There are no signs of slowing down from Douwe Bob from The Netherlands. He just completed his first rehearsal here at Globen Arena in Stockholm and we are loving his performance.

There’s no denying that Douwe Bob’s voice is utter perfection. He did not miss one note throughout his entire rehearsal. The performance begins with a camera panning above Douwe and his band as the LED floor transforms into a giant clock. The whole performance of “Slow Down” seems very vintage, but still chic without being dated at all.

The entire spectacle feels like you’re seeing your favourite band at your local bar. It’s also true to Douwe’s aesthetic, which was very refreshing.

Is his spot in the final a lock? Not yet. But his voice and the originality of his staging will only help his cause.

HI Douwe Bob… last tips for success! Do use 6 SECONDS instead of 10.. this is enough and make the statement of GET TPGETHER.. use the clock and a beating heart to show that human beings get together and show LOVE AND RESPECT… you even can use the clock ticking with a tattoo heart that beats ” in the clock 😉

Be Different and send the message of respect, love IN SLOWING DOWN … use your SEXY EYES.. and package the message in interviews more STRONG.. podium performance and elements MUST FIT.. then you be in the TOP3

@Daan, so you want him to unfairly lose against an inferior song? 😛

Douwe shows his big cock. YAY Netherlands will win =] I have no idea whats going on but I would love for him to pull a Common Linnets.

I think that the point of the song comes across really well. Unlike, say, Russia which just seems like an excuse for on stage tricks.

The more I listen to it the more I like it ……. I love how simple it is, especially since performances nowadays include rock-climbing….

@dutchie

something new is good for me, look i can’t vote for him as i’m dutch, but slow down is growing on me 🙂

also something new to eurovision, Ira has 4 backing singers, but she sees them as her team, who also have their input in the song, as one big team performance

i’m very excited to see how Ira and Molly are rehearsing together, tomorrow and she has got a very good draw, going last of semi final 1

what do you personally of that song Walk On Water?

@nicky91
He doesn’t want it to be complete silence per se, the audience decides what happens. Which is, as he announced, something completely new to Eurovision.

@dutchie

well last year Malta had with Amber also some seconds of silence, and they didn’t qualify, maybe silence is never good, i really wanted backing singers for Douwe in that 10 seconds 🙂

The 10 seconds of silence after the guitar solo are an interesting factor, it could be a disaster or it could be great. I think those 10 seconds will decide on his chances for the final.

The uniqueness is what will make them qualify, agree.
Could do better than we think, but won’t do nearly as well as The Common LInnets.

and also thank you for voting for my country, as i’ll vote for Malta and i still need to see who my other vote will go to 🙂

I’m Dutch and i really like it! It looks very promising and ironed out, but i hate the idea of 10 seconds silence! Reduce it PLEASE! At least i wish Douwe best of luck.

the netherlands could be a dark horse this year. in between croatia’s hysterical dress and armenia’s dramatic visual staging i think his calm and chill staging could really stand out. apparently he’s also gonna do ten seconds of sillence on stage to really show the message of slowing down so i really hope it’ll all work out!

To be honest, if Douwe just stood on stage in silence for 3 minutes with his cock out, he’d win.

Flawless vocals, and Douwe Bob is definitely going for a top 2 behind Croatia to qualify to the final

he’s the best singer what my country has ever sent to eurovision, it’s definitely better than the common linnets, and finally again something different than those annoying pop songs 🙂

During the song, Douwe will bring Eurovision to complete silence for 10 seconds, to really spread the message of ‘Slow Down’.

Very risky move. Hope it works well.

The clock thing sounds horrible, it reminds me of Israel in 2012 and that was crappy (sorry, Nicky91). Of course, I will have to see it first and my opinion may change.
