Nine days ago, on October 3, we asked all our mini (and not so mini) wiwireaders to choose their favourite Junior Eurovision 2014 song so far. At that time, there were eleven (out of 16) countries competing in the poll. You voted, we counted, and the winner is here. *drum-roll, please*
THE WINNER: Cyprus: Sophia Patsalides – I pio omorfi mera
This is Cyprus at its best! For its return, Cyprus decided to internally select Sophia Patsalides, a 14-year old girl from Nicosia. She enjoys singing, watching musicals, and listening to Team Wiwi homegirl and Belgian diva, Lara Fabian. We knew from the first moment that her song would be as dope as her! And yes, we were right. This club banger is so much more than just a sick beat (although obvs it has that too).
It starts off as mystic ballad that showcase the beauty of the Greek language. Then it advances as a real dance treat. Aew disco moves and one catwalk later, Sophia sashays into English, and owns it. She finishes off in Greek with calm and somewhat poetic saying of the song’s title. We la, la, la love (hey Ivi girl!).
FULL RESULTS:
- Cyprus: Sophia Patsalides – I Pio Omorfi Mera 21.41% (252 votes)

We’ll be launching another poll on Monday, October 13th.You’ll have one week to vote, and we’ll include 3 new songs: Italy, Slovenia, and Bulgaria.
At first I didn’t like Ukraine, but it really grew on me and now has the 7th place in my top. I don’t though seem to remember if I voted Ukraine on this top 😛
Slovenia has the best song so far, but I hate the English part. Had they used full Slovenian, the song would be 100x more amazing IMO. I don’t know about y’all, but it’s a winner song to me, pretty advanced from what they call “junior eurovision”. And this is what I like about JESC this year, I’ve never watched the contest before but knowing some great talents and great songs are gonna be on the show, I’ll definitely gonna watch it.
Phew!
Can anyone explain me how Ukraine got the second place while everybody hates it?
Slovenia and Bulgaria are both gonna dominate the next poll imo
