It’s amazing that the ice is still frozen, as the competition really heated up on Sunday as Saara Aalto and her dance partner Hamish Gaman entered the quarter-final of Dancing on Ice. This week’s episode was themed ‘Time Tunnel’ and almost saw the Eurovision 2018 star dethroned from the competition.

This weekend’s Judges’ Challenge was the freestyle jump. This can be any style and combination which are then marked based on speed, height and distance covered over the ice.

Travelling back in time as Queen Elizabeth I of England, Saara and Hamish earned impressive 8s from all four judges. But unfortunately that left Saara bottom of the scoreboard with a total score of 32.0.

Judges’ scores (Week 8)

1. Wes Nelson and Vanessa Bauer – 38.5
2= James Jordan and Alexandra Schauman – 35.5
2= Melody Thornton and Alexander Demetriou – 35.5
3. Brian McFadden and Alex Murphy – 33.0
4. Saara Aalto and Hamish Gaman – 32.0

Dancing on Ice Skate Battle

For the first time on Dancing on Ice, all five celebrities competed in a Skate Battle group dance. A maximum 5 points could be won and once again Saara finished bottom with just 1 point.

  1. James Jordan and Alexandra Schauman – 5 points
  2. Wes Nelson and Vanessa Bauer – 4 points
  3. Melody Thornton and Alexander Demetriou – 3 points
  4. Brian McFadden and Alex Murphy – 2 points
  5. Saara Aalto and Hamish Gaman – 1 point

Combined scores

  1. Wes Nelson and Vanessa Bauer – 42.5
  2. James Jordan and Alexandra Schauman – 40.5
  3. Melody Thornton and Alexander Demetriou – 38.5
  4. Brian McFadden and Alex Murphy – 35.0
  5. Saara Aalto and Hamish Gaman – 33.0

Unsurprisingly after finishing bottom of both categories, Saara found herself in the skate-off with former Pussycat Dolls star Melody Thornton following the public vote. Fortunately after both skate-off performances, Jason, Ashley and Jayne chose to save Saara. Christopher — with the casting vote in the event of a tie — would’ve made it a clean sweep.

Hi, can you guys talk about Maruv’s Instagram/Facebook post explaining the details of her contract? What Ukraine’s broadcaster is doing needs to be exposed to as many people as possible.
