On Saturday she rode a wave of jury support to the top of the Sanremo scoreboard, finishing first with her song “La noia.”

And now Italy’s Angelina Mango has once again come out on top — this time in our poll, “What’s your favourite Eurovision 2024 song so far?”

Miss Mango ended Ireland’s two-week reign at the top of our poll with a convincing win. Of the 6,561 votes cast since Sunday, she earned 1,277 — or nearly 20% of them.

That put her ahead of Norway’s Gåte (with 13%) and Irish non-binary artist Bambie Thug (with 12%).  Ukraine’s Jerry Heil & alyona alyona and Spain’s Nebulossa round out our Top 5.

And let us clarify one very important detail: Angelina’s votes were not coming exclusively from Italy. If we look at votes by IP, the biggest number of voters came from the U.K. (956 votes), Ireland (498 votes), Finland (396 votes), the United States (394 votes), Norway (324 votes), The Netherlands (309 votes) and then Italy (303 votes).

Even if we removed all 303 votes from Italy’s tally, she would still have come out on top.

Angelina Mango wins our “favourite Eurovision song so far” poll

1. 🇮🇹 Italy: Angelina Mango with “La noia” 19.46%, 1,277 votes

2. 🇳🇴 Norway: Gåte with “Ulveham”: 13.05%, 856 votes

3. 🇮🇪 Ireland: Bambie Thug with “Doomsday Blue”: 12.12%, 795 votes

4. 🇺🇦 Ukraine: Jerry Heil & alyona alyona: 11.45%, 751 votes

5. 🇪🇸 Spain: Nebulossa with “Zorra”: 9.27%, 608 votes

6. 🇫🇮 Finland: Windows95man with “No Rules”: 8.47%, 556 votes

7. 🇫🇷 France: Slimane with “Mon amour”: 6.37%, 418 votes

8. 🇱🇻 Latvia: Dons with “Hollow”: 5.61%, 368 votes

9. 🇸🇮 Slovenia: Raiven with “Veronika”: 5.49%, 360 votes

10. 🇱🇺 Luxembourg: Tali with “Fighter”: 3.89%, 255 votes

11. 🇨🇿 Czechia: Aiko with “Pedestal”: 1.84%, 121 votes

12. 🇲🇹 Malta: Sarah Bonnici with “Loop”: 1.75%, 115 votes

13. 🇦🇱 Albania: Besa Kokëdhima – “Zemrën n’dorë” 1.23%, 81 votes

Total Votes 6,561

Käärijä (x Erika Vikman) would have won with RUOSKA! Too bad he didn’t compete for a second time in a row!

“I stand with what I said: Italy could send a guy farting and still be esc favourite. Overrated is not a strong enough word to explain what Itlay is at esc. Mid song, good singer, mid staging…” Said it 3 days ago and I will say it again.

And if we remove Italy, where are those votes coming from? That would also be interesting to know, since those US votes might be Italoamericans, that as per I read on reddit, they support Italy in Eurovision no matter what.

in Italy they are not interested in winning Eurovision and most people don’t even know what it is….in Italy they are much more interested in Sanremo which is simply the father of Eurovision……so I don’t think there is all this support also in the world of Italy. but simply the quality of the songs is sometimes superior to everything else……in fact the flight …maneskin the same mahmood are more listened to in the world than in Italy. as for angelina, I find that currently based on the songs in the competition….she is the best both vocally and in terms of… Read more »

The devoted and obsessed San Remo fanbase is not only in Italy true, but it skews everything as usual, the others have not the chance to get this light, this huge audience and this huge support worldwide every single year so whatever Italy sends they will come in Eurovision with this big San Remo fanbase behind them. All the esc particpants have not this biggest advantage, no wonder why Italy does always better in the televote than anybody else every year, very unfair yes, but everybody is happy with that apparently so let’s the same unfair system repeating every year…..… Read more »

Ok course this blog is full of people pro San Remo so welcome the downvotes… but I assume, it’s too easy for Italy in Eurovision, too easy to get this systematic and easy glory every year. Which esc particpants have the chance to perform in front of a worldwide audience of more 15 millions people during 5 days before Eurovision, none except the italians participants, so don’t tell me it doesn’t bring a big advantage after, just wake up.

I am not the biggest fan of „La Noia”. In my view, Annalisa and her „Sinceramente” was much better! More rythmic, better melody and less chaotic! I still think that Nebulossa slays, hope it’s a dark horse:)

For me at this point there are 2 very good songs that are pure quality: Ukraine and Italy.
Then there are 3 good songs that bring something interesting to the contest: Norway, Ireland and Slovenia.
There is also a bunch of songs that aren’t bad but don’t bring anything new to the contest. This doesn’t mean they can’t do well in Eurovision.
And finally there is Finland and Czechia that are horrifying to me. Finland because of the song, Czechia because I can feel the disaster in May.

Czechia has a decent song if you listen to the studio track, but oh boy that live performance was a car crash. Finland simply has a genuinely bad song, that will only get votes from drunk UK televoters.

I personally find Norway and Slovenia overrated compared to where they will actually place. Ireland is amazing, because it will actually grab the televoter’s attention. Finland will as well, so don’t count them out.

I can’t see where your view about Norway not doing well is stemming from, apart from your personal taste and the fact that you dislike the song, which I totally respect as long as you admit it. What I’m noticing from various reactions, is that many fans and casual viewers from various countries are impressed with the live performance and there’s a general positive view about the song despite some not liking the song. I don’t see the same about Finland. It has a much more limited appeal and most fans and casual viewers outside UK and the Nordics are… Read more »

I think people are hyping about Ireland mainly because song is ok and they really want Ireland to finally qualify – but fact is that song, while is better from previous attempts, isn’t really that strong and stands 0 chances of qualification. But yeah, to each their own.

Ireland winning this poll twice was VERY encouraging. I predict Norway won’t do as well with casual voters as with Eurovision fanatics.

ThorBeta

Nah, look outside your shortsighted bubble. Norway will do fine with casual voters from South Europe – they see “Ulveham” they same way North Europeans see the ethnic songs from the Balkans. FInland is the one that will do badly with casual voters outside the UK and the Nordics.

The Italian song is decent but Croatia Rim Tim Tagi Dim still to come and that will be there in the televote.
Ryk is dangerous for Germany.
The Swiss song was rumoured to be a huge deal.
Every time a song comes out every week we always get someone going masterpiece Rome 2025 or masterpiece Dublin 2025. This week it will be masterpiece Berlin 2025
Week after BANGER Zagreb 2025

I love how you miserably tried to cover in layers your subjective desire for Croatia to win with Baby Lasagna. To be fair, it would be a huge step down in case a prank song like “Rim Tim Tagi Dim” wins it all. Not that it’s funny either, but each to their own, especially to Croatians themselves.

Italy and Norway are rightfully the best two songs so far, though.

It’s very interesting how many of the IP addresses are from Ireland and Finland – someone could argue that this explains why they are so high compared to other polls. It also shows how skewed these polls can be and how little resemblance they have to the actual results – there both the UK of almost 1000 voters here and Moldova of almost 0 voters I dare say have the exact same power.

ThorBeta

Well, the fact that there are around 150-200 non Finns that voted for Finland doesn’t mean much – they would have finished around the 11th place in this poll with those votes only. Ireland did much better with an excess of minimum 300 votes, which is a more convincing sign that it has more appeal around Europe. Also, if I’m not mistaken you’re still in the Top 3 countries that voted in this poll with almost one sixth of the voting IP addresses, right? You and other Brits will still not gonna be able to save Finland. It will mostly… Read more »

It’s not like the irish voted for their acts the previous years. Don’t bog their success down to pure country bias. That’s simply unfair.

If you read my second comment you’ll actually notice that I’m not. I genuinely think that “Doomsday Blue” has a more broad appeal as I mention there and I believe that it will deservingly do better than all recent Irish entries. I also know well how critical Irish can be of their own submissions to Eurovision, but I think this year is slightly different and imho that’s actually a good sign.

BREAKING NEWS! Israel sent 2 songs to the EBU, they asked Israel to check the songs that they are not too “political” for the competition. Eden Golan recorded both songs. One of the songs was written by Eden and the 2 creators of “Unicorn” and the other song was written by the producer who produced “Toy” (Eurovision 2018 winner). Israel is waiting for the EBU’s decision.
