He’s the Hungarian singer of Roma descent who secured a top ten finish for his country back in 2017. And since then Joci Pápai has released hit after hit, including the tracks as “Özönvíz” or “Látomás”, proving that Eurovision can really help power a career.
And just to prove the point, Joci has stopped to look back at the eighteen months that have just passed, during which he experienced a precipitous rise on the Hungarian music scene.
In his new song “Kirakós” (Puzzle), he sings about a love that was always around him, but hiding. As he sings: “Because of you, my dream is beautiful, the puzzle has come together, a part of my world is waiting for you”.
Is he referring on his wife or just music and fortune in general? It’s up to the listener to guess.
The music is signature Joci Pápai with a unique mix of hip-hop and Gypsy folk. The video is very particularly special for fans, as it features footage of his A Dal victory, and plenty of behind-the-scenes looks at his Eurovision adventure. It’s all interspersed with concert footage and, at the very end, a message thanking his fans.
