Eurovision You Decide UK 2018 acts

Brighton calling! The UK decides who will be their 2018 representative in Eurovision: You Decide 2018 on February 7. Once again, six acts will compete on the night with the hopes of going to Lisbon.

But to give you an idea of who to look our for, we’ve brought in our Wiwi Jury – our in-house panel of music unprofessionals? We’ll preview and review each of this year’s acts to help you inform your decision. We’re ready to pick our favourite for the UK!

Our jury for this edition consists of 16 jurors who come from Australia, Bulgaria, Georgia, Iceland, New Zealand, Portugal, Romania, Spain, the United States and of course, the United Kingdom itself. Each juror assesses each song independently, and awards each song a score from 0 to 10. Before calculating the Wiwi Jury verdict, we drop the highest and lowest scores to reduce potential bias and outliers.

We’ll be unrolling these one by one over the coming week. You can read the completed reviews by clicking on the song title.

Jaz is the entry I want, Asanda is the entry the UK needs. I’m just interested, after the UK selects, to see if Germany and Portugal opt to go upbeat or slow – both France and Spain are going in a slower direction.

I think you heard the wrong song for France!! Its mid-tempo in the least…some might put it in uptempo.

Ooh, true. It’s more midtempo. I guess I meant slower by comparison.
