Last week’s season opener was memorable, although not always for the right reasons. Host Oscar Zia will be hoping for a quieter night tonight, without any voting app breakdowns. As always, Swedish fans can catch the Eurovision selection by switching their televisions to SVT 1. Viewers elsewhere will need to head online.

Heat one | Deltävling 2 — 12 February 2022
Time: 20:00 CET to 21:30 CET
The second heat of Mello 2022 will be streamed live on SVT Play. It will be available to watch worldwide. It will also remain online for catch-up viewing — but only for the weekend. On Monday, it will go offline until after the fourth heat.

The opening show will see seven acts perform. As always, the results will be determined solely by the viewing public through a mixture of app and phone votes. However, there will be some small tweaks as to how the voting will work.
There will be an initial round of voting where the entry with the most votes goes directly to the final. In the second round, the six remaining songs will vye for the last direct to final spot and two places in the semi-final (formerly andra chansen) spots.

- Samira Manners “I Want to Be Loved”
- Alvaro Estrella “Suave”
- Browsing Collection “Face in the Crowd”
- John Lundvik “Änglavakt”
- Tone Sekelius “My Way”
Melodifestivalen 2013, 2014 and 2016 singer Oscar Zia will be the main host.
