Boom! Flo Rida has left behind that bikini contest in the United States and is officially at Eurovision 2021 in Rotterdam. He’ll join San Marino’s Senhit on stage during her performance of “Adrenalina.”

Speculation ramped up earlier this week during Senhit’s second rehearsal. She shouted to the press, “Do you want to see Flo Rida with me on stage?” and included his photograph on her gorgeous crown.

During rehearsals a stand-in performed in place of Mr Rida, who raps “kerosine, gasoline, stop, drop, roll” during the track. Flo’s absence was the source of constant speculation. We asked Senhit whether or not he was coming after her first rehearsal.

She did not want to confirm, nor deny, that he would join her on the big stage for the actual competition. She told me: “We will see. Probably Flo Rida will arrive, probably not. It’s a surprise, you will see, you have to be patient and we will see what happens.”

Flo Rida at Eurovision 2021 in Rotterdam

Speaking to Eurovision.tv, Senhit said:

“Actually when I invited him to join me on the Eurovision stage back in March, the decision was made there with joy. It was not easy to predict the traveling restrictions, but there we go… I’m very happy to have him with me to perform ADRENALINA, not only to Europe but to the whole world! We are ready!”

The “Good Feeling” hitmaker said:

“What’s up Netherlands, it’s your man Flo Rida!

I’m so excited to see you guys at the Eurovision Song Contest. I’ll be hitting the stage with the superstar talented Senhit to perform our new record Adrenalina.

It’s such a good feeling to be back in Europe after so long. I’m very grateful to be able to perform once again, and on the biggest stage in the world.”

Don’t know how anybody else feels, but isn’t it sad that San Marino seems to be relying on Flo Rida to come accompany Senhit on stage when she’s the star and main performer. I guess he’s there to rake in familiarity votes from the general audience. but I would think that people vote for a good banger track with Senhit over name.

personally don’t think he’s getting paid, he probably hasn’t preformed in over a year Eurovision has 200 million viewers, its a no brainer to perform on the worlds biggest music stage after a year of lockdowns

Am I the only one who didn’t care about Flo Rida being there? For me the star of the song is Senhit.

I really couldn’t care less about him and I am becoming so bored by this overhyping. As if she’s not confident enough so she needs to bring a once-famous rapper.
I like her a lot and the song, but I don’t think she needs him…

Flo Rida or not, Adrenalina is a great song and deserves to do well with or without a big name. Hopefully the staging is good (seems so from the second rehearsal!)

Wow, what an incredible set of 16 performances in SF1. It would have been perfect if it wasn’t for Ireland. (Cough, sorry.) Sad that only 10 can qualify.

Yeah, it’s sad. I know how much effort went into that for Ireland, but hands up, it was just “too much” for the song I think.

I kinda feel bad for the stand in rapper they had for rehearsals. He was probably hoping he would have a chance to perform in front of millions of viewers. Good luck to Senhit though she seems like a really lovely person who loves eurovision.

RIP 🙁 I agree, they should make sure not to miss paying respect to the ESC artists we’ve lost. Especially today, when we are all celebrating the first semis.

Similarly, Sanja Ilic (Serbia’s representative in 2018, it’s even a recent act) died few weeks ago from covid. I was writing comments here in hope that wiwi will pay respect in some way but unfortunately they didn’t.

It seemed like they only wanted attention by saying that Flo Rida would be there.
San Marino now has a chance to place well.
The song also feels international and they have 10 famous songwriters

I think the country has a chance to place itself even better with the jury.

Cool! I do believe they should have rehearsed together at least once, don’t you think? I mean he is a star and is “just” rapping but sometimes you need to know where the cameras are and all that stuff. Even if it is just a brief cameo.

1. Senhit looks absolutely stunning in this photo!
2. A good chunk of the comments hate anything to do with America or Americans, despite this websites owner being American. Lead with love.
3. Its great he actually made his apperance very exciting. Glad San Marino can do something this big, an to make a point I don’t think this will set a precedent.

i sure hope that we don’t hear that his appearance has been paid by someone other than the delegation…if the EBU was involved in brokering this…or the new American platform–that would be very very bad…especially for a song that had been falling in the odds and now sits at #7 in its semi with an outside chance that it might not have qualified

I genuinely think she doesn’t need him as she really is a star herself. But each to their own . As someone said below, Im more concerned if they do very well as it could set a precedent where countries that can afford it can literally bring big US stars to boost their chances.

I share the concern. I mean, Spain is capable to invite some Latin superstar without a doubt and fare as badly as they have lately.

I wouldn’t mind one or two more stars each year. Your whole worry seems to be based on the assumption that fame means automatic success. But that is simply not the case … just ask t.A.T.u., Blue, Bonnie Tyler, Engelbert Humperdinck, Cascada, Las Ketchup, Darude, Anouk, Patricia Kaas, Mouth & MacNeal, etc.

Actually, I don’t think there ever was someone who won because he already was famous. Maybe Katrina & the Waves, but even that was during the British/Irish heydays.

Samo

It would be very very bad for the future of competition if the way to do well would be to pay a random US celebrity to join the performance (what do you think Azerbaijan would do the next year?).

Adrenalina is a great song, Senhit is supersweet and I wish San Marino would do well this year, but I really despise this Flo Rida stunt.

why so much hate, it’s AMAZING to see a star. Once we start to have stars as a prerequisite to win then it’s a problem. Let’s applaud and support SM!!

Samo

Where do you see a hate? I said I love the song. But this is bad for the contest which is meant to be about European culture and about music – because let’s face it, musically Flo Rida doesn’t add anything to Adrenalina. He’s just a face to draw some votes.

I hear what you are saying but I suspect the inclusion of a well known US performer in Eurovision this year is most likely to build the hype in America. I don’t think this is something that will occur in future Eurovision events. That’s my theory anyway 🙂
