Timebelle fans and anyone who thought Switzerland was out of its mind to choose Mélanie René on Saturday will be disappointed to hear this news.

Despite some time for consideration, the fan favorites and runners-up in Die Grosse Entscheidungsshow, Timebelle, have eventually decided against applying for Selectia Nationala in Romania.

They announced their decision today, via Facebook:

We’re saddened to hear that Timebelle will not be trying again this year in Romania, given the “popularity of “Singing About Love” and the fact that three of their members are Romanian-born.

This comes after the rumors from their producer Mihai Alexandru that Timebelle would try again after their shock loss in Switzerland.

Submissions for Selectia Nationala close this Sunday February 8th. TVR’s jury will then select a maximum of 12 songs to be presented on February 12th. A 50/50 split voting system will select Romania’s representative for Eurovision 2015 on March 8th.

Are you disappointed that Timebelle won’t be in Romania or Vienna?

For them it was probably the right decision. If they didn’t make it out of Romania it would be doubly humiliating. That said, as a Eurovision fan the Grand Final would have been so much better with them in it.

I think is a wise decision, they should focus on their own music and career, I think many of us who discovered them through the swiss national selection will be waiting for more music from them. There will be other opportunities to go to ESC, I just would love to see them try again next year or in the near future!
