The Eurovision Song Contest 2020 was gearing up to feature some of the biggest voices we’ve heard at Eurovision. And 15 of the 41 acts that would have competed this year are suave, sophisticated men!

Back in April we asked who you thought was the best solo male vocalist at this year’s competition.

After tallying up all the votes, we have a poll winner…

Gjon’s Tears from Switzerland is your favourite male solo act of Eurovision 2020

The total count of 5,210 votes was spread quite widely among the guys of 2020. But, only one could take away the trophy as your favourite male solo singer. This year, it was the Swiss-Albanian singer Gjon’s Tears who stayed well ahead of the rest.

The star earned a whopping 1,169 votes (22.44% of the total) and settled on top of the poll quite early on. His beautiful and haunting vocals on his track “Répondez-moi” have certainly cast their magic over many fans across Europe and beyond.

Securing second place in the poll was the not-so-violent Ben Dolic. The German star scored 627 votes for his entry “Violent Thing”, which is 12.03% of the total votes cast.

Up third was the Italian heartthrob Diodato. His song “Fai Rrumore” received 584 votes, which is a 11.21% share of the vote.

Following closely in fourth place was Georgia’s Tornike Kipiani, who picked up 529 votes (10.15%) for “Take Me As I Am”. And in at a respectable fifth place was the host-nation entry Jeangu Macrooy – “Grow” secured  381 votes (7.31%).

Really happy about that, he was in my top 10 this year! I only want Destiny, Little Big and Ben, about others I don’t really care 🙂 I mean I care for their feelings, but I wouldn’t be mad if they weren’t selected. I see potential in Athena, Hurricane, Alicja and Arilena though so maybe them, they should get better songs though. Also Vincent, Blas and Stefania should try harder next year imo.

To be honest I really disliked Kemama, but I am of the belief that every artist selected for 2020 should go again in 2021. The Nordics have kind of ruined that, but I think every 2020 artist deserves a chance to shine in 2021.
