They’re two countries that haven’t always got in in terms of Eurovision. But with OGAE Armenia revealing their votes for the OGAE Poll 2017, they have surprisingly given four points to their eastern neighbour, Azerbaijan. It seems that Dihaj’s “Skeletons” know no borders!
Also revealing their votes was OGAE Slovakia. Like a lot of other counties, their 12 points went to Italy, with Francesco Gabbani continuing to rack up the points. But Slovakia gave their ten points to Bulgaria. It’s the highest score that Kristian Kostov has received so far in the OGAE Poll 2017. Slovakia was also generous to Norway, giving JOWST five points and putting them on the scoreboard.
OGAE Armenia gave their 12 points to France‘s Alma, and only gave frontrunner Italy seven points. They gave Portugal its highest individual score so far with six points, they continued the love for Norway with two points, and they put Georgia on the scoreboard with one point.
The big surprise came with Armenia giving Azerbaijan four points, doubling its overall score. The two countries have typically avoided each other at Eurovision, with political tensions overcoming any appreciation of the other’s music.
But it seems that Dihaj’s electro pop banger “Skeletons” has brought its boney goodness over to its neighbours and made an impact. The question remains — will OGAE Azerbaijan return the favourite to Armenia’s electro pop track when their votes are revealed later?

This article smells peace, love it. It is irrelevant to this article , sorry in advance ,but i need to get some advices from Armenian fans. Next month my girlfriend and I will be travelling to Tbilisi for vacation. We wanted to see Erivan as well-and staying one night in Vanadzor. As we are Turks I wanna know if those cities are safe and do we confront any problems passing through customs?
So surprised to read here about my city,I am from Vanadzor, people here are very calm, you will also like the weather ,so you are very very welcome
Dear Adrine, thank you for your kind welcoming talks. I am also very excited to visit there, is it safe and appropriate for Turks? Are there any patriotic bad situations happened there? Have you ever heard or witnessed?
No, I never heard actualy, I do not think you will have any problems. If you decide to come I can mention some really great places in Vanadzot
France got 12 points! This is amazing!
Armenia, Montenegro, Georgia, really? Last year those countries were great, I still listen to Iveta and the Young Georgian Lolitaz, they were amazing. But this year those countries sucks. Only 1 point for UK? Where the hell are any points for Latvia, Poland, Netherlands or even Ireland, Spain and Serbia? Are you telling me this is better?
Oh, just leave it, I don’t take this polls seriously, it serves me just as an insight into rough consensus of these particular groups 🙂
so Azerbaijan is our confirmed winner for 2017, Armenia never gives points to them, so they have bribed certain countries again lol
But Azerbaijan never gives points to Armenia…something is fishy here.
@William Lee Adams: Guys, I really think you should do a better job at moderating your forums. It’s incredible the number of insults, personal attacks and racism I read here everyday, and no one seem to care.

I miss Turkey in the contest really after seing all the countries which never votes for their “enemies” Turkey was really polite and modern. In 2005 Turkey gave 12 points to Greece in 2007 Turkey gave 12 points to Armenia. Turkey gave Armenia every year the highest points ( funny fact is that Armenia was more successful in ESC when Turkey was participating, after Turkey left the contest Armenia also lost their amazing always being on Top 10 positions”.) Miss Turkey really in the contest.
Actually, ever since the introduction of the jury vote, Turkish juries gave Armenia 0 points every single year. And, Armenia went through a dark phase from 2011-2013, but that has hardly anything to do with Turkey being in or out of the contest. They came back strong in 2014 and have continued to be a strong presence.
Armenia also gave points to Azerbaijan and Turkey back in 2009.So it’s normal it’s not about politic, but I see how azeries still trying to fight with their comments .
And French entery is so beloved in Armenia as well last year.
I still don’t understand why my favourite Serbia has 0 points it’s MADNESS
Btw I’m from the UK
So Azeri suckpuppets managed to hack the Armenian vote 😉
Hi, can you please add the countries without points to the list? It gives a better view on everything 🙂
Armenia giving points to Azerbaijan is commendable. It definitely is also a statement directed to Ukraine and Russia, who could not find at least a temporary resolution of their differences in the name of music. What I am interested to see is if this will also translate in real votes–from Armenian jury or public to Azarbaijan… if it does not, it really is a meaningful gesture–more like teasing than a genuine attempt to bury the machette.
Well, Azerbaijan is the one who’s land is stolen. So it would not be surprising that Armenia plays the peaceful card at this stage. But still it’s brave of them giving the fact that Azerbaijan is always last with both televoting and juries in real contest.
Go and read history, even Coca Cola is older than azerbaijan. And who is talking about stolen lands. Everyone in this page marks patriotism of armenians, you guys always close your eyes on such people.
Armenian territories are old Azeri territories, which were given to them by Russians. So,go and pray for Russians.Armenia doesn’t have any territory or culture;symbol of Armenian mother is Kim Kardashian.
@Qarabag behave yourself! ._.
I wonder if you read the Kars and Moscow agreements of 1921. If you read, you will see how Bolsheviks gave Karabagh and Nakhijevan to Azerbaijan, as well as many other Armenian territories to Turkey. And it happened less than a century ago. Why did Turkey and Azerbaijan got scared when last year Russia declared it may not prolong the agreement? Remember that every 50 years this agreement is subject to prolongation.
“even Coca Cola is older than azerbaijan.”
That’s NOT nice thing to say! This place also has visitors from Azerbaijan and they might find these words offensive. Please, think twice before you write something.
Ok, dear Roxana
the words “Azerbaijan is the one who’s land is stolen” (FALSE) are even more offensive for armenians. That was only the answer of his words.
I repeat you close your eyes on azeris words!!!
@Roxana, sorry, I didn’t notice you reproved @Qarabag too.
Drink coca cola and stop barking as a dog
See!! azeri is mooing
The Armenians OGAYs are messy lmao and they’re wrong for giving nothing to Estonia.
Dear lord, you’re pathetic.
Dear lard, you’re obsessed with me. I blocked you on YouTube, go away lol
This year Ukraine and Russia got all the attention on them it’s time for other enemies to pretend to be a good friends that they might secure some votes from eachother which in the end will turn out to be no points exchanged between them
I have to say, given the whole Russia vs. Ukraine scandal, Armenia giving Azerbaijan 4 points put a huge smile on my face because it shows that despite everything that’s going on, there is a possibility for music to stand above politics. Well done, OGAE Armenia!
Oh and 4 points, that’s half of what Azerbaijan has so far! hahahaha
Congratulations Armenia for giving Azerbaijan 4 points! It’s a first step in the feud ending!
Being a fan of the ESC since 2000, i could say that i know euroVISION even better than myself. I capslocked vision, because a huge part of the final positions will be influenced by the staging of the songs. So i could certainly claim that this poll is an absolute garbage at predicting the final results. As with every year some of the OGAE top 10 do not even make it to the finals. One of them, according to my opinion, is Israel. Furthermore, like it happened many times in the past, songs with 0 points in the OGAE poll… Read more »
Armenia seems to be more open-minded than Azerbaijan. Even after having its soldiers captivated by Azerbaijani special forces, it has voted in Azerbaijan’s favour. They also gave 1 point to Azerbaijan and 4 points to Turkey in ESC 2009.
Well done, Armenia. I really admire you. Hope, Azerbaijan will do the same and not ask people in for questioning for voting for Armenia instead, as its investigative services did in 2009.
But what’s the reason Armenia always votes for France?
France have a huge Armenian diaspora, and so have given Armenia lots of points throughout the years. With the increased quality of French entries recently, maybe Armenia feels the need to repay the favour?
Last year French song was one of the best ,this year even better, everyone admires Alma, what is the problem?
Thanks of a very strong diaspora, a very old friendship and a long history between our countries. Politically excellent relationship. A strong bond.
dont forget that Turkey gave every year Armenia points. and in 2007 even 12
True. I remember that. Seems Turkey always loved their songs.
Armenia always votes for France for some unknown reason.
The reason is one, french entries of 2016 and 2017 are amazing !!!
Why do Slovakia even have a voting? They aren’t competing so their opinion shouldn’t even matter. Same with Luxemburg and Turkey, it’s not relevant
Why is not relevant? They are less Eurovision fans than you just because they live in countries that don’t participate or what?
@AG Agree with you..
Merci Arménie pour les 12 points de la France, beaucoup d’amour <3 If Artsvik passes the final we will be here for her :3
hello everybody my name is ay jo and I’m a pathetic dumb@ss, sorry
ha ha ha, nice to meet you ))))))))))))))))))
you have nothing better to do than denigrate France’s entry?, again a no-life child and blatant jealousy booooooo go to hide you poor child
Denigrate France? Oh mamma mia 😀
You made my day! I did not know that in the 21st century there are the rarest species like you. hahahaha)))))))))))))))))))
WHA A STUPID PERSON YOU ARE…… mamma mia!! wiwibloggs should not allowed childish person like you,
just ridiculous, no arguments just pure stupidity, very interesting…..
…erm, you are so sweet hahaha)))))
Congrats, Armenia! I admired both Artsvik and Dihaj both standing next to each other in Amsterdam, on the artists presentation on those stairs! I love both of their songs and I admire both countries. No more feud, please!
UK, Finland and Austria getting no points again my top 3 this year are so underrated, I can see them all in top 15 this year and I think they are potential dark horses
I know Finland has been getting points which I’m happy about but its not as many as they should be getting they should be at least getting 8 points from all OGAE groups as its a masterpeice
Dear lord you’re pathetic. “Boohoo everything I like is perfect and only my opinion matters, boohooo anyone that disagrees is an idiot cause only my opinion is right, boohoo.” Narcisistic idiot.
I remember when Turkey gave Armenia 12 points, and Armenia used to normally give Turkey and Azerbaijan points! I’m proud that my country cares more about music than politics 🙂
To be fair, Turkey was a lot less political about ESC in relation to Armenia than Azerbaijan is today. History aside, Turkey and Armenia aren’t actively feuding, whereas there is genuine unrest between Armenia and Azerbaijan regarding Norgano-Karabakh that persists today. They’ve called a ceasefire rather than an official peace. It why Armenia didn’t do ESC 2012.
Turkey is very political as far as Israel is concerned….
@PP, Last year Iveta was 14th at the tele-voting, if she was 10th, she would get 1 point from Azerbaijan. And it was herself who ruined her chances of getting votes in the Grand Final…
Anyway, for me Artsvik is 10 times better, has a more original composition than Iveta.
Agree
But France does not deserve those 12 points.
why please? you are better than everybody to know who deserve points or not? shut up jealous person , France deserves largely this 12 points, stupid hater
Oh, calm down. You are being childish and ridiculous. I do not hate anybody. I am talking about France`s song. Armenia`s song and singer is far better than “Requiem”. If you are not open-minded to other`s opinions, you should educate yourself.
lol Artsvik will flop and you are just jealous about Alma’ s success , don’t talk to me of open minded because when you write that france doesn’t deserve this points you show you are not a tolerant person, person like you I contempt them
keep crying but ALMA SLAYS, that’s life you have to live with that and shut up
Armenia are responsible for 50% of Azerbaijan’s pts so far.
Let that sink in for a moment…
Sweden will win anyway!
Both Azerbaijan and Armenia have great entries this year. If their juries are being fair and objective then they shouldn’t give each other last place every year. I think one Armenian juror put Azerbaijan 19th out of 25 last year, even that was progress! I lnow there is a complicated history there, with right and wrong on both sides, but it would be nice of they could overlook politics for the sake of a song contest. =/
to be fair, Samra’s vocal performance didn’t merit high scores from any jury 😛
No points for Spain yet and I’m not even surprised… How many countries do still have to vote?
Again, these poll shows that it will be a battle between Belgium and Italy.
What a nice surprise! Armenia has taste.
Damn right
We all know that in semi and final, every year on last place with juries and televote in Azerbaijan will be Armenia and in Armenia will be Azerbaijan. And EBU allow this situation every year from 2008
That’s actually not true. Armenia gave points to Azerbaijan in 2008 (in the semi-final 2 points) and in the final of 2009 (1 point). It’s Azerbaijan who makes a big fuss about voting for the Armenian entries. Azerbaijan has absolutely politicized this contest and yet for whatever reason, people always keep saying Armenia and Azerbaijan should withdraw until their conflict is resolved. NO, Azerbaijan should either get it together or withdraw.
Thank God some people have sense. Don’t get the hype for Italy at all. France, Estonia and Bulgaria deserve it!
Italy just 7 points from Armenia. Haha
Is that supposed to be humorous? Um, okay, whatever.
France is so amazing, 4th place well deserved ! =D
It’s clear that there are favourites even if the ogae poll doesn’t predict the final top 10. Italy, Belgium and Sweden will be in top 10 for sure. I think that the other countries to be in top 10 will be : Bulgaria (top 3 for sure), Portugal, France, Denmark, Hungary, and Romania. I think Armenia, Estonia, Australia, Greece and Azerbaijan will be in the top 15.
Those countries go nuts without Mother Russia.
Now only Italy have received points from all OGAE clubs so far
wow, armenia you’re awesome!
EUROPE IS IN LOVE WITH ALMA !! GO FRANCE GO !!
