For the past three months, Krista Siegfrids has been showcasing her dancing skills on Tanssii Tähtien Kanssa 2021. After reaching the weekend’s grand final, Finland’s Eurovision 2013 star finished as the runner-up.

In the process, Krista broke the record for receiving the most perfect scores in the entire history of Tanssii Tähtien Kanssa – the Finnish edition of the Dancing with the Stars franchise.

Even after only her first couple of appearances on Tanssii Tähtien Kanssa, Krista highlighted herself as one to watch in the competition. Over the weeks, she and her professional partner Anssi Heikkilä delivered a number of standout dances.

For the grand final, the remaining three couples performed three dances each. The first of these was a fusion dance – this is where contestants combine two dance styles into one routine. Krista and Anssi brought together foxtrot and rumba. Despite being two very different dances with different technique required, they manged to effortlessly incorporate both and received 28 points from the judges (out of a possible total of 30).

Each couple were also tasked with repeating one of their earlier routines, as chosen by the public. Krista and Anssi were given their salsa from week three. The pair previously scored 30 points for the routine and they replicated this perfect score in the final.

The final dance of the season was the freestyle show dance, where couples were given free rein to do what they want. Performing to Italian protest song “Bella Ciao”, Eurovision alum Krista incorporated elements of commercial, tango and paso doble into a dynamic routine. The judges were also impressed and awarded the pair another perfect 30.

Krista earned eight perfect scores over the course of the season, which is a record for Tanssii Tähtien Kanssa. The “Ding Dong” singer truly cemented her status as one of the best dancers to have ever appeared on the show.

Despite the high scores from the judges, it was the public at home that were given the power to decide the final result. In the end, Krista and Anssi secured the silver medal and finished second in the public vote.

Actor Ernest Lawson was declared the winner alongside his partner Anniina Koivuniemi. Krista previously danced with Anniina for the partner switch-up episode of Tanssii Tähtien Kanssa in week seven.
