When Cristina Scarlat ripped out her hair extensions at the climax of her song “Wild Soul,” the team at wiwibloggs.com gasped with excitement. We gasped again—this time with shock and horror—when we found out that she had finished last in her semi-final.

I sat down with Cristina two days after her exit to discuss her performance. Far from being bitter and angry, she was positive and grateful about her experience. “It’s a risk that you take,” she says. “Once you don’t pass to the finals it’s a difficult situation, specifically for Moldova where Eurovision is so big. But we feel the support from a lot of press.”

The biggest news is that she plans to do this again. I hope she does: I think she had one of the best songs in her semi.

Cristina also said that her music will continue to have its own unique edge. She’s not taking the semi-final results as a repudiation of her music and style, but as a consequence of how incredible all the acts are. She also talked about her favorite in the final. There’s one that spoke to her very strongly. You’ll have to watch the video to hear who that artist was….

Love her song but she ruined it in the live performance. Her voice was very bad and she was kitsch (LOL @ the hair extrensions!)

She is so beautiful though and i’m glad she’s not bitter. Love her for that!

I think she should have qualified along with Portugal and Estonia instead of Iceland Montenegro and Armenia

I like Cristina’s song. It has a a story and it’s full of vibrancy. The only problem I noticed was that it wasn’t sung well during the semis especially the high notes.

I like the song. Its not a catchy 3 minute pop song, so it needs something for it to grab the attention of a first time listener. I am not sure her vocals were the best on the night – it was never going to win the semi final – and it was certainly not going to win the final anyhow. Someone is always going to come last – it occasionally happens to a good song. Contest over – move on – look to improve next year.

If Moldova wants to win they should just send Dan Balan. 1-3rd place guaranteed. Instead of stuff like this lol.

i think Moldova’s song this year was miles better than Aliona Moon’s song last year. I thought she would’ve pass the semi final and i think she deserved. Don’t get why it finished last.

I just hope that Moldova will participate next year, considering they are so poor!!!

Maybe the national final version was okay, but the song she sang at ESC was just horrible. Moldova is usually very overrated and if they fail (and come even last with just 13 points) you know it was deserved!
