Sweden’s love-in with Melodifestivalen 2015 winner Måns Zelmerlöw isn’t stopping any time soon. Today his Eurovision song “Heroes” cracked 10 million streams on Spotify. It coincides with the song’s 40th consecutive day at number one on Swedish iTunes.
Anton Hård af Segerstad, one of the song’s authors, celebrated on Instagram. You may remember Anton as a former member of Le Kid, the Swedish pop band that came fifth in the first semi-final of Melodifestivalen 2011 with the song “Oh My God”.
For Anton, and his co-writers Joy and Linnea Deb, success on Spotify will translate into a few more coins. Although songwriters decry low pay rates from the streaming service — see this open letter, for instance — it’s an increasingly important part of their income. Streaming, which is dominated by Spotify, now accounts for 79% of Sweden’s recorded music market.
Can i trade Mans (Heroes) for Mariette (Don’t stop believing), cause right now i don’t have an winner… Norway, Estonia, Germany, Spain and Albania are in my top 5 now.

@Eugene
Sweden only has a population of around 10 million people compared to UK’s 60 million though.
@ Hello Eugene..
Nope…I only mentioned the songs of Melodifestivalen that are currently at the time inside the top100 of Sweden’s chart..
Obviously there were several others entries from Melodifestivalen 2015 inside the chart the previous weeks that have dropped now though..
*Can’t Hurt Me Now* of Jessica had actually debuted on the no86 on its first week..
*If I Was God 4 One Day* by Neverstore was on the no99..
Kristin Abaro’s *I See You* was on the charts too..
I think that the 2/3 of the M.F songs charted on this chart..
Im not so sure if Mans can really win in Vienna although he is considered one of the hot favorites to get the victory.. <3 🙂
But i expect him to finish on a rather high place in the top10 if it goes as planned 4 him 🙂
His song currently is my 2nd most liked on the 2nd semifinal and on my top10 overall <3 🙂
Thats really impressive 4 Mans Zemerlow & his *Heroes* ! <3 🙂 His song currently is # no4 on the official charts of Sweden sverigetopplistan and after staying on the no1 its the 6th week of his song staying on charts…It has certified platinum so far! {last year Sanna Nielsen with her *Undo* only reached gold status and her peak was no2..} I can see *Heroes* staying on the swedish charts certianly till the end of May 4 & 1,5 month more…Thats 7-8 weeks…When the song ends its reign will gonna get certified double x2 platinum! <3 🙂 ~ Hasse… Read more »
I never cared for contest winners anyway (except for Loreen) so I think I would feel fine if Mans wins this year. Otherwise, let Il Volo win. After all, I always thought that Eurovision needs another male winner once again.
Sweden will most likely win.. Yeah!
@Eugene ESC UK
and 18 million of them are Italian lol
Not convinced. Do Spotify and Youtunes addicts vote on ESC night? Do televoters reflect on all this popularity or just go with their instincts on the night. This song so reminds me of “Popular” in 2011…which came third. No amount of techno-whizzo can replace the fact that the song is repetitive and lacks soul. Top 5?: yes. Top 1?….we’ll see.
I like it, but I wonder if too many televoters might just get bored with strong Swedish entries. That’s never a problem we’ll have in the UK.
V. Klart Sverige kommer att vinna. Bara inte Norge, Slovenien,Albanien eller Georgien vinner
Could have a real chance of winning in may. Stockholm 2016
Sweden can not vote for their representative
Please, don’t let him win.
