I’ve been biased against Belarus ever since I read the lyrics to their song “Butterflies.” They say “heartfully just wait for it” over and over and compare themselves to butterflies “flying to the sun.” Butterflies are disgusting, and I’m fairly certain “heartfully” isn’t a word.
But after watching their first rehearsal, I’ve developed a soft spot for them. Their dresses look fantastic and they sing real nice. How in the world did these ladies get eliminated from Eurovision’s Next Top Model? My only concern is about the automated butterfly wings they show in the video. Watching beautiful women turn into oversized insects is kind of disgusting. And, um, butterflies only live for a few days. This does not bode well for a career post-Eurovision.
