Swedish broadcaster SVT have released the documentary Melodifestivalen 2015 – Måns väg till vinst (Måns’ way to winning). As well as following the Melfest journey of Måns Zelmerlöw, it also takes a look back at the stars of Melfest 2015, and introduces stars of 2016.
Måns talks about how winning Melfest changed his career – going from being perceived as a TV host, who struggled to get audiences to his solo shows, to reviving his career as a legit pop star, playing to adoring crowds of thousands.
The intrepid reporter also gets the lowdown on Måns’ Instagram pics, including his DIY projects and the infamous pic of Måns serving coffee in his underwear.

But it’s not all Måns. The documentary also relives Melfest 2015, having backstage moments with the stars of 2015. Eric Saade, Jon Henrik Fjällgren, Hasse Andersson, Mariette – among others – share the Melfest magic.
The show also checks in with the line-up of Mello 2016, the old pros, the current stars and the newcomers, as well as catching up with Måns and Petra Mede as they get ready to host Eurovision 2016.
While the documentary is in Swedish, it’s still enjoyable to watch for the backstage antics and – of course – the music.

The documentary was quite dull. but it proved once and again that Sweden was the right winner this year. Good that Italy and Russia did not win.
