Montenegro‘s Highway blasted through their first rehearsal at Eurovision 2016, delivering fast light changes, sharp camera angles and plenty of energy. A female performer provides backing vocals and dances, helping to give the boys an object of desire — and perhaps countering claims their song is misogynistic.

The performance begins focused on the female addition. Dancing like she is trapped inside a straight jacket, the camera pans out to the entire band going for gold on their musical instruments. Petar — the group’s lead singer — displays competence and control with his deep and powerful voice, adding a severe heavy metal element to the song.

Illuminated in blue and red, the stage seemed to breathe along with the band and the singer, giving some life to a song that has struggle to light the Eurovision fandom on fire.

Kind of song that all you add it’s positive, because the song itself is weird and unbearable, so keep adding things, make it a crazy staging, maybe someone will buy its “baroque” condition.

I didn’t really like their song, but it has grown on me and their rehearsal was also pretty good.
