Poll: Who will win Eurovision 2022?
As you’re well aware, the results of the Eurovision Song Contest are determined by a 50/50 jury-televote split. The votes of professional jury members don’t always align with the preferences of the public.
In recent years the overall Eurovision winner has not won both segments of the vote. In 2021, Italy’s Måneskin topped the televote, but only placed fourth with the jury. While in 2019 The Netherlands’ Duncan Laurence won neither — placing third with the jury and second with the public. It was a similar story for Israel’s Netta in 2018 — first with the public, third with the jury. Portugal’s Salvador Sobral was the last Eurovision winner to win both segments of the vote.
Who do you WANT to win Eurovision 2022? And who do you think WILL win? And what about the public-televote split? Let us know what you’re thinking down below.
ALL songs are terrible! 0pts for all.
If it comes down to real emotion in a song, The Netherlands or Ukraine should win.
I think Serbia has potential of winning this year, and it would be very deserved! such uniqueness has never been seen in Eurovision. Im rooting all the way for Konstrakta and will vote for her tomorrow in the grand final.
I think it is hilarious how people still think Eurovision has anything to do with the actual acts :))) Eurovison scoring has been a biased political affair for years and this year wil be no different. Ukrain will win eurovision by a mile because of ‘show of support’ with regards to the War. Plain and simple
Surely Belgium is the best act going this year, but no comments!
This year anything can happen but the victory would be for the 5 countries that are in the bets:
UKRAINE – ITALY – SWEDEN – UK and SPAIN
¡Vamos, CHANEL!
Every year Eurovision has a few songs that I like to listen to a few times Sweden and Holland are the ones this year Sweden is similar to dare I say it Russia 2015 I think which finished 3rd and could have been higher but for negative sentiment I expect Sweden to go 1 or 2 above 3rd
Either Sweden, Spain or Italy
Definitely Italy!
Hello, just wanted to know when Semifinal predictions by wiwi stuff are coming out? Little off topic, sorry and thanks
I think it’ll ultimately come down to Italy and Sweden. As much as I think it would be great to see Ukraine win, I sadly don’t see juries backing them as much as others. I think the UK can spoil here too. Three weeks to go!
In 15 days, Maro released 3 pieces of art. I don’t remember a candidate for the ESC who did it so close to the show… And I also don’t remember so many covers, so many video reactions and especially so much praise from the musicians to a song from Eurovision… Quincy Jones, Jacob Collier, Pablo Alborán, Teresa Salgueiro (Madredeus), Luísa and Salvador Sobral, Ivan Lins, Sílvia Pérez Cruz, Rose Linn (Armenia)… And many others from classical and jazz to hard rock.
Sweden and Italy have shot ahead as favourites, but ultimately it will come down to UK and Greece – one of those two will be the Maneskin of this year, get loads of momentum and win. Greece have staging, UK have TikTok.
You know something about the Greek staging though to be sure it will do that well?
To be fair, the head of contest said that the UK is “one to watch” in regards to staging, so let’s not give that side of the argument to Greece just yet ?
Greece’s staging will be a letdown as usual.
I predict it will be Greece vs Poland at the end, Italy coming very close too.
I’m waiting for the rehearsals. No songs that are going to lock up the jury vote. So it may come down to who brings the magic to the Turin stage, and builds momentum out of rehearsals, like Portugal 2017.
Israel – I’m not even joking, Michael gave some spoilers in an interview he has about the Eurovision, he said it would be something very very special and dramatic, it’s not about the dancing and the fireworks, it’s going to be something amazing! “Very Cinematic” he said a few more things but I will not tell, what I can say is that he is going to be the dark horse of the year. I am so excited.
Yeah right!
Well that didnt age well! lol
Read more »
Reino Unido??
Y’all are really sleeping on Serbia!
No, they’re being realistic because unfamiliar viewers are going to blank on it entirely and miss out on the context
I think it will be between Ukraine and Sweden, with the first winning the televote by landside and the second doing very good in both. Closing the top 5 I’d say Poland, Netherlands, Italy and Norway will fight for those spots.
On the other hand, I am Spanish but being realistic I think Chanel will place around 8th-10th place (which would be a huge step forward from previous years).
Other contenders for the top 10 will be UK, Serbia and Maybe Portugal?
Overall, this is a very open year and anything could happen in the end!
Greece?
Let’s say… top 15? Maybe like Victoria did last year.
I really doubt Norway will do that well, it’s a borderline qualifier at best
Ngl, I have too many favorites this year. I won’t bother trying to predict a winner, I’d rather be surprised on May the 14th!
I think the winner will be known once we see the performances. But my gut says It’s going to be U.K, similar to 1997 winning by a landslide.
I don’t know but I hope that Norway bombs and doesn’t even make it into the final. Songs like these are exactly the reason why no one takes Eurovision serious and why it has such an terrible reputation. The last few years have been good and the quality of the show has gone up. Norway would ruin the momentum. It’s 2022. Take the contest serious. It’s not even that they’re a troll act. The song is just bad and outdated.
Songs like these are the reason most eurofans love the contest
Last year it was Russia and Ukrain
I never expect them to win, but it wouldn’t be ESC without some light-hearted fun! And Norway’s is clever and catchy to boot. I’m for Sweden or Italy, but I would not be unhappy if Norway won.
My top three this year:
3) United Kingdom
2) Norway
1) Portugal
I really wonder how the jury voting would be 🙂 As we know, there are some countries whose juries never give any jury points to specific countries. For instance interesting fact but Denmark, Ireland and UK are the countries whose juries never gave any points to Italy since 2015 and I wonder whether they would give some points to Italy.
I’m from the UK and I loved Soldi, Zitti e Buoni, and especially Brividi – just because a jury doesn’t give something points doesn’t mean they’re basic. The Italian songs aren’t high art or anything.
I hope UK and Italy would be in top 3; my favorites as well as with Poland 🙂
I really have the feeling that this is the year of The United Kingdom, he is really popular and can get a lot of points in televote, the song is also really strong, and EBU said it was the “Must-watch” performance !
People are sleeping on its televote potential with his social media following.
I would be totally okay with The Netherlands winning the whole thing as a fellow commentator states bellow. It’s one of my fav songs. However, I don’t really think it can appeal to a wider audience and, even if the Dutch language gives it a little extra thing for the fans it also limits its “portability” to wider radio audiences or foreign markets. There isn’t a clear favourite as other years (maybe Ukraine), at least judging by the way that I see it. Not even on the betting odds (again, if one doesn’t count Ukraine). Sweden and Italy has that… Read more »
I forgot about Serbia. Definitely could be a top 10, I don’t see it as a winner but will surprise the audience.
Sweden is my favorite and Spain is my second favorite.
Spain is clear the big dark horse this year,in the rehearsals go to be spectacular ,something new in the esc , what never seem before, she is a winner ,no doubt, let be honest ,she is the best this year far away
Hardly a dark house it is considered one of the possible winners.
A dark horse is a country that sneaks up to win but before that is not a favourite to win. Spain is a possible winner
I like to follow my instict when it comes to predicting the winner. From the first moment I felt that it’s gonna be Netherlands. France also ticks the boxes for me, although I need to see how it comes together on the ESC stage, because I’m not convinced yet. Poland is the third one that I can see going all the way. Ukraine will get a lot of sympathy votes, but it doesn’t “feel” like a winner. Finally, I’m pretty sure it’s not gonna be Italy, Sweden, Spain or United Kingdom, for different reasons each one.
I feel like it could be the one she you’re certain it’s not going to be but regardless, I think they’ll do better than where they’ve been coming more recently.
Chanel will bring Spain their best result in ages, but I believe that just like Eleni Foureira she will not get enough jury love to make it to the very top. Very likely to be Top 5 but that’s the best I can see I’m afraid.
Day 65 trying to understand the hype around Italy …
Me too, because I don’t like Mahmood’s voice in that song. Just doesn’t fit..
The studio cut is fine but my ears were bleeding after the Sanremo performance Mahmoods voice is BAD and his mannerisms are ugly. He looks like he’s straining on the toilet.
I feel the power of their music. It’s melodic, plays falsetto and rap at the same time. Innovative!
Too much auto-tune
Day 66 trying to understand the hype around Sweden’s song:)
Old stuff if you ask me!
I kinda wish Mahmoud had sent another generic rap song.
Agreed. Both Italy and Sweden are too generic this year. So predictable to be loved by fans. Neither will win. The actual audience has much more variety in their taste fortunately.
All I can say Sweden is so overrated. Also how they put Bulgaria as last option in this pool. Its that irrelevant lol
But its not irrelevant, its one of the greatest songs this year, and in this decade too
What I think of the top 10 of the poll. Sweden – I like it but I don’t think its going for top 5. I think between 5-10 I think it will be good place for Sweden. Probably top 5 for juries. I don’t think its going to be top 10 for televote, just my feeling. Top 3 for televote yeah defiantly I don’t see a world where it doesn’t happen. Top 5 for juries I think maybe but not so sure maybe in top 10 defiantly. But still a very good result for Spain. Spain – I love Spain… Read more »
Spain brings nothing new to the table imo. Haven’t we seen it a million times before? But she is a good performer and singer. My guess is a 3- 5 placement, but no winner.
As a Spaniard myself I’d take the 3rd place, tbh.
Very good analysis there. I agree with almost all of your comments!! 🙂
I really do not see how Ukraine won’t win. It will be a landslide televote win for obvious reasons and the juries will definitely not forget about them.
agree…and it’s fine. Contrary to the opinion of most of the fanbase on this site, who take this contest too seriously.
Ukraine won’t get landslide televote for many reasons.
People are smart enough to vote for their favourite songs and not with sympathy. And maybe they don’t want to give Ukraine more problems, by making them host for 2023
Agreed
They themselves (broadcaster) aiad the best place for them is 2nd
It’s a popular misconception that the winning country HAS to host the following contest. They don’t. For example Israel chose not to host the contest in 1980 after winning in ‘79.
Agree, though I hope it doesn’t happen. Eurovision should be win by the best pack. While Ukraine might be good it’s not the best pack in any way.
Won*
Juries wont forget it but I also dont see it getting top 5 with juries. It is not a jury song.
And I also would not count on audience to give it landslide. UK is more likely to get votes from audience since Sam Ryder already has a fanbase. I also think people are smart enough to not vote for sympathy
It’s between Malta and Bulgaria.
for last place in semis?
: D
Good one
Jajajajaja nice joke buddy
I’m not so sure about Spain winning, yes the song is bop but it doesnt sound like something the juries would appreciate. Still hope she’ll end up at least in the top 5.
I agree
Though the exact opposite happened in Benidorm
And I don’t wanna talk about Benidorm
Some people here really are broken records. There are certain people that just go on and on and on and on about their song being the best or underrated or bla bla bla. Just zip it. I dont wanna read about your unconditional love for Spain, Serbia or Poland. It is tiring to listen to. So please get your heads out of your behinds and try to be a bit more open about things. I wanna read funny or insightful comments. But all I get are dumb comments. Sad. I’ll still be here cuz I both love and hate the… Read more »
You’re HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cope
Cyprus and San Marino?
have that feeling the UK will win…
We haven’t even seen the performance for the UK’s song but probably everyone knows its not going to the best.
What have you seen?
The guy who advised all countries on staging said UK is the one to watch but you claim it is only X factor standard. Can you back up that claim with some details or are you making things up?
How do you know? Have you seen the staging?
well, there are rumours about Greece going big with the staging, but that happens every year, so…
I don’t think Poland has a winner song, and I suspect they might throw everything at the staging trying to win, and that could would backfire…
If the UK does not have a winning staging, then the victory is leaning towards somebody who won recently (Sweden, Ukraine, Netherlands or Italy).
*could backfire
Poland will have dancers on the stage who together with Kystian will tell the story from the music video. In what sense this similar to NF?
Well as long as it’s not Sweden!
If a female ballad wins I hope it’s The Netherlands ??
Poland will have dancers on the stage who together with Krystian will tell the story from the music video. In what sense this is similar to NF?
source: there isn’t one
What about Albania? Do you know anything?
Oh well, I was so looking forward to the UK staging after the ‘one to watch” comment a few weeks ago. Is there anything positive about the UK staging you can tell me to cheer me up?
Thanks Ellie, good point.
That guy is obviously making stuff up. Nobody has seen anything except for builders/constructors and people who work for ESC. No ESC executive is commenting on a random Wiwibloggs article, and no builder has the expertise to pass comment or probably care enough to seek out a Wiwibloggs article and comment.
Ok the 2 countries rehearsing on may one and are on top 10 of the bookies are Norway and Greece
So Norway will do mgp staging so you just be talking about greece
Source: trust me bro
The staging that was called “one to watch”? Riiiiiiiiight.
Poland,UK, Italy and Spain; would be happy if all of these countries in top4. Any of them can win because all of them are great songs 🙂
Honestly I think Malta will do much better than expected, the performance is ten times better live.
Agree about Malta. I like the song and Emma is a shinning star
This year is interesting because it really will come down to the performance on stage. I think the countries that will really pull it off live and be the contenders are Sweden, Spain, UK, Greece and Poland (but I’m not sold on this song but it is popular with others). I don’t know how well Italy will translate on stage tbh just have to wait and see. Honestly at this point I’d say it’s gonna be another Swedish victory. I’d love to see Lithuania do really well this year too 🙂
I didnt like vocals and live performance of Swedish singer during Madrid and London organizations. Vocals were a little birt full with voice cracks; that’s why I don’t want Sweden to win.
She had just recovered from covid in Madrid. I think her throat was still not okay at that time.
Ukraine won’t win. First, because it doesn’t have enough funds to host eurovision due to the war recently happened. Second, if they win, people might feel still scared to go in Ukraine next year to watch in person Eurovision. I doubt they will win. But in top 10, sure they will!
Ukraine can do an Australia and pick which country to be host.
If Ukraine wins. It would most likely be either be 2nd place country or Poland.
I think EBU said that in the case of Ukraine’s winning; the Big-5 countries would be asked for hosting the contest; namely Germany, France, Spain UK and Italy.
My thoughts… Out of winning game: Italy is out of question, just cuz is the host country. Never in the last decades a host country did well. The song ofcourse has big quality (I don’t like it personal). UK has a good song after many many years and deserves a top10. Not a chance to win, especially due to televoting. Massive tele for UK is out of question. It’s a quantum jump from the usual zero to 100+ points (I like the effort). Spain has a typical dance latin song. Has surely appeal in phantom but won’t have with the… Read more »
Sorry but underrating Italy’s song just because Italy is the host country would be unfair :)Concerning to Sweden, I find the song average and vocals are too raspy.
I said why in my opinion Italy is out of the winning game. Fair or unfair I explained the reason. I said that the song has quality
..but is so annoying for my ears.
UK arguably has the biggest televote potential outside Ukraine.
Poland ,UK ,Serbia all deserve to win . Spain & Sweden are overrated.
Good judgment. You the first one with whom I agree 100%
When will you start publishing Wiwijury on YouTube? ??
They are not doing videos this year
I’m hoping for France to win, but this is my prediction:
1. Spain
2. France
3. Italy
4. UK
5. Greece
6. Norway
7. Czech Republic
8. Sweden
9. Poland
10. Finland
Not that I’m against France but there is no way Fulenn finishes that high. The song is good but nothing extraordinary. The girls are desperately lacking in charisma and vocally there is still a bit of work to be done even if it is ok. It could do a top 10 like between 8th and 10th but I even think it will finish between 10th and 13th.
My winner is “Meghan Markle’s healthy hair” <3 Go Serbia!
I’m from Spain but I vote for Italy, which I consider is a masterpiece. Sweden seems to me that always send the same song ????
I don’t understand.
First people complain that sweden always send a male generic pop song that seems/is overproduced.
And now they send something different, a female, with different genre and not overproduced perfect song AND people STILL complain that sweden always send the same. Que??
It’s perfectly fine to have an opinion and not like the Cornelia’s song, but to come with SwEden AlwAys sEnD the SamE SoNg is ridiculous.
Totally agree. Sweden moved away from the poppy songs sung by men to an authentic song with Cornelia.
I don’t like Sweden this year, but I appreciate the fact that this year they have sent a song different from the lastest and of higher quality.
I agree with your comment. Sweden’s song is different, nice but kind of average, not so special song
Sweden?!?! Ohhhh, please…..
Go Serbia!!!!
