You don’t need tickets to this disco! During her first rehearsal at Eurovision 2016, Finland’s Sandhja was holding back but we could still feel the energy. Wearing a light blue jump suit with an open back, Sandhja serves discotheque realness with major swagger. The silver shards that run from her neck to just south of her breasts add a flash of 70s glam which really fits with this. She drops it like it’s hot and employs a series of female backing dancers — lots of girl on girl! — that adds sizzle to this sultry number.
In terms of staging, Sandhja starts out solo giving us face, face, face. Then when her dancers arrive the energy goes up a notch. Sadly her dancers don’t really fill the stage. I kept having flashbacks to Mei Finegold from Israel back in 2014. The wide shots make the massive stage seem somewhat empty, particularly during the bridge of the song when Sanhja walks down the catwalk alone and to a platform in the middle of the audience. The floor is largely black and flashes with geometric pink, yellow and orange shapes. At one point there is a massive pink triangle. Coupled with all the lady-on-lady thrusting, one could argue there’s a subtle LGBT reference going on.
Underrates entry that could surprise. it’s catchy and makes you feel good
The dress is one step away from camel toe though!
Is she pregnant?
one of the few songs this year that makes you dance and feel good. If Sandhja were from Russia or Sweden she’d be a favorite and winner in everyone’s eyes. Yet she’s getting very scarce recognition even when all participants is being highlighted. I feel sad for a Finland. they have such a nice song and so little support from international community. I consider this song as one of the possible winners or top 10 act. In the world where no one looks at the country name and just listen to music and voice, it’s what Sandhja deserves. her voice… Read more »
The dancers are really off-putting indeed, at least from what I’ve seen.
okay from what’s been revealed on the Eurovision channel… yikes
that leotard pantsuit whatever she’s wearing is a little too tight
loving the neon in the background tho
it’s a great opener song
I think she has a shot, I see her in top 10 in juries, not in televoting. But maybe enough to be 9th or 10th overall.
We’ll have one or two shock suprises in this semifinal and probably one of the favourites to qualify will fail.
It is not bad. I actually really like it but I can’t see it qualifying in such a tough Semi final. Finland has only few supporters in that Semi (Sweden and Iceland) but that won’t be enough I guess. I hope they will make it even though I prefer a few other songs in this Semi final (Czech Republic, Armenia, Netherlands, Cyprus, Hungary, Estonia,…) It is on par with some others for me (Greece, Montenegro, Croatia, Iceland..).
Will there be 30-sec videos today?
Nicky91what do u mean her visitor massage?? Im just ciries:)
@georgekirkas
just write a comment below my topic on semi final 1 qualifiers 🙂
@Darcy
this must qualify so vote for it 🙂
This song is definitely one of the more underrated in the contest but have a feeling this will place 11-12 in the semi-final.
@Nicky91
Thank you very much, I found it! I want to write a comment in the article about the qualifiers of Semi-Final 1, how do I do that?
@georgekirkas

@Nicky91
I don’t really understand the forum. Aren’t there articles like here on Wiwibloggs?
Nicky , i agree with you she has a fantastic song together with a fantastic voice . All i am saying is she is in a very tough group not only for the songs but also close countries voting for each other.
@Babychops
Semi of death, i don’t understand that, if you and your friends just vote enough for this song, it will qualify 🙂 🙂
Sandhja, is very underrated and i hope she slays on the night
Come on finland lets go back to the German disco beat of the 90’s i.e Milli Vanilli shame they are in the semi of death, as this would easily progress from the poor second semi.
yeah great to hear this, i can see this qualifying, nice catchy rhythm and a bit of disco amazing 🙂 🙂
