Sophia Patsalides, Cyprus’ Junior Eurovision 2014 contestant, has unveiled her JESC song “I pio omorfi mera”, which translates as “It’s a Wonderful Day”. It’s also a wonderful song—and one that’s gonna get Junior Eurovision fans on the dance floor. As wiwiblogger Angus says: “It’s like she is Ivi Adamou’s younger sister from another mister!”

Continuing the trend of electronic dance music at Junior Eurovision (Georgia 2010, Sweden 2011, Netherlands 2012, Ukraine 2013, etc.), young Sophia uses her beat to inspire all y’all to stay strong against the haters: “Don’t let anyone bring you down/ Stand up tall, you’re a fighter/ Spread your wings and let the wind take you higher.” It’s a message we can live with!

The English version will come out at noon on KISS FM Cyprus, and the Greek version will drop later today on Sfera Radio (Cyprus).

Do you think that Sophia’s dance song can stand up to this year’s dance track from Sweden? Is Cyprus poised for a successful return to Junior this year? Let us know below!

It’s a nice song, but maybe would be better if she send a ballad instead…
I like her voice!!
And its good to see more mature entries this year.

I thought Sokol (Belarus) sounded like Only Teardrops

The first verse sounds just like Mea Culpa. The song sounds great, very appealing to the young ones, jet mature for the senior fans. Sophia could do well con the senior contest, perhaps.

I don’t like this song. I’ve expected much more. It’s nothing special.

It sounds pretty good, I think this will do pretty well in the contest. Also, I’m liking how there’s more mature entries and not as many songs that belong in children’s television shows. Also, it’s nice that teenagers (Sophia Patsalides, Julia Kedhammar, Nadezhda Misyakova, Vincenzo Cantiello) are becoming more and more interested in participating in the contest. However, Sophia looked a little uncomfortable with all the dancing so I’m hoping this doesn’t follow the same path of Macedonia 2013.
