After months of build-up, Eurovision will finally return to our screens tonight, Tuesday 9 May, with semi-final one. For many, it will be the highlight of the TV year. Here’s what you can expect and, most importantly, how you can tune in and watch the show.
Watch Eurovision 2023 first semi-final
Time:Â 21:00 CEST on Tuesday 9 May
Check your local listings for the correct time in your timezone.
Eurovision 2023 semi-final one — YouTube
The first semi-final of Eurovision 2023 will be live-streamed on the official Eurovision YouTube channel. This stream will not contain commentary or voting numbers. It is available worldwide except in Australia, Greece, Lithuania, the United Kingdom and the United States. Viewers in the first four countries will be easily able to watch the contest via alternative sources listed further down this page.
Eurovision 2023 semi-final one — United States of America (USA)
As in 2021 and 2022, American viewers will be able to watch the show live on the Peacock streaming platform. The show will air at 15:00 New York time or 12:00 in Los Angeles. Former Olympic ice skater Johnny Weir will provide commentary.
Alternatively, U.S viewers can try their look with some of the participating broadcasters. The downside to this option is that you may have to listen to commentary in a language that you do not speak.
Eurovision 2023 on Television and Radio
Of course, Eurovision 2023 will air live on all 37 competing broadcasters — although some countries may air the semi-final in which they are not voting in on delay. As well as TV, many will also stream the shows on their websites. Several will simulcast on radio too. The competing networks are listed below.

Are you excited for semi-final one? How will you be watching? Let us know below.
Thanks so much for sharing this article! The Peacock feed is missing the center audio-channel (the one with the singer…) so they sound like they are in a fishtank.
I’m able to watch the Swedish stream just fine in the US. I don’t understand the commentary but that’s okay. The subtitles are actually synchronized too!
Did the singer from the Busker say the words “fked up” at the start or did I mishear???
Just like last year – I’ll have to watch first half and hour or so of both semifinals on a bus. Joy.

Tbh i watch it on yt for years now. Polish commentators are awful. They know basically nothing about ESC, talk over performances and all
the same with the Czech commentator. For years it was headed by a guy who apparently does not give a…nothing to learn something before, cannot even pronounce the names of contestants, has silly humour and is constantly confusing names, years, titles of songs, facts… Simply terrible. As if someone wrote him a screenplay hour before and he read it ten minutes before the show.
Oh, come on – he’s not THAT bad. Some of his jokes are even funny – and he definitely doesn’t talk over performances. However he completely ignores what the host say and doesn’t bother to translate almost anything being said in interviews, or anytime during the program.
I’m in New York. Johnny Weir’s commentary is awful as was Ross the Intern before him. If you want English commentary VPN RTE (Ireland). Otherwise no commentary is ok – simulcast with BBC radio (BBC Sounds) on your phone works too.
ENJOY!
The Malta feed was a good one. It was in English with no commentary.
I’m in New York City, but I will be watching from the SVT site, in case my VPN fails at YouTube.
I’ve got no desire to hear Johnny Weir commentate, so it looks like I’ll be busting out touchvpn and watching the youtube stream that way again. It’s not an outstanding vpn, but it’s at least free and you could select a couple different countries in europe.
Having to livestream the show this way is tolerable, but what REALLY aggravates me is that videos of each performance AFTER the contest are region-blocked year round for Americans too. It’s SO annoying, and they do that for ASC performances too even though that’s OUR contest
my vpn failed. I had no choice but to pay for peacock.
pure evil
try the Malta feed. It was in English without commentary. San Marino also feeds well but there was Italian commentary,
Let’s make history with Loreen and Sweden! 7th win, first female double winner and host country in every decade since 70s.
This is my OCD brain talking, so forgive me cos I hate these comments usually…
Technically they weren’t winners in the 00’s. even though 1999 & 2012 are very close to 00’s either end, it means they haven’t achieved such an awesome feat (but still an impressive number of wins)
I’m watching via YT :3
For the first half hour I’ll be on the bus on my way home, so I home I’ll be also able to watch it there (and not hearing annoying voice of our commentator)
*I hope
I legit think every single country has annoying commentary. Every single one.
Decided to pay 5 bucks to stream it in the US. Don’t really care for commentary from Johnny Weir if I’m being honest though, I wish I could just watch the version without commentary on youtube.
I’m just gonna watch it on the Swedish iPlayer, because I can watch the full thing without commercial cuts.
AHH! I Really like Cha Cha Cha! pls win!
Cha!
Good luck to all your favs y’all.
La Zarra was amazing! The audience LOVED her.
Yeah I’ve seen some vids from the arena, and it makes me happy for her, she deserves it, Évidemment with an audience is the evidence 😉 it takes another dimension.
So excited to watch the full thing!!!
Me too! And Noa also she ate that apparently, can’t wait!
Finland and Croatia! Rooting for them!
Go Käärijä!
Can’t believe eurovision starts tomorrow! I can’t wait!
Hopefully an extra special one for you too, BadWoolfGirl. Hope you enjoy to the max 🙂
I will.
4 mo hours :3
Cha Cha Cha all the way to the winner’s spot! Good luck all!
