Wiwi: Ruth Lorenzo, Spanish diva and UK X Factor star, threw it down during her second rehearsal at Eurovision today. She is not intimated by the Eurovision stage and owned it like she was a proprietor of the B&W Hallerne! Her voice soared, as always, and the LED backdrop remains among the most beautiful at ESC. The rain looks so real, and the puddles on the LED floor absolutely floored me. I love her hip-hugging dress. But I—and several other journalists—are concerned about the black gaffa tape on her breasts. Is it a temporary placeholder for some kind of special effect? (Update: at her press conference Ruth has confirmed that it is “armour” and that it has deep significance for her). Or is it actually part of the design of the gown? Regardless, she looks and sounds amazing. We still think this is a major dark horse to win it all. In an unfortunate incident one of her backing dancers fell off the stage. We hope she’s doing well…
Patrick: WOW! This was the best second rehearsal performance of the day. No question. Ruth is a wonderful person, beautiful as hell and her voice is probably the best of the year. The staging is stunning, it fits the message of dancing in the rain and it’s simply gorgeous. She definitely needs some pyro. I’m sure she’ll do it big. Wonderful Spain!

I get that she’s aiming for a ‘Little Mermaid’ moment but the dress might confuse viewers.
I still think Ruth is gonna win. This is just perfection. She is an epitome of perction. VAMOS ESPANA Y ARMENIA
Vangelis and Navy….. I wonder which countries are your favourites to win. . Don’t mess with Ruth Lorenzo because she would knock them out in a duel.
Es patético que la gente del propio pais insulte y haga criticas dañinas y sin motivos a su artista cuando en el resto del mundo le dicen cosas positivas.
It’s pathetic for one artist receive insults and offensive critiques from people of his own country. Especially when people of the rest of the countries say positive things about the artist, the song and the show.
Well, I’m already choosing one of my hats to eat. She can deliver.
At this point I’m so confused by the major support Spain has been getting; of course I cannot judge this song anymore. Yes, it is old-fashioned, yes it is shouted… but right now I think I could manage not to care about that 😉 I’ll simply wait till Saturday and wish them the very best.
This may be the first time that I’ve agreed with vangelis vt but I couldn’t have stated it any better. Nobody will like her. You’ll be shocked by how badly she does in the televotes.
DEJA CAER,DEJA LA LLUVIA CAER
I don’t care HOW it will end up, sorry… I keep doing this…
I don’t care who it will end up, THIS IS MY WINNER!!!
Even though it’s more static than I would have liked and I don’t like the way the backing vocals, Ruth is amazing!!! And I love the way she flips her hair :).
Winner 2014
She is really good and very interpretative. Maybe a dancer in the background could make a better effect but if this win, I have nothing to object.
As if this old-fashioned, 80’s kind of song wasn’t enough, she is alone on stage and nothing much happens except a major downpour. I can see the rain but where is the dancing bit?
Where Pastora could sound tender and fragile, she is like a major natural calamity you have to withstand against your will.
She may think otherwise but by the end of the song the viewers will be so fed up with her histrionics, she will finish far away from the top-10.

I think the surprise she has for the final is that her hair will be all wet as if she just came out of the shower. Not sure about this, but it´s what I suspect
She’s hot. (A) I hope it ends in the top 10.
WINNER!!! Striking voice, unique performance… and she saves a surprise for the Grand Final, maybe with her dress, which is totally meaningful, symbolizing the power of women in the world.
Ruth shines at the stage. The trophy will travel to Spain this year
