I have been watching the Eurovision Song Contest since 1990, and I’ve been following National Finals since 2013. (So I’ve heard a lot of songs, and seen a lot of performances.)
My first reaction to this Maltese entry is: Yuck. I’m sorry that i feel this way; I just really don’t like this contrived song. The dancing is all very good, but I’m here for the song, the music, the drama and the love; it’s just not there for me. It’s probably my least favourite Maltese entry in 35 years (34 editions). Ouch.

I have heard it once and I am not sure I want to hear it again. Mind you it would have to go some to “surpass” my least favourite entry – the dreaded Tomorrow. And to think the ones of Breathlessly got 0 televote points. I love you Malta but you try too hard.

Malta? Not bad at all. Not something to die for but it has kind of (not exactly) Chanel and Noa Kirel vibes (toned down a bit). With a better performance and staging it may go through to the final and that’s where the story ends.

Good luck dear Malta and I will keep saying this: bring DESTINY back with a song like All of my love!

Bieng from Malta- somewhere along the lines, there would have been coruption (hidden) in the selections and voting. I like the song, Sarah is good and well done to her- I hooe she makes GOZO proud! Perhaps the selection this year was meant to be for a Gozitan and next year a Maltese will be selected! Poor Aiden in 2023!!!!! I ask why has drag not been accepted? I ask why has a clearly gendered person not been accepted and shutdown? I ask why they gave the best music video award to those before the announced, winner- was it just… Read more »

who? how did she win, is she from a rich family (wouldn’t be too surprised, given how corrupt TVM are, and how eager they want outside investors instead of paying for participation themselves)

and the answer is yes, her daddy is Marcel Bonnici, former chairman of Hamrun Spartans FC and the CEO of Mercury Towers, Malta’s tallest building located in St Julians (wonder if Emma knows her then? since she’s also from St Julians)

Eh, it’s fine? But I don’t know. Something about it seems a little messy to me, …but at the same time it also feels a bit generic. Ever since Eleni I kind of feel like we always get at least one woman trying to hit that vibe each year but they can’t quite do it (and she’s probably trying to channel Chanel too…but isn’t really making that mark either)

Queen Miriana was robbed. Vocally and songwise she outplayed the rest of the bunch this year, but still she didn’t win. I really think that vocally & performancewise only she and Brooke could get Malta to the final. I’m sorry, but Sarah doesn’t do it live for me, still wish her the best of luck tho in Malmö

I dont think he said that she owned the rights….I think he meant that she did it first and did it so well that she broke the mould.

This song…let’s face it, is a watery wishy washy replication of Slo Mo.

I’ve just got round to watching her live performance, and although I don’t mind the song itsself, she’s the epitome of the saying “Go on girl, give us absolutely nothing!”.

Although i agree that Eleni triggered the start of all these newer girl bops with the ‘sexy’ performance element, thats where the similarity really ends. Fuego was a different breed of song and it was performed differently. Yes Eleni danced and performed the song beautifully, it was starkly different in the way it was presented. There was no real dance break that warranted technical dancing like Chanel did. Chanel was so much more technical and precise and the song structure was not the same. Also, Chanel elevated the performance. Malta’s attempt is very close to what Chanel delivered, but if… Read more »

I’ve not really been a fan of Malta’s selection this year, although a couple of the songs are growing on me now after more listening. Surprised this one won to be honest (although that’s just my personal favourite). Its not a bad song at all, but it’s about four years too late. It sounds like music that’s been sent in recent years, which isn’t the best thing to do when you had Chanel do it so well. That said, it’s an innofensive slice of Vanilla that won’t place badly in May. I wanted Erba to win in all honesty, but… Read more »

Am I the only weirdo that believe Spain made the best decision tonight? (I mean that in terms of the entries they had to choose from in order to get a good Eurovision result, Norway for example would also have great odds in the contest with KEiiNO as they now have even greater odds for a top-3 with Gåte. Super Rob would also do well etc.)

help me understand how 78%/22% jury/televote works? those are very specific numbers…
guess it’s just Malta being Malta…pretending they are doing a national final when they technically do an internal selection and just rig everything to pick what the Maltese broadcaster wants…guessing the 20 shows they had this year was just an audition to see who they wanted to pick

I’m sorry to all fans of Loop, but I can’t find a single thing I particularly like about it. Is it super catchy on first listen? It’s not. Is it in Maltese? No. Does it have Chanel-like choreography? No. It’s literally in the middle of nowhere. Luxembourg is so far serving far better girlbop. This is basically like last year’s entry, everything is there, but still nothing to make you vote for it. And btw Malta better do internal selection next year cause this national final makes Malta meme country within fandom.

ALL OF THIS! ALLLLLLL OF THIS!!!! Tali will improve with time and will peak at the right moment, she already has the raw ingredients to produce something really special, unlike Sarah and Loco, which we have seen so many times before, unlike Matt Blxck and Erba they deliver things we haven’t seen before or have huge lashings of creativity, stage presence and charisma, not saying that Sarah Bonnici doesn’t have any of those things but, what she has presented feels incredibly lacklustre, it’s not her it’s just the song.
