In the aftermath of Eurovision 2016, as we flew back from Stockholm and coped with Post-Eurovision Depression, Serbia’s Sanja Vucic and her band ZAA were busy releasing a new single called “Unconditional Love.” Now that the post-Eurovision haze has cleared, we’ve finally had a listen and can confirm that we unconditionally love it.

Sanja, who placed 18th in the grand final, released the song as a single just two days after the grand final. And she didn’t just put it out there. She premiered in on the MTV Adria channel. Go big or go home, right?!

Sanja and ZAA had already performed the song live, most notably on the television show Tri boje zvuka (Three Colours of Sound) that airs on Radio-Television of Serbia (RTS). That’s the show that introduced Sanja to a wider audience and eventually led RTS to invite her to represent Serbia at Eurovision.

“Unconditional Love” sounds like the love child of Bob Marley and Manu Chao. Accompanied by the seductive sound of the saxophone, it oozes sex as it describes that special kind of love that comes from above. Sanja’s vocals burst with emotion, but she remains in total control. Flawless.

“Unconditional Love” is available for download on iTunes.

Her voice is amazing but I have still yet to hear her sing a really fantastic song. Would love for her to come back with a Zeljko special. 😉

I don’t understand why the juries did that either. Her song had a great message and nobody can blame Sanja’s fabulous vocals. In my opinion, Serbia should have been in the top 10 with the juries. I mean, that’s why the juries are here, in order to support quality entries.

Still can’t understand juries putting her 23rd, but glad to see Sanja back to her jazzy alternative greatness!
