Denmark, Emmelie de Forest, 1

Earlier today William and Deban journeyed into the bowels of London’s Shadow Lounge—a gay club in Soho—for the London Eurovision Party. Before the show kicked off we pulled out our cameras and filmed Emmelie de Forest singing an acoustic version of her Eurovision entry “Only Teardrops”. It left William yawning.

I don’t know if it’s Eurovision fatigue or if I’ve truly gone off of Emmelie’s song, but it just didn’t sing for me. Stripped of its tribal drumming and male flute players, “Only Teardrops” felt tired and limp. I know she’ll be singing the original version at Eurovision, but I can’t help but wonder if the bookies’ pick might join Stella Mwangi and Amaury Vassili and Kati Wolf in the graveyard of former favourites who went bust.

Anyway, you can hear the two live soundchecks below.

This song must win or should be in the top 3. The melody is perfect, the lyrics is meaningfull and the choreography is edgy. The song also has som folk elements and will unite europe because its relateble and simply amazing!!! Emmelie de Forest is talented and a very natural girl with roots in different countries, she is like an elf and really beautifull too <3

I ll be sincere,if this is sung by Nevena from Moje 3 it would be a hit,but Emmelies vocal is a average, and in shadow of other participants.

Not impressed by her vocals. Sorry. San Marino and Norway are way better.

I loved the original video but I think Malta has the best song… fresh and very positive…

I only see Denmark’s song as the winner. But I also love so much Israel (superb ballad with emotional lyrics, an amazing voice and such a beautiful language, I fell in love with hebrew since Boaz Mauda sang at Eurovision 2008 his perfect song with his perfect voice, gosh how I wish for him to come back to Eurovision with another masterpiece).
France, Austria and Azerbaijan have nice songs too. But they don’t give me the emotion that Rak bishvilo succeeds to transmit to me.

This video shows much about her vocal quality’s, but I already knew she wasn’t the best singer on eurovision this year. I also can hear it on the original version from only teardrops. i do not think its her bad day here:)
She react positivily at the end, this is her normal voice!
When she try to not over shout the high notes, it would be alot better I think, question is can she make the high notes right?

DO NOT BELIEVE THE HYPE. she will not win in malmö. this song is just too generic and she’s not the most exciting performer. we’re headed east: ukraine, russia, or azerbaijan. i could live with italy too 🙂

She’s a top 3 contender, but in this video her voice goes bad when she tries to hit the high notes..maybe it’s just a bad day and she needs to rest her chords..i hope she’ll sing great in the semifinal 😀
