It’s been one month since the stars shined and the confetti fell at Eurovision 2017. The team at wiwibloggs can’t get Salvador Sobral’s “Amar pelos dois” out of our heads. Unless we put on Kristian Kostov’s “Beautiful Mess”, Sunstroke Project’s “Hey Mamma” or Blanche’s “City Lights”. But our playlists don’t stop with the Top 4. We’re still loving Koit & Laura’s “Verona”, Naviband’s “Story of My Life”, Norma John’s “Blackbird” and more…
That we would compulsively listen to songs that failed to crack the Top 10 (or even make the final) isn’t surprising. Eurovision acts frequently fall flat on the big night because of bad staging or dodgy vocals, while digitally re-mastered versions of those same songs go on to prove timeless. Remember Britain’s Gina G. from the 1996 contest? Her dance number “Ooo Ah….Just A Little Bit” only placed 8th, but it’s now a staple on dance floors from Miami to Madrid.
Now it’s time for you to let us know which songs you are still listening to. So load your iTunes, see which tracks you’ve played the most, and then vote in our poll. You can vote for as many songs as you’d like, but you can only vote one time: be sure to click the box next to each song before pressing submit. In order to discourage fans from manipulating the results, you will not be able to see the full results after voting. Sorry ’bout it. But we will publish updates from time-to-time. The poll will close on July 14.
Note: We have decided to include Russia’s planned entry “Flame Is Burning”. Despite Russia’s forced withdrawal from the contest, the song is on the official Eurovision album, so we thought it right to include it here as well.
Rather than stressing out over the results, why not review our past winners? Poland’s Michal Szpak won with “Color of Your Life” last year, while Sweden’s Måns Zelmerlöw won with “Heroes” in 2015, Israel’s Mei Finegold won with “Same Heart” in 2014, Romania’s Cezar won with “It’s My Life” in 2013, Ireland’s Jedward won with “Waterline” in 2012, Sweden’s Eric Saade won with “Popular” in 2011, and Turkey’s maNga won with “We Could Be the Same” in 2010.
Thank your site! information your share is useful to me!
“We Could Be the Same”. Like (y)
Latvia: Triana Park, “Line” 2.31% and Denmark: Anja, “Where I Am”
I am impressed with “it’s My Life”
I still hear *Occidentali’s Karma* and have discovered Francesco gabbani as one of my favorite artists!
I totally agree-Francesco has some great songs and has a huge new audience as a result of Eurovision. It’s amazing how his music appeals to both children and adults at different levels. He’s also very easy on the eye! Love from Ireland.
Verona is the only one. Laura was just recently in Verona and didn`t get lost. 🙂 Laura and Koit will start a tour in July and some lucky fans can go to their accoustic concert.
Of course I listen ”Occidentali’s Karma” from Francesco Gabbani and Italy! And some times not only once a day! Some days I listen it twice and three times a day! And also I listen all songs from his new album ”Magellano” and some songs from his previous albums! He is a very big talent and he has awesome songs!
The winner Portugal in 7th place? This proves for another year that winning song does not definitely make the biggest career after Eurovision.
“We are lost in Veronaaaaa…” as soon as I hear these words I know the song will get stuck in my head for the rest of the day! Then, I get to work and I listen to Francesco Gabbani for the most part, not just Occidentali’s Karma but also his other hits like “Amen” and more recently “tra la granite et le granate”.
The fact that speaks about the quality of the songs despite them not winning the contest is duration. For example, from non-winning entries from 2016, I’ve heard If I Were Sorry, Loin D’Ici and No Degree of Separation playing on Croatian radio in the last few months.
Mostly Italy which is the best Eurovision song ever, but also Belgium, Finland, Estonia, Moldova, Belarus (didn’t particularly like it before the contest, but now I love it), Azerbaijan (the same as Belarus), Romania and others as well but less often.
WIWIBLOGGS, ALMA IS THE NEW EUROVISION TOP MODEL 2017, you won’t make an article about her?
ALMA is the best, ALMA’s song is fantastic, ALMA’s album is exceptionnal
Yes and her song was soooo good and pleased soooo many people that it came 10th in the televote and 12th in the final rank. Fantastic!!! I think you are the the “poor” guy.
Get a life poor guy, you have bad tastes live with that poor guy
You have horrible taste. Alma is not even charting in her own country… Of course not, the song is so bad that it doesn’t have a chance to succeed. Only good for people with trash in their minds like you.
D u m b a s s and child like you should not be allowed here, bye poor no life guy.
You are either mentally challenged or a 7 year old child. Out of your respect of your illness or as I don’t engage with on-line conversations with under-age, I will quit replying to your insults.
ALMA’s song and album was in top 15 in FRANCE poor guy, REQUIEM was in top 5 in armenia and bulgaria stop to say bull sh it poor guy, you’re so childish
pathetic bart is out, no brain
moreover ALMA’s song is among the most viewed on youtube and on spotify, ALMA’s song was 4TH on ogae poll, and she is 4TH in this poll, Alma was the most searched artist of esc 2017 on google , so close your mouth you smell bad
and she is the eurovision top model 2017, stop to be jealous poor guy
Geez, what an obsession… She didn’t win, ho-ney, and 11 countries came before her (9 in televote) So stick your headphones and listen to her and deal with it. By the way, you should listen also to other stuff, because the song is damaging your brain cells
Blatant bad faith, so ridiculous
Still re-watch the live show: Moldova! Also: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Croatia, Finland, Hungary
Special bonus case: still rewatch the Luisa+Salvador winner’s duet for Portugal
Still re-listen to the original studio track (preferring that to the live cut): Belarus, Estonia, France, Italy, Macedonia, Romania, Russia, Switzerland
Azerbaijan, Moldova
I listen to Italy, Occidentali’s karma! The best song! full of meaning! And I listen to Francesco Gabbani’s album “Magellan” ,too! A great album! He is really good!
And his previous albums “Greitist iz” and “Eternamente Ora” are great, too!! This guy has so many good songs! He was an amazing musical discovery. I found the translation of most of his songs here http://lyricstranslate.com/en/francesco-gabbani-lyrics.html
>>>Slavko Kalezi? sings in Italian! He is fantastic!
https://twitter.com/slavko_kalezic/status/866372694882889728
Belgium, Armenia, Sweden, Australia, Moldova, Portugal, Italy, Macedonia. And I am soooo happy that I don´t need to hear again certain songs, especially Romania.
* Oh yes, and happy not hear France anymore, either, not much better than Romania
poor guy
you’ re so pathetic I complain you
Oh you “complain me”?… Before insulting me, you should learn how to write in English. I think the pathetic one is you. I happen to dislike Alma’s song. So what? Other people dislike other songs that I like. You don’t see me insulting people because of that. Or do you like all the song? You pathetic little fool.
There’s also an 80s remix in the Verona EP. I love the Italian version and the Int’l Radio Edit the most, though.
I’m still listening that Manel dodgy note , I can’t get enough of it haha , it’s so funny. Besides Manel’s masterpiece, I often listen Sweden , Italy , Norway , Israel , Australia and Estonia ,and sometimes Moldova , Romania and Hungary
Awww poor manel!dont be so hard on him,he gave us a wonderful performance(i always feel so bad for those who make vocal mistakes, they dont deserve this in the big night after so much effort and all this preparation)
Yes cause corruption and rigging took a lot of his time so he couldn’t prepare better vocally
I remember Riga preparty in March 2017, with 5 acts – Latvia, Poland, Belarus, Norway, Czech Republic. It was said that none of them has any chance to qualify in the final, but look, 3/5 were in the final. I listen each day something else, sometimes I wake up with one of the songs in my head. This is a bad case of PED, we need Asiavision, that can be the cure ”hair of the dog”.
Who said that?
I think I often listen to Flashlight, Flame is Burning. They are all well.
Periodically France, Portugal (live with Luisa), Hungary, lesser Australia. Yet there were few shots of Norway, Iceland, Belgium, etc. Checking in for upcoming from Luisa, Dihaj band, finns, norwegians (they promised collaborate once more), maybe even Joci, and popcicles Nathan and Robin – depends on which stride will they keep on going.
I still listen mainly to Italy, Hungary, Belgium, Norway and FYROM.
Also Azerbaijan, Moldova, Ukraine, Armenia, Finland and France (the original version) occasionally.
#Verona <3
Belgium, Ireland, Israel, Romania, Armenia,
Denmark, Slovenia, Poland & Moldova
Just as I predicted, Grab the Moment wasn’t in my top 10 before the contest, but a month after it’s all I listen to
Mandinga of course <3 and now Elena Ionescu!
My summer hits top 3:
Hey Mamma – The catchiest song ever! It makes me wanna dance every time i hear it. It’s pure fun!
City Lights – Touching song, which sounds great in my car stereos.
I Can’t Go On – Great to listen to in car and on the dance floor.
In addition to my pre-contest top 4 (Italy, Hungary, Portugal and Macedonia), I find myself also listening to Armenia, Austria, Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine.
The right question is: which *artists* are people listening to? I have the feeling many have moved on from the Eurovision songs to other songs by them.
I still listen to Amar Pelos Dois, Origo, Occidentali’s Karma every once in a while, and Line. However I’m mostly listening to other Salvador and Luísa songs, and Francesco’s too.
Magellano is a great album, even if I don’t understand most of what Francisco’s singing. It’s just great, summery pop sound.
@Chris I found the translation of most of his songs here http://lyricstranslate.com/en/francesco-gabbani-lyrics.html
Still loving ‘Verona’, (also the 80s version and the Italian language version).
3 B’s: Belarus, Belgium and Bulgaria
‘Lights and Shadows’
Yodel it – still works for me
Macedonia and Hungary have really grown on me lately.
Flame is Burning. Yes it’s old school, but such an endearing melody.
Tell me baby, where we draw the line? (Lol) Triana Park.
<3
Portugal, Belgium, Italy and the new song from Michal Szpak
Alexander Search, and other masterpieces from “him”.
“Hallelujah brothers!”
i listen to portugal’s song every night before sleeping, it’s so awfully boring that it makes me drowsy every time (but i never watch his performance because he creeps me out)
at least that song doesn’t make you with headpains neither insomnias ~~
arrasei na sua cara, beijo no ombro
4li3n, well said!!!
Sambando na cara das inimigas :p
Sílvia Alberto and Pedro Granger for sure!! They actually love Eurovision and they both have already been somehow envolved in the show. I loved when they were our commentors (just like Graham Norton, for example): they gave us all the information with attitude, but without stupid comments and keeping it clean and simple.
For the greenroom Filomena or Catarina would do a great job
** wrong post, sorry folks**
To my surprise, it’s Mamma Mamma. I think it’s because it clicked so wonderfully on the night and it’s the one stage show I really enjoyed this year. The more I see it the more I still like it, which is very rare this far on from the contest. On the other hand, I haven’t wanted to hear Sobral at all. I guess I’ll have to cum Lisbon 2018.
Robin Bengtsson – I can’t go on KARAOKE version is much better, i can’t stop listenign
I’d rather listen to the uncensored version.
Cyprus, UK and Bulgaria
All in remixed versions
I’m taking a moment away from Occidentali’s Karma, I think I have listened to it so much, so I need few more days to recompose myself haha.
Right now, it’s Azerbaijan, Belgium, Finland, France and Bulgaria.
The performances, I rewatch Moldova, Armenia, Belgium and Finland.
I thought I would like Portugal more now, but it’s not happening.
and Hungary!
Occidentali´s Karma and all Francesco´s songs!! He is really good and my new musical addiction! <3
Cannot wait to see him in a live concert, and I´m planning to travel to Italy this summer for his live Tour.
I have no choice but listening to Sunstroke Project, it’s litterally everyday on the radio!
Azerbaijan, Armenia, Macedonia,Serbia, Estonia,Netherlands,France,Greece from 2017
From past Armenia 2016, Turkey 2003, Spain 1989, Austria 1989, Luxembourg 1988, Norway 1988. Turkey 1988. Spain 1985…
I love Norway 1988. It might be my favourite ESC song ever!
Turkey 2011
Norway 2013
Finland 2014
Definetely Skeletons! I just can’t get the chorus out of my head, and additionally because of the fact that Dihaj’s performance was mindblowing!!
She deserved to be in Top 5, she was so freaking UNDERRATED! However, I also listen to: City Lights, Occidentali’s Karma, Amar pelos dois, Keep the Faith (just love her voice, and the melody, so powerful), Hey Mamma, My Turn (such a cute woman, and song), Dance Alone, and finally Lights and Shadows. ??
3 years on and still listening to Softengine here
Kasia have Really Good song and she should be much higher than she is…. 😉
Poland is the best ??? I am Really sad because of 22nd place. She should be in the top 10 at least. ???
None really lol. Too many non-ESC musicians have been releasing new music it’s hard to keep up with the ESC songs after the final. I think Bulgaria is the only one I’ve listened to this month.
Right now it would probably be Bulgaria, Moldova and The Netherlands
I also listen to some JESC songs now 😀
Portugal, Romania, Estonia and Moldova <3
I voted for my top 10 (Greece, Bulgaria, Belgium, Denmark, The Netherlands, United Kingdom, Poland, Cyprus, Finland, Azerbaijan) and Russia (because I think it is a beautiful song and I hate Ukraine)
