Filming of the postcards for Eurovision 2016 is well underway, with production crews jetting off to various corners of Europe, the Middle East and Australia to capture the artists in their home countries. The artists themselves have excitedly shared pics and videos from their postcard shoots, so let’s take a look behind the scenes at the 2016 postcards.
In past years the postcards haven’t always featured the artist, instead focusing on tourist attractions of the host country. But since 2013 the postcards have always featured the artists, giving viewers an introduction to the act about to perform.
At the recent Heads of Delegation meeting, the EBU shared details of this year’s postcards, revealing that the short clips will focus on the acts in their home countries. Produced by Camp David, the team behind the Eurovision 2013 postcards, the artists for 2016 will be shown doing activities in their personal life around their country. The 2016 dandelion motif will also appear in the postcards.

What is the theme music playing during the 2016 Eurovision postcards from each country? It seems really familiar?
Redfox.. Briliant idea
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5jbg97dDGCk here’s the Czech vid with subtitles
Where is my country, Sweden?
However, is Dami Im’s postcard filmed at Toronga Zoo?
I have an idea how to get creative postcards. Let children make up a theme or draw a portrait of the artists, or say why they should win Eurovision.
you are welcome to steal this idea, please, producers – as you did in 2002 (half the postcards were based on my ideas I sent to ETV, but didn´t get any credit, the frog, the princess who didnt laugh,motorcycle- 3 bears in the puppet theatre, ghost nightclub and Thumbelina).

Postcards are the same every year. Over and over again…
2013: Artists in their home countries.
2014: The only one who had really imaginative and creative postcards. PS: Tijana’s postcard was the best one.
2015: Artists in Austria.
2016: Artists in their home countries.
C’mon, you can do better than that!
Only Denmark in 2014 had a really good idea about what to do with these postcards. The making your own flag theme was brilliant.
Everybody else just does the same every year. Either show off the country that hosts or each act’s own country. What’s the use in that?
That being said, I was reently in La Fenice and I love that Francesca went there 🙂
Is that the Eurovision theme song in SBS video. If Is. It sounds nice
Look at Amir – France bulge 😮
I think best postcard wili be from Australia and Croatia.
Ben Rafter, it’s not just any old library. It’s a stunningly beautiful library, and a tourist destination in its own right. Maybe you might like to visit one day. The Cliffs Of Moher would be a terrible cliché.
Do we have to live the stereotype in each postcards? Not everyone who likes Eurovision is a librarian and not all Kangaroos are camp backing dancers. Geeze!
Nooo vote for SERBIA. Croatia is homophobes
VOTE FOR CROATIA
I wish i were that snake to lick with my tongue Dami Im’s private parts 🙂 i really love japanese
U gotta be kidding! Photoshoot in a cemetery?
That Dublin Library looks amazing!!!
@Robyn Gallagher
Thanks. Your surname is Irish. Are you Irish?
+jurij – It is a little bit weird but there are reasons – Mirogoj Cemetery has a beautiful architecture, one of the most interesting in Zagreb and Nina dedicates some of her music to her friend who passed away few years ago so.. She also visites other locations in the postcard..

Haha, Australia’s postcard is cute and fun – Dami with the baby kangaroo is very cute, Dami with a snake wrapped around her is funny especially her reaction when it started to go into her shirt top!
Wasn’t that Dublin library used to film Harry Potter 5?
Barei looks great in Spain, and a shirtless Juri in Estonia is nice, but Dami Im tops this one with her koala-handling in Oz – it’s totally Australian and will definitely stand out. 🙂 x
For me best postcards was from 1996,1998,2000,2001,2002,2008,2015
Good idea for australia postcard, everybody love kangaroo, koala and Australia is their homeland.
It looks awesome.
It very weird to shoot postcard for Eurovision music contest on cemetry. Who had that idea .
I am disappointed with my country’s postcard, Ireland. Why go to a library?!?!?! They could’ve went to somewhere really beautiful to show off our country like the Cliffs of Moher.
