Yesterday Georgian Public Broadcaster GPB announced the five lucky acts who will participate in the national final on January 14. They are: Nina Sublatti, Misha Sulukhia, Eteri Beriashvili, Niutone Band and Edward Meison. GPB will reveal all five of their songs on December 31. Ahead of that momentous announcement, we’ll introduce you to each of them and give you more of a flavor for their music. First up is Nina.
Nineteen-year-old Nina is a singer, composer and teacher. Born in Moscow, she and her family returned to Georgia very soon after. At art school she studied painting, drawing, and sculpture, winning several international contests in the process. You see flashes of her artistic background in her edgy, avant-garde looks and styling. And while she still has an eye for art, she is definitely focused on music. She went on to study music — and in particular piano — until 2008. After that she accepted an offer from a modelling agency and worked with countless designers and photographers. The artist had become a muse!
In 2011, Nina began to cooperate with the Georgian Dream Studio, an influential music house where she worked with the singer Bera. Voice instructors and choreographers, specially invited from New York, Los Angeles and London, helped Nina improve her knowledge of musical history and theory, vocal technique, choreography, and even psychology.
Her big break came in 2013 when she won Saqartvelos Varskvlavi (Georgian Idol). Here she is covering Britney’s Toxic. We want to breathe in the toxins in if she’s emitting them…
Following her victory Nina worked with Bravo Records and recorded her debut album “Dare To Be Nina Sublatti” . The album featured five covers of worldwide hits and five songs composed especially for Nina. The album quickly became the best-selling album in Georgia.
Here she is giving us some soul on Georgian Idol….
And here she is giving us her unique take on Cher’s Believe. You are strong enough, Nina…
So what do you think? Are you feeling Nina? Does she have the voice to sing for Georgia at Eurovision? We’re dying to hear her song!

she has her own songs!! <3
Does she actually have any original work besides her submitted entry or is it all covers?
I’d definitely love to see her in Vienna next year. She might even give Georgia their first win!
I hope Nina wins the Georgian National Selections! 😀
She’s so beautiful.
Beautiful voice. Go Nina!!
Without even hearing her song, I’d be surprised if she didn’t win. She’s clearly the most versatile and talented, and I can see her doing well in Vienna.
Go NINA!!!! 🙂
