It’s the voice from San Marino! On Sunday, semi-final one of Una Voce per San Marino took place at Teatro Titano in the city of San Marino. Of the remaining emerging artists, 20 were competing in semi-final one for three tickets to the Emerging Artists Final.

In the first round of competition, the 20 acts each sang their own song. Eight of these advanced to the second round. Then in round two, the remaining contestants sang a cover or an original song.

After two rounds of competition, it was Aaron Sibley, Camille Cabaltera and Elena & Francesco Faggi who won the tickets to the Emerging Artists Final on Friday.

However, hope is not lost for the other five acts who made it to the second round. They’ll all progress to the second chance show on Thursday. Included in this is Eliska Mrázová, better known as Elis Mraz, who finished second in the Czech Republic’s 2020 and 2022 national final ESCZ.

Elis will be joined by Frio, Alessia Labate, Anna Faragò and Daniela Pisciotta in the second chance show.

You can watch the entire show at this link.

I hope that means “awesome”, because Elena and Francesco are 100% precious and must be protected! Kudos to San Marino for a cheap but v likable show, I’m looking forward to the rest.

While I see why some people may not be happy about it, I think it is actually quite clever to accept entries from other selections who failed to win in their own countries (like Elis Mraz) – many of them are really good and fan favorites.

It’d be ironic and iconic if she wins for San Marino and ends up getting a better place than Domi in Turin XD

Aaron Sibley and Elis Mraz are both fantastic!

Seems like these are their songs for the NF after all. I am surprised with the rather high quality of these songs. It’s nowhere near the level of most other selections where they have wide public auditions. Some of these are proper good entries, including Aaron’s and Elis’ (of course, since it’s Imma Be).

I remember Camille Cabaltera from X Factor Italy, she was easily one of my faves and got screwed by a stupid twist when she could’ve gone further in the competition
She also was unlucky that that season was one of the most competitive ever (Måneskin were in the same season as her btw), if she took part on a recent season she would’ve easily reached the finale
So I’m really happy seeing her succeed
I’ll be definitely rooting for her

Even tho the set-up of the NF is still unclear to me (I still don’t even know whether or not they are selecting the song through this NF), it is very exciting to see a country like San Marino put so much effort into an NF, when they could very easily just keep on selecting internally. This is the kinda passion that has luckily been rewarded the last two years for them, and it would be great to see San Marino do the unthinkable and qualify three times in a row.

the sound from the theatre on TV was really bad.

Elis seemed to have the most professional performance.

Its a semi final, selecting the artist with a song to go into second chance and final
