Last week Lithuania’s broadcaster LRT announced the 12 selected artists who will compete to represent their country at Eurovision. We were thrilled to see that Vaidas Baumila, who made it all the way to the end of Eurovizijos 2014, is among them. Lithuania has one of the longest, most drawn-out selections in Europe, and many of us wish they’d just go ahead and crown Vaidas the winner!

The Lithuanian singer and actor has upped his game since the 2014 selection in February and is now a serious contender for the win. It made our summer when he exchanged tenderness with Lithuanian model Laura Juozaityte in the official video for “Free Love“. The hot song fared well in Lithuania and had temperatures rising all across Eurovisionland. We’re pleased to report that he has two new holiday releases for you, including a duet with fellow Eurovizijos star Girmante.

VAIDAS BAUMILA – “TIK ŽMOGUS”

“Tik Žmogus”, which means Only Human in English, is an emotional ballad performed alongside a chamber orchestra. In the first part it relies only on Vaidas’ vocals and a piano. But after some time, and with the appearance of violins, cellos and drums, it becomes a really dynamic track. The official video was filmed in a brick chamber with special lightning, which provides a nice holiday atmosphere.

VAIDAS BAUMILA and GIRMANTE – “KOL MEILE TIKESIM”

No matter how poorly Lithuania has fared at Eurovision, their national selection always includes a few gems and superstars. That’s why we are so pleased to see two of those stars produce this duet, which is filled with sparks. Girmante tried her luck in 2013, where she lost to Andrius Pojavis (“Something”) in the superfinal. Kol Meile Tikesim translates as “Hopefully until love”.
