Viva La Diva? Viva Victoria! Bulgaria’s Eurovision 2021 representative Victoria has announced that she’ll perform her Eurovision 2020 song “Tears Getting Sober” at Sofia Pride 2020.
This year, the annual pride parade in the Bulgarian capital was cancelled due to health and safety concerns over the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the team are committed to ensuring the LGBTQ+ community are still able to celebrate, and they have developed an online show called “Sofia Pride Live.”
The digital concert will be livestreamed at 19:00 CET on Saturday the 13th of June via the Sofia Pride Facebook page.
Victoria announced her participation on Twitter.

But that’s not all the singer had to share. Victoria also uploaded a video teaser for her new single ‘alright’, which will be available to stream everywhere on Wednesday the 24th June. The music video will be released on Victoria’s YouTube channel the same day.
Four Elementz, who worked with Victoria on the “Tears Getting Sober” video, also worked on the music video for ‘alright’, which was filmed in the Bulgarian seaside cities of Burgas and Primorsko.
Earlier this year, Wiwibloggs readers voted “Tears Getting Sober” as one of their favourite music videos of the year. If the artistry we saw there is anything to go by, ‘alright’ is bound to be brilliant!
‘alright’ was written by Victoria and a team of veteran songwriters including Sanne Österberg, Cornelia Wiebois, Martin Masarov and Eurovision legend Boris Milanov.
On the songwriting process, Victoria said: “Alright was written in Bulgaria during a Eurovision songwriting camp in January. We were quite tired from the long sessions and we just wanted to take a little break…We wrote it in a few hours. I cried the night we recorded it. I can’t wait to share it with the world.”
Later this year, Victoria is expected to release her debut EP. At the end of May, she announced that the winner of her “Tears Getting Sober” cover contest, Steven Amos from Australia, would join a songwriting session with Victoria and her team to work on material for the EP. Four other entries were chosen as runners-up, who were all sent packages of Victoria merchandise.
Victoria was one of the favourites to win this year’s Eurovision Song Contest with both fans and bookmakers. Luckily, fans will be pleased to know that BNT has internally selected Victoria to represent her country once again at Eurovision 2021. We look forward to seeing what she will bring to the stage in Rotterdam!
