It’s been three months since Nadav Guedj exploded onto the Viennese Eurovision stage and achieved Israel’s best result in seven (long) years. After his most recent release, the dance anthem “Summer Together,” Nadav is back with the just-as-uplifting “Good Vibes.” Golden boy hasn’t lost his shine just yet…
In true Nadav style, the song mashes different musical styles, but it all comes together like the JESC 2013 logo (that’s a puzzle reference, by the way). It starts with an innocent guitar-strum intro, which leads to a David Guetta style build-up before dropping to a funky Maroon 5-esque chorus. The Uptown Funk “Doh doh doh”s in the breakdown are the final ingredient in Nadav’s recipe for a sweet summer jam.
The song is all about summer fun and his lover with ‘blue eyes’ (sadly mine are hazel). Keywords ‘beach’ ‘sun’ ‘dance’ and ‘ladies’ should give you the general gist of the song – not too many complex metaphors, but what did you expect from ‘the king of fun?’ Nevertheless, it feels like Nadav has really found his sound (shame we can’t say that about everyone…), and is going to continue pumping out hit after hit for the foreseeable future. Well I’m not complaining!
GOOD VIBES LYRICS – NADAV GUEDJ
So lately I’ve been thinking about your blue eyes
Still waiting for the weekend I wish you’ll be mine
Cause we gonna hit the beach and I can feel the sun shine
I could do this over and over
over and over
over and over
again
When I see sun is shining I can feel the good vibes
I can feel the way your coming closer I get good vibes
I just wanna hold you tight
Dance under the sunlight
When I see sun is shining I can feel the good vibes
You see the waves are pumping and the sun strikes
Yeah all you pretty ladies raise your hands high
I wanna see you moving till the lights go down
Don’t you waste any second cause baby it’s time
We gonna do this over and over
over and over
over and over
again
We gotta keep the love together
Gonna make life so much better
If you feel the beat
Come on baby I want you to come closer
Cause baby I wanna be there with you
Nadav is the the best (and sexiest) newcomer rising from ESC 2015. I’m relieved this is the next proper single and not the Coca Cola tune. This is nice and uplifting (although I miss the high energy Golden Boy mediterranean groove a little bit) and I quite like it. Well done, Nadav. Looking forward for a whole album.
Charles, I’m talking about light-weight dance tunes that are made mostly for fun and dance since the dawn of POP music. I understand you were expecting deeper meaning-of-life kind of songs from the 17 year old pop singer but I think this is just perfect for his age and his musical style. In any case I think this is a sweet little pop candy with… good vibes.
@Nitzan: Pretty sure we’re not talking about the same kind of pop music … unless POP music in today’s standards means nothing but a 15-minute cheeseburger pleasure, entertaining but tomorrow-forgettable .. that’s not the pop music I grew up with. And I clearly don’t want to hear Nadav and start thinking of Bruno Mars … even Madonna in her heydays was making pop music that thankfully did not bring anybody’s else name to mind …
Come on, people have become lazy and … don’t mind singer lip-syncing in supposed “live” performances … is this the POP music you’re talking about?
Charles, it’s called pop music.
Nadavito was from the acts that stood out in Vienna’s Vision..
He was charming ‘boy’…More like a guy 😉
His song *Golden Boy* was really good song 🙂
He did just great with finishing in the top10 as 9th..! 🙂
And the fact that his song managed to get voted by so many ogae fun clubs getting many points overall that was just really impressive! 🙂
A wonderful voice … yet … is there anything more substantial and meaningful in his repertoire that can tell me this kid really knows how to carry a song and make it more than just a piece of gum that i can throw out after some minutes? Or is this still so 16 years old that the only purpose in life for him is to be the so called “king of fun”? Hopefully he will mature and understand how powerful music can be after you have lived and learned that being a golden boy in the real life has far… Read more »
This is actually pretty good!
