She really doesn’t need any introduction, does she?
Tamta has got the whole package when it comes to being an international superstar. The voice, the look and the personality! We got to talk to the charismatic representative for Cyprus Tamta, after she kicked off the first rehearsals in Tel Aviv.
Our William sat down with Tamta to talk about the choreography for her Eurovision performance, next week. As a performer, Tamta did a lot of things, including – of course – dancing. Admitting that she doesn’t think of herself as a good dancer, she adds that, during the first rehearsal, her heel kept sticking to the stage.
If only that sticky heel were her biggest problem.
The “Replay” singer hesitatingly opens up about having trouble with her body for while now. A back injury damaged nerves and muscles in her right leg, causing her lots of pain.
Explaining to William that she worked really hard on her body to be able to walk again, our girl is coming out fighting:
“I’m very proud that I’m finally on high heels dancing and moving”.
Even though her body is still recovering, she remains very optimistic. “I work hard, I never give up, I keep on dreaming and I am here, I am very proud!”. We love the determination. You’re a total rockstar, Tamta.
Dressed up in sticky leather, she and her background dancers experienced the the Eurovision stage for the first time. But isn’t that leather outfit uncomfortable to wear because of the stickiness?
“We do more complicated things to feel good and look beautiful”, Tamta laughs. Spoiler alert: the leather doesn’t stay on for too long!
When asked if she really is the strong and independent woman we see her as, she modestly states that she hates talking about herself. Tamta believes that artists are (kind of) actors too, in terms of having certain roles. When performing, she does not take on a different role, it just comes naturally! It all depends on the situation. That said, she wants people to see the strong woman in her. She is definitely our role-model!
Tamta will perform in the first semi-finals on the 14th of May, but she will also join our Wiwi Jam in the Theatre Club on May 15th!
What do you think? Will Tamta be the next Eurovision winner? Let us know in the comments below!
I’m happy she’s ok 🙂
She doesn’t have quite the figure of Eleni Foureira or Iveya Mukuchyan to pull of a sexy performance, but I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt and wait and see what she can do….
I’m from Greece an I’ve seen a lot of her appearances and believe me she really got it with sexiness. She is not like Eleni because Eleni had the “I know I’m the most beautiful one and the best one” sexiness style and Tamta has the “I know that everyone wants me “ style
Strong woman, good song, cool performance. Will look great on camera. I “need her love on replay” 😀 😀
Oh my god she slays! Cant take my eyes of her!
