Last month Moldovan broadcaster TRM revealed that Moldova will most likely not use its national final O melodi pentru Europa to select its act for Rotterdam. Now the broadcaster has confirmed the names of the 35 acts vying to represent Moldova in Rotterdam.
The 35 acts — and 36 songs — have been selected by the broadcaster to perform their songs at the live audition round.
Looking to make a return is Moldova’s Eurovision 2012 star Pasha Parfeny. In Baku, he gave Moldova an 11th-place finish with“Lăutar”. This time he will try his luck with “My Wine”.
Also attempting a comeback is Moldova’s 2006 act Natalia Gordienko. She previously competed as a featured vocalist with Arsenium. The song “Loca” placed 20th. This year she’ll have the solo performance “Prison”.
After winning the national final televote and placing second overall, Maxim Zavidia will be back for another attempt. He will perform “Take control”. Also returning is 2019 third-placed act Diana Brescan. She will compete with “Let’s go together”.
And what would a Moldovan national selection be without Sasha Bognibov? The “everlasting boy” will perform “Big Brother”, an examination of the modern cyber dystopia we live in today. The song was written by Danish Eurovision songwriter Jacob Jonia.
The 35 acts will next perform their songs in the live auditions stage. This stage will be familiar to anyone who has followed the Moldovan national finals in recent years. The competing acts will perform a basic version of their song in front of a jury. Backing vocalists, costumes, choreography and staging aren’t required — the jury just wants to get a good idea of the act.
A jury will select Moldova’s entry for Eurovision 2020
But this time, there will most likely be no national final. Instead a jury will decide Moldova’s act for Eurovision 2020.
The winner will be determined by 100% jury vote. Each jury member will give each performer a score from zero to 12. The act with the highest score will win the ticket to Rotterdam.
TRM has not said why it is making this change. But by ditching a national final, Moldova joins the UK and Spain by going internal for 2020, while countries like Belarus, Germany and Romania are yet to confirm details of their selection process.
However, the contest rules still have a clause that means there is still a possibility for the broadcaster to hold a national final. If TRM decides to do this, they will need to confirm no more than 20 days before the date of the national final.

What do you think? Which of these acts would you like to see in Rotterdam? Tell us your thoughts below!
Dale Dale or withdraw.
At least she won’t have to sing it in broken English, as every each of the English language songs in their lineup.
That being said, of course Dale won’t win because money will speak. Argh.
Anyone please send a link for Natalia Gordienko’s song.. I really can’t find it anywhere

All songs are available here.
Even though many will say that Natalia Gordienko already bought her ticket to Eurovision, to be honest it will be the best choice for Moldova to enter the final again and even to have a chance for a top 10!
Natalia Gordienko has behind her the Dream Team and Kirkorov. We all know who is going to win
Really?????????????????? Her song is awesome!!! I would have never thought that Kirkorov could ever compose such a modern , dark song!
Kontopoulos wrote it and i am shocked because i dont like his recent songs but apparently he found inspiration again. Hopefully he had the same inspiration with stefania and greece
Are y’all bots? Lot of new usernames calling her song amazing while her song ain’t even out yet.
Her song is available on a facebook page called Eurovision Moldova. Bye felicia.
nightmare team’s sound is dated and expired, so i’m not surprised
justice for ANNA ODOBESCU tho
That already happened last year.
And this year is possibly only getting worse. 14 songs are out and Geta Burlacu is the only one who can possibly do better than Anna. It’s not even that amazing, but it seems sweet and it’s listenable. Che-MD isn’t totally bad either. Others… um… I’d like to say something nice, but I just can’t. Angel Kiss and Bogibnov are abysmal. *If* I officially rate this selection (which depends on whether all song will be available before the choice is made) it’s not gonna be rainbows and roses. Still, it’s fun in it’s own way. Anyway, they only need ONE… Read more »
14 of them are already on YT in the full. There’s a recap for all 36 too. From the recap, five or six of them seem to have potential. Natalia’s song is only a short snippet, but if she’s really a frontrunner, I hope it’s fun. Kirokov and Doredos had a really good fun song two years ago. Maybe this will be alike that? One can hope.
And yeah… I’ve been giving them some tough comments for some songs in their selection. I still stand by several of them being really poor, but as I said, I can see the potential in five or six to songs to be really good. Heck, maybe even more. 10 seconds isn’t enough to form a good opinion on anything. If I rate them, I will rate each song fairly. I wish artists all the best and for Moldova to find a really good song. Hey Mamma and O Mie were both in my top 7 in their respective years. My… Read more »
they could do the national final if more than 1 act stands out in a great way
but otherwise if 1 Obvious choice then internal selection
Lautar and O Mie are among Moldova’s best efforts at the contest, so if he’s coming with a self composed song I’m excited
OMG, Tudor Bumbac is back too! His Numai pentru tine from 2018 was… unique so to say. 🙂 Clap your feet like it’s 1942 in a rural county fair. 🙂
In all fairness, welcome back, man! I appreciate you following your dream.
top 5 for sure!
Didn’t Midone Denis (or Denis Midone) represent Moldova at JESC 2012?
Didn’t Belarus say it’s 100% doing a national final?
yes they are doing a national final, and live auditions, which you can follow via youtube livestream (i think, last year was like that anyway)
Hey, don’t forget 2008’s queeeen Geta Burlacu, who is returning!
Sasha Bogibnov, of course, has a family member name in his song’s title. If it was any other performer, I wouldn’t be thinking anything bad of it, but with him, nothing is too holy to ruin. 🙁
I wonder whether Moldova will put a direct streaming on YT when the day comes. Could be fun. 🙂
Are some of the songs already out ?
Do you have a link to all the songs? The one in the TRM website isn’t working for me.
With all the respect, this website should stop promoting people desperate for attention like Ally Ryan and Sasha Bognibov. Its better for their mental health to stop receiving attention without a reason
Putting aly in the same category as sasha is kinda overdoing it.
It wouldn’t be a Sasha Bognibov’s song without some mildly creepy lyrics, such as “your fingerprints on every girl you’ve been touching” or “what you swallow and how you’re mating”. But I’m still glad he toned down that aspect a little, cause “Love Me Like My Daughter” was way too much for me to take.
I am very impressed by the song of Gordienko!!!!! I never thought she would sing a song like that. It’s a song that I could imagine Dihaj singing: it’s powerful , dark with a nice ethnic touch.
Great job.
I also thought that she would have a Fuego v112 song.
I can’t find the song anywhere.. could you send a links pls

https://soundcloud.com/eurovision-memories-tv/natalia-gordienko-prison here you go!
I am excited for Natalia Gordienko!!! Hope she does well this year in the selection & possibly at Eurovision
Natalia was THE Queen of 2006. ”Loca” deserved more!
It would be great to see her coming back after all these years.
Guys also dont subestime about Natalia Gordienko! She will competing with an ethnic ballad produced by Dream Team in Athens and Moscow, and last time the Dream Team got Top 10 at ESC 2018 with DoReDoS band also from Moldova. She has an exellent voice too.
See, when the Dream Team have a little fun, they can actually be pretty enjoyable. I liked My Lucky Day so I hope I’ll like this.
Now there’s a big brother you wanna stay away from.
Sasha going for Cyber Dystopia? Why do I feel like Hatari heavily influenced her to try this theme
Ahh, pasha parfeny is giving me nostalgia. Loved that song back in 2012.
Too bad i hate whine tho xD
Haha, that would be better!
You obviously never drinked Moldovan wine… ?
Hopefully Sasha has a chance this year… his song is incredibly good and written by the same writer as Denmark 1987
Ralph siegel and his dated songs joined the chat
1987… that says it all
I forgot Moldova was competing.
