom 5 or 10 in the final.

According to news coming from Stockholm, Italy was the only Big 5 to get an applause in the press room today.
I am going to have eurovision party in my house on saturday with lots of froots and vegetables, vegetable pizza and vegetable soup, does that mean celebration for one of my favourites winning, its a damn contest winning is not guaranteed it never was, but good luck anyway
Staging may not look good in these videos but we will have to wait and she through the cameras on Saturday, anyway its not stage contest its song contest this song delivers great message, Last year Italian song had music that was bigger than the message this year the message (the lyrics) is bigger than the music, but still musicwise its contemporary contender, very eurovisionary and it fits well with the message they are trying to deliver. Francesca looks nervous before starting to sing the song in the rehearsing video hope she gets plenty of rest and all ready to… Read more »
Are there carrots and melons flying up the screen? Oh gosh! Tacky tacky tacky! This is exactly what people expect for a good laugh at with friends at euro home parties! Anyway… Otherwise this song would be soooo boring! Right for the wee time. Far from the quality songs by Mengano and Zilli… what is more, flowers, stars and blue… all topics in one!
What a beautiful song, great performance. So so staging, though.
I love this song and i love francesca, but i really envisioned this diferently. It’s way too kindergarden….. The last move with the turnip is especially bad. I really hope they at least have a lot of close ups because she’s super cute and you can really see the emotion when she sings. Plus it’ll will distract from the mess in the back. Still, i thought this was slightly better than the first one (maybe that’s because we could only see about 30 seconds of the first one), with less weird plastic stuff on stage. Her movements also seemed more… Read more »
Simply the best rehearsal today.
While she sings wonderfully and I really love the song, the staging ist just… not what I expected. The background is beautiful, and I can imagine that the Doodles look nice on camera, but these cheap-looking items on stage just have to disappear.
