The Wiwi Jury — our in-house panel of music unprofessionals — is still in Hungary reviewing A Dal performances. Today we listened to Passed who have returned to A Dal with “Driftin'”. Their song made it to the semi-finals through the audience vote, but what did we think of it? Read on to find out…

“Driftin'” reviews
Robyn: “Mesmerize” was one of my faves from 2015, but one year on, I was expecting a song that didn’t just sound like “Mesmerize – Part 2”. The group’s dreamy style is still appealing, but they need to do more with it than just rehash their 2015 sound.
Score: 4/10
Angus: Who needs medical anaesthetic when you have Passed on repeat? This has me “Driftin” into a deep sleep and despite the vibey harp and dreamy vocal it fails to make an impact.
Score: 2/10
Antranig: I didn’t like “Mesmerize” last year and I don’t like “Driftin'” this year. The lead singer has a great voice but Passed’s music is not up my alley. At best, it’s a nice lullaby — at worst, it’s luring me into some sort of creepy trance. Either way, I’m yawning before the three minutes are up. I just hope they don’t get to the Final again.
Score: 4.5/10
Judit: This sweet, young band is a special diamond in the field. You can say that “Driftin'” is similar to Mesmerize, but it’s their style, and they still have a lot of time to improve. Okay, they won’t go to Stockholm, but A Dal is the best place for them to practice, and a few years later, they can win. Although I’m so glad they have kept their own style.
Score: 7/10
Cristian: They probably thought that adding the harp would have given the song a touch of alternative it needed but it doesn’t work like this. This entry is repetitive, annoying, a poor imitation of contemporary worldwide famous hits made by a new generation of DJs and producers. This is not what we and Hungary need.
Score: 5/10
Mikhail: Passed have a very interesting style. There is definitely something captivating in this song and especially the arrangement. It feels like the song was recorded in a cave with waterdrops falling and making some magical sounds. But it is still not enough.
Score: 7.5/10

I like it. It is not like anything else in A Dal and is a welcome addition to the contest. I think this is better than Mesmerize and as Judit said, it they continue to improve year upon year, Eurovision is in their future!
