Serbia’s Jelena Tomasevic struck gold with her Eurovision 2008 song “Oro”. She placed sixth on home soil, and has emerged as one of the hottest pop stars in the Balkans. We recently caught up with her at the Eurovision Live Concert in Setubal. She told us that she loves collaborating with fellow Eurovision alum Zeljko Joksimovic, and that she would return to Eurovision if she had the right song. Let’s hope someone writes it for her soon, as we’d love to see this delicious diva on stage again!
You can watch our interview with her below, and see her live performances from Setubal by clicking here.
Jelena Tomasevic interview
I’d love for her to return. She had Serbia’s best entry ever.
Serbia need to do a Balkan ballad and none of this crap we saw in 2013. I’m still bitter they didn’t pick Spas.
Oh, and if I was Jelena I would have been a bit miffed about the pronunciation of her name.
@emma
Thank you, Emma, no need to scream. We’re not deaf. I would like to see Jelena for my country again, but not with a song written by Zeljko. I’d prefer something similar to “Vertigo”, her song by Emina Jahovic. I’d also like to see Emina on stage for Serbia:-)
IS SERBIA SO STUPID ???????
IT SEEMS THERE IS ONLY THE SAME 3 SINGERS ….
THERE ARE JK, SEKA, CECA, DRAGANA, NEDA UKRADEN ….
MILLION OF GOOD TURBO-FOLK SINGERS… HOW STUPID IS RTS AND SERBIA…
Jelena + Zeljko would easily be another Top 5 hit!
I would love Jelena Tomasevic to come back to Eurovision! Her song “Oro” is for me the best balkan ballad in all the competition, beating “Lane Moje”, “Lejla”, “Nije Ljubav Stvar” even “Molitva”. So, I really want to see her again on stage, and maybe with a song written by Zeljko who is a fantastic composer.
Zeljko writes a song, she sings, and Serbia wins!
She’s calling you out Željko!
