It’s with a heavy heart that we have said goodbye to this year’s national finals season, which has proven to be one of the most exciting, controversial and beaver-filled of all time. So here at wiwibloggs, we thought we would honour the Eurovision 2015 national selections by giving them one last look.
For the next five days, we will be counting down our Top 30 entries that did not qualify for Eurovision 2015, with a total of twelve countries represented in the list. We’re also not saying that these songs should have gone to Eurovision over the actual song representing the country in every case – just that it was still our jam, y’all!
You can click on the name of each artist to find our Wiwi Jury review, written ahead of the song’s national selection contest.
30. “Mot mig i Gamla stan” – Magnus Carlsson (Sweden)

29. “Mesmerize” – Passed (Hungary)
28. “Suitcase” – Anne Gaddegard (Denmark)
27. “Thunderstruck” – Erlend Bratland (Norway)
26. “Fire” – IV (Hungary)
25. “Take Me Down” – Markus Riva (Latvia)
24. “Stone in a River” – Hovig (Cyprus)
23. “Don’t Say No” – Midnight Boy (Sweden)
22. “Next to You” – Jenny Langlo (Norway)
21. “Memories” – Nikki Kavanagh (Ireland)
That’s our first ten acts from the national final season out of the way then – do you agree with where these songs placed? Who do you think is still in with a shot of winning? Let us know in the comments section or on our Twitter and Facebook pages!
Love Hovig for sure <3 I like the winning song, but just can't stop giving my whole heart to Hovig :)))
Norsk Melodi Grad Prix is different from Dansk this year; the former's selection are all brilliant, but the latter…… Non of them refreshed me honestly. I think Anti Social Media did the best of them; Suitcase is nice but not as well-performed as The Way You Are during that night.
I'm going to watch A Dal tonight :)))
I’m really greatful to Wiwibloggs for this series. I watched only few finals of preselections, so now I’m having an occassion to catch up on listening to some songs unknown for me. Besides, now I am able to recall some of the songs which I’ve just forgotten, like “Memories”. I’m really curious who is going to be revealed on your list. In my TOP are Molly from Sweden and the artist who sang “Superman” in Romania. My winner is definately Andreas from Germany. It is such a pity that he resigned:/ Germany would have reached even top3 in Vienna. From… Read more »
just crossroads
IM STELLL HUNGRY BECAUSE DENMARK, FINLAND, HUNGARY, SWITSERLAND, CYPRUS, IRELAND, PORTUGAL, AUSTRIA, AND MOLDOVA CHOICE REALY BAD, FOR TAHT REASON THEY ARE IN THE LAST PREFERENCES OF ALL FANS
Timebelle,Anne,Nikki,Opera Skaala,Dollystyle (guilty pleausure),MILKI!!
I’m the only one who like Timebelle very much?? My favorite by far?? <3
Half Melfest should be on this list, but definitely not “Don’t Say No”, the cheapest act out of all of them.
and Mariette, don’t forget!
Wechselt die Beleuchtung from a germany as well as Quel Filou from austria were stunning
Shaya, Muzzart, Opera Skaala, Karin Park, Bianca Aztei, Nek, MNTHA, Daniel Levi, Elephants from Neptune and Miss M were also favorites

VOTEEE HERE
If Denmark chosen Suitcase it would’ve been my number 1 in my top 40
MESMERIZE. That’s all.
Here are some of my favourites that didn’t make it and should be in your top 30:
Jon Henrik/Eric (Sweden), Siru/Solju/Opera Skaala (Finland), Anne (Denmark), Kati (Hungary), Zoe (Austria), Nikki (Ireland), Shaya (Greece), Fahrenhaidt (Germany), Sunstroke Project (with that epic sax guy!) (Moldova), Nearchos & Charis (Cyprus), and Yola (Portugal). Thanks! 🙂
If Markus Riva represented Latvia, then it will look like Ukraine didn’t back out in this year’s contest, given the fact that he appears in the Ukrainian music scene. Besides, I think Ukraine never left at all because we have Eduard Romanyuta(sp?) and Polina Gagarina (who also appears in the Ukrainian music scene) anyway.
Suitcase, Fire, Stone In A River -> all phenomenal songs that would be much better than the song their country actually chose.
And Midnight Boy <333
And as much as I absolutely adore Molly, Nikki's Memories remains my favourite song of the year. <3
LAING (Germany) with Wechselt die Beleuchtung. Their stage presence alone would have rocked Vienna. >sigh<
HASSE!
(And if the words “Dinah Nah” appear anywhere on this list, you are dead to me, you hear? Dead. Most overrated anything in the history of ever. Fnibbledy-fnee.)
You better have Erika in the top 5
I wouldn’t be surprised if Crossroads (favorite song from UMK), Sting (it’s Eric after all), Don’t Stop Believing (favorite song besides Heroes), Break Me Up (ROBBED!), Human Beings (ROBBED!), and En Godt Stekt Pizza (favorite song from the MGP final) will finish in the top 10.
Nice to see Magnus and Midnight Cowboy are getting some love. I thought Markus Riva will finish higher but it’s in the top 30.
Opera Skaala and Siru from Finland!
Kati Wolf from Hungary
Karin Park, Jenny Langlo, Tor and Bettan and Marie Klåpbakken from Norway
Diana Brescan from Moldova
Kat Mahon and Nikki Kavanagh from Ireland
These are the biggest disappointments for me!! :). They are all great songs! 😀 🙂 😀 🙂 😀 🙂
Really pity that Regina did not qualify even to the final of Iceland’s Söngvakeppnin 2015…Poor her…Her song was so beautiful and i wanted to be her that would represent Iceland in the Diamond Vision of Vienna.. 🙁
From this bunch I like Fire, Thunderstruck and Suitcase.
Let’s see if my top favourites are among this list 😉
Oh man, National Final Season was really upsetting to me this year. Among my favourites were:
Jon Henrik, Dinah Nah, Molly and Elize & Rickard from Sweden
Anne from Denmark
Sunday from Iceland
Karin Park from Norway
Opera Skaala, Solju and Siru from Finland
Fahrenhaidt from Germany
MILKI from Belarus
Passed from Hungary
Shaya and Thomai from Greece
Zoe from Austria
They will forever live in my heart and my IPod <3
Iv’s song *Fire* on A Dal 2015 was very nice indeed…My 2nd favorite after Boggie’s..
~~ You Promised Me The Stars…
But I ‘ve Got Only Scars…! ~~
LMAO! 😀 😛 These lyrics are hilarious & funny! 🙂
My top 10 would probably be mostly composed of songs from UMK…
The hottie gay latvian babe Markus Riva had to win in SuperNova and represent Latvia in the Diamond Vision instead… I was sad that Denmark’s sweetheart princess Anne Gaddegard lost in the Dansk Grand Prix when the proud Danes people of Denmark had voted her as the true winner instead.. Her song managed to enter on the danish charts on #37 when the winning one of Anti Social Media boy band charted only on #38 spot that was one place below Anne’s *Suitcase*! <3 🙂 Dear Anne was the very first danish act that represented Denmark in the 1st maiden… Read more »
I was hoping for Ív for Hungary.
PS. Forget the asterix with Nikki Kavanagh, it was a mistake. Also, Frozen Silence is, of course, a German entry.
@Easpag I completely forgot about Muzzart! Feels like ages ago since the Belarussian NF.
Surely Elize & Rickard will place on this list! Still my favorite Melodifestivalen song this year.
In my opinion, these are the best songs from national finals I saw. Those with an asterix would have been a better representative than the one actually chosen. 1. Siru: Mustelmat (Finland) * 2. Markus Riva: Take Me Down (Latvia) * 3. Yula Diniz: Outra Vez Primavera (Portugal) * 4. Opera Skaala: Heart of Light (Finland) * 5. Karin Park: Human Beings (Norway) 6. Teresa Radamanto: Fado em Viena (Portugal) * 7. Mariette: Don’t Stop Believing (Sweden) 8. Staysman & Lazz: En Godt Stekt Pizza (Norway) 9. Aikuinen: Kyynelten Lahti (Finland) * 10. Fahrenhaidt: Frozen Silence */more of a tie… Read more »
I hope you put Opera Skaala somewhere in your top. ))
Crossroads and Sting definitely. You finish guys have really disappointed me 🙁
Feathers from iceland and mariette’s song!
I swear if you guys put Eric at number one I will lose all faith.
Also, if Muzzart aren’t on… well, let’s not think that far ahead.
But yeah, some nice songs here. Thought Anne or Marcus would be higher from how ye rated them back during NF season, but seems pretty good.
Jenny was robbed 🙁
