It’s the eve of Dora 2020, y’all! And with just a mere 30 hours before Croatia commences its search for their Eurovision star, the national broadcaster HRT has finally revealed the snippets of the songs competing in Dora.
Just as last year, HRT published the snippets one day before the big final. This is to ensure that all participants have equal stakes of winning the title without keeping it too tight-lipped for their fans.
Each snippet lasts 15 seconds – long enough to coax casual viewers into watching the show, we say!

As the rehearsals are well underway in the sunny town of Opatija, we’re asking who should win the final and follow in Roko’s footsteps (and wings).
After you’ve listened to the playlist above, vote for your favorites in our poll. Remember, you can vote for as many acts as you want, but you can only vote one time. So make it count.
And since the Dora final is well around the corner, we’ll make this one a flash poll. The poll will close by 12:00 CET tomorrow and the results will be published tomorrow afternoon. You better click fast!

The sixteen finalists will compete for the right to represent Croatia in Rotterdam. The coastal town of Opatija — where the first Dora was held back in 1993 — will once again play host.
The show starts at 20.00 CET and will last for two hours. The final will be broadcast live on HRT 1 and online on HRT’s online platform HRTi.
The winner will be determined by a 50% jury and 50% televote split. In case of a tie, the winner will be the one ranked highest by the public televote.
You can read more about the show and its participants here.
What do you think? Can Croatia qualify for the final after two years stuck in the semis? Will you be watching the show tomorrow night? Sound off in the comments below.
Mia for the win !!!!
Is the only here who can qualify
aklea
Aklea Neon and Lorenzo feat.
The worst national selection this year. Sorry Croatia but you are choosing a song that will stay in sf. Good luck
I heard worse.
I don’t think any of this songs can qualify in eurovision. Last year was much better
Last year was terrible in my opinion.
Marin Juric Civro with Navino gets my vote. I like the electronic sound and the voice. Seems like other people like some other tracks. But I stick with this one.
15sec’s isn’t really long enough to judge… but I was able to pick out a couple of songs I was interested in hearing the full package. Those being in no particular order:
INDIRA LEVAK – “YOU WILL NEVER BREAK MY HEART”
DAMIR KEDŽO – “DIVLJI VJETRE”
LORENZO, DINO PURI? & REPER IZ SOBE – “VRATI SE IZ IRSKE”
MIA NEGOVETI? – “WHEN IT COMES TO YOU”
Anyways good luck to all the participants nonetheless.
Well done for being one of the few to express an interest in Damir beforehand
I’m sorry but Croatia definitely has the worst NF of the season by far
If you say so…
I didn’t look at the poll before choosing my favourite but I see now that a lot of us think Aklea Neon is the best option. Dana, Mia Negovetic and Edi Abazi are enjoyable too.
Aklea seems the best
Mia Negoveti?’s song sounds exactly like Still Falling For You by Ellie Goulding. Can’t believe people are stanning it…
Mary Jane, your comment is a mere distortion of the truth! Mia has an amazing song and a fantastic vocal. She’s winning the Dora and possibly the ESC as well. Good luck, Mia!
Where did you find album ?
“Zovi ju mama” has the winning vibe!!!
15 seconds? Come on…
Guess I’ll wait.
Edeltraut is a fictional character, who deliberately provokes in order to get a response. There’s another word for that. S/he doesn’t actually believe any of the nonsense s/he writes.
Voted for Aklea – Zovi ju mama. Can’t wait to hear the whole song tho. Good selection overall.
Absolutely, but let’s wait for full versions, there may still be some nice surprises.
It’s hard to judge who should be a winner basing only on short snippets but I voted for Aklea. Sounds the most interesting for me and I feel it can be something like Bulgaria 2007
I would happily cut the selection to this 5 songs which i believe are worth of full listening to (not in specific order):
EDI ABAZI – “COMING HOME”
?ANA – “ONE”
AKLEA NEON – “ZOVI JU MAMA”
MARIN JURI? ?IVRO – “NAIVNO”
MIA NEGOVETI? – “WHEN IT COMES TO YOU”
There is a video of the rehearsals of beovizija in YouTube and damn, Andrija cant sing at all he just screams and breaths heavily!
Hardly a surprise 🙂
I must correct myself, his actual performance at the semi 1 was borderline acceptable (I’d heard much worse),
Based on snippets my favourite are Aklea, Indira, Mia, Lorena and ?ana.
I agree in that Croatia has to do something differently. They either need to change the way they are doing Dora, or just choose a song internally. And all those replies need to chill. He’s not hating on croatians. He’s just aknowledging that this national selection is awful (just like it was last year) with a sense of humour.
He is Croatian and thats why he is so hateful… Classic Croatian 😉
All terrible as usual. Croatia have only ever had to great songs. That was in 1998 and 1999. All the rest have been terrible.
Impossible to tell with any great confidence, but Zovi ju mama stuck out the most – it sounded like there was an interesting electro beat going on in there.
She said the song will have electro-afro-soul beat. She will somehow turn kale and pine into instruments on the stage, and she and the dancers will be dressed in silk. The song “Zovi ju mama”, in English “Call her mum”, is about the Earth and climate change. She said she’s singing about the wildfires, among rest. It all sounds very interesting.
Uhhh… does anyone else hear “I love ze nipples” in Da Se Ne Zatare”? ?
Yeah, most of us who didn’t get any lately 😉
Much better than Serbia or SLovenia.. even though there are a couple of lame songs, there are in fact 5 or 6 that seem decent and entertaining.. there is enough good choice to pick from.. Eager to see who it is going to be..
None of the songs are really bad but none is really good either. Most are nice to listen to but once they finished they struggle to be remembered. Nothing stands out..
For me Lorena is the winner. Good voice, nice sound, nice song and a bit far ahead of the rest. With her Croatia could have a decent entry!
Hahah.. you are joke!
This is too rough. You must be very frustrated by your life and yourself to leave such a shameful and insulting comment. Or you just hate Croatians in general. Whatever it is, the only one laughing here is God – at you as his “greatest” fail.
Hope you re getting moderated. Why some human beings spread the hate ?
I m sincerely sad for you. Try to be positive you’ll live longer
Aklea or Mia
Seems Aklea is the only one that has any chance of qualifying
Strongly disagree. There’s a quite few songs that will not just qualify but will also place very high! Aklea and Kedzo, both really really good. Mia right behind, Lorena, Jure, Elis..
Pretty weak selection but the best sounding one would be ”Vrati se iz irske”
No final again? I wouldn’t be surprised. I really want Croatia to do good, but after hearing those snippets I really did not catch a potential qualifier. I hope to be wrong and the winner surprises me, but for now I don’t think it’s enough.
Literally almost any of those songs can qualify. So far everything that has been released by other countries is beyond weak, with exception of Germany, Lithuania, Spain, Norway and Australia.
I think Croatia has very good chances of doing very well at the Eurovision this year.
Mia is the best out of this bunch
I didn’t expect much honesty, but WELL DONE! Very diverse and good selection of the songs! Kedzo and Aklea are my personal favorites and I think both of those songs can and will do very well at Eurovision and bring Croatia back in Top 10 – at least, if they win Dora. Very melodic and different than the rest. I can see them placing very high. But there there is some other very good songs that could also do very well at the Eurovision such as Mia’s, Elis’s, Indira’s and Lorena’s. Croatians should be euphoric because this will be a… Read more »
Good selection? I would say very weak and disappointing.
@CoochieStank
Based on what?
Then we didn’t listen the same snippets I guess. ?
You vote for Mia Negovetic because she has the last serial number
and because the song is from the swedes?
No, it’s just because she has the best song out of all of them. It’s a weak selection.
My top 3 from Croatia
1. Lorena
2. Mia
3. Kedzo
100% win schoolgirl with the song Deb and Wrethov.
But I would like to Marin, his song authors Manntra.
Lorena!
