All we know, all we know, is that Eurovision is a winning game for Duncan Laurence. The Netherlands’ golden boy has been incredibly busy since winning the Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv on Saturday night. And he marked his homecoming by appearing on the Pauw show, performing a rather different version of his winning track “Arcade”.

Performing in front of a small orchestra, the emotion was still raw — and Duncan wore it on his face throughout the performance. The tweaked arrangement of the piece made the iconic moment of the song — as shown in the contest in front of a spherical light — softer, reducing the heights of the first notes after it to fit its more intimate surroundings.

Throughout the performance a video played in slo-mo of the moment Duncan was announced as the winner, and the immediate celebrations thereafter, including Ilse DeLange cheering with him. She was also present for Duncan’s prime-time slot, looking on with sheer pride from the sidelines at her apprentice-turned-victor. Can’t help but get all the feels from that moment, as Duncan finally achieved what Ilse was so close to five years ago.

We’re not crying, you are.

It’s a sell-out!

Aside from Duncan’s TV appearance he also has been busy letting everyone know all about his European tour dates, which went on sale Monday morning. No worries for Duncan though: Tickets for every single Dutch show (all twelve!) were sold out by Tuesday, with shows in The UK, Germany, Austria, Denmark and Sweden surely soon to follow the trend.

This is a phenomenal achievement from the Dutch star, who was essentially an ‘unknown’ before being announced as The Netherlands’ participant. After a campaign in The Voice of Holland in 2014 where he was mentored by Ilse and reached the semi-finals, Duncan went back into musical education at the Rock Academy in Tilburg. After his studies he was internally selected by broadcaster Avrotros.

We can’t wait to see Duncan live again, and to hear what else he’s hiding in his repertoire. Will you be attending? Let us know in the comments below, and make sure to follow us on Twitter HERE. You can follow all the latest news on Duncan Laurence HERE.

If Duncan can use his win to build a great career Eurovision can be credited with launching him. At this rate he’ll at least be a Helena and be a superstar domestically with some international fame, but hoping for more for such a great performer

Ilse deserves this success as she was the one nominating him for ESC. She finally got her revenge from 2014.

I’m so happy for Duncan. He’s a deserved winner and so humble with it. I hope his music career progresses following his success. Well done Duncan I’m not Dutch but I’m extremely proud of you.

I really wanted to go see him in The Hague, but then I checked on his Instagram account and his NL tour was completely sold out! I was so disappointed (I wanted to visit the Netherlands), but now I think I’m going to Vienna, and I can’t wait to see him. I will probably be visiting the Netherlands for the Grand Final next year. Also, I will start a petition to encourage him to do a concert in my homecountry of Malta. I love Duncan so much! I would give everything to meet him; he seems like a really nice… Read more »

Thank you Duncan and the Dutch team to continue the good stream of winners since 2014 and letting us forget about the Toy-episode of 2018 and for giving us feelings and not firework.

O my God.. I am not Dutch, but I am so so proud of this vitory and Duncan. This performace was the best ever and really moved me… The Netherlands can be so proud and I am happy for them! What a winner! I whish Duncan would release this version as well. I still think if they would go for this kind of musical arrangement he would win by a landslide. But still, great victory to take the ESC legacy forward.

I actually think this is a very good sign. I remember when Salvador and Netta won many people discussed it being pro and against and not saying very nice things to each other. This shows that his victory is more consensual and good omen for the ESC 2020
