Eurovision fans won’t have to wait very long anymore before hearing the last song of this Eurovision 2020 season. Local media reports Russia’s Little Big will release their entry on 12 March.
Press agency TASS says that the song release will happen on Thursday evening. They received the information from Perviy Kanal, the Eurovision broadcaster in Russia, during a press event.
TASS is Russia’s largest news agency and one of the largest press agencies around the world. It counts Reuters, the Associated Press and Agence France-Presse as peers.
Little Big is expected to appear on Vecherniy Urgant. Hosted by Eurovision 2009 presenter Ivan Urgant, Vecherniy Urgant is the biggest late-night talkshow in the Russian-speaking world.
Why is there so much hype around Little Big’s song?
It is no wonder that Eurovision fans are very excited to hear the song. In the latest odds round up we published on wiwibloggs, Russia was in the top 5 with the betting agencies. And that is no surprise as the country is one of the biggest powerhouses of the contest.
In 2018 Little Big had viral success with their song “Skibidi”, which has scored more than 360 million views on YouTube. Their songs are there for a good laugh. The group’s signature sound is lively songs that use rave styles, punk, satire and humour. “Skibidi” was pure satire, as they are making fun of things. One thing is for certain, at Eurovision they will be remembered.
Currently, the group is one of the most loved acts in their home country. The act appeals to many audiences across Russia. Even politicians have expressed their excitement for the entry!
On top of that, Little Big are not just big in Russia, but have a following all over the world. Their songs have even been featured in the game Just Dance.
Are you excited to hear Little Big’s Eurovision song? Do you think that Russia can win the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Rotterdam? Let us know in the comments down below!
The Russian entry by Little Big is now official. It’s called “UNO”. Go and check it out. I think I won’t put in my Top 20. What about you guys?
God bless Italy , love uk
Quite late now already, isn’t it? And it’s even later in Russia… Does anyone still believe in a presentation today?
Wait, it will be soon reveal
Channel One has confirmed the presentation in Vecherny Urgant at 23:30 MSK. It’s a late night show, after all.
So 21:30 CET ??
Yes
It’s on air at the moment. It seems it’s called UNO and they really try to be funny. Well, maybe they are. But I prefer Lithuania and Iceland. 🙂
It was leaked before but no one was sure it was THE song.
tbh its only Russia. kick them out the contest if they want to be so snobbish about releasing their song. I think this time its not going to be saving the best til last
Which day was announcement deadline 8th or 9th of March? Why is Russia so special? Why the same rules don’t apply to everyone? ?
I wish in the future there’s a limited time frame during which all countries have to announce, like 1-2 weeks, so that some countries would stop scheming, playing, choosing their songs in accordance what has already been released. It is not fair to be last one and do all these strategies.
The song will be in style dance-rock and metal disco!
Today they told on an interview that the song is in a new but at the same time old genre for them. As for their appearance, they said it’s “disco metal”. The choreography is going to include “simple moves”.
This is their first interview on the radio (finished a few minutes ago): https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=225&v=JxPX0u8YpCM&feature=emb_logo
The premiere of the song/clip is on First Channel (can be viewed online 1tv.ru) at 21:30 CET. This is the time when the show starts. It lasts 40 minutes and most likely the song will be premiered on the last minutes of the show.
We, in Italy, have other things to think about … unfortunately ?
If they really wanted to make an impact, couldn’t they leave the reveal until April, when the official CD comes out?
I honestly prefer waiting for a high quality song with original performance than a rushed song with awful performance that will get revamped right after.
My Top 5
Russia
Iceland
Lithuania
Romania
Bulgaria
Did you listen to Russia’s song?
Serena00 No, I just hope Little Big wins the Eurovision Song Contest 2020!
I want 1 thing. LB song placing above Netflix. Simple wish;))))
So annoying that Russia is holding the release and all songs release… so snobbish, as always… think they are special…
Okay, I’ve just checked out other songs by them… both live and studio. Very excited for thier song. I think a new favorite for me is incoming
I can’t wait ! And I’m not even Russian !
Want too!
I don’t know.. they might do well in Televoting, but juries will absolutely trash this if they come up with something like SKIBIDI
One of the reasons juries like Toy was that as well the quirky staging, Netta hit all the big, long notes. I’m not convinced that any of Little Big are such good singers, but we’ll soon see.
https://youtu.be/tut7M-LLwSk Heres the full song! Its not good
That is just someone who has taken the snippet and looped it.
Even if that is just a snippet…i really hope that’s not part of the song because that snippet sounds like trash
The female leading singer said on Instagram that this isnt the song for Eurovision. No material was leaked. We just have to wait til tomorrow.
They could premiere it in semi final. Attention whores!
Any news about Athena’s revamped song? It’s she going to perform it on the semifinal?
Uhm, people, you all heard the snippet. News flash! The rest of this song will be pretty much the same. Uno! Dos! Tres! Quatro! Some Toy-Box style high pitched female vocals, stupid 4/4 bass drum, artifical horns section and that’s it. Pseudo-Latin jokey bop. It will somehow get to to the grand final and then it’s going to sink in the right half of the scoreboard. Here, I spoiled it for you.
What snippet?
this one (0:44) https://youtu.be/UecZHBsymmU
“UNO” ain’t the official song. They’ve already debunked that.
1. Bulgaria
2. Azerbaijan
3. Germany
4. Denmark
5. Greece
6. Romania
7. Croatia
8. Norway
9. Lithuania
10. Australia
Maybe you should watch it in the bathroom.
Which can it be?
1. We have a winner already.
2. We’ve not seen the winner already and Russia will deliver an absolutely clear winner on Thursday.
3. We will have all the songs and no strong favourite.
“Loreen-style absolutely-clear winner” 😀 Nooo way. You should expect a fun entry, something different for Eurovision and fresh for this year, but not a winner 🙂
(By “Loreen style” I just meant in relation to how obvious it was that she would win, not the style of music.) hoping for a fun strong entry from Little Big 🙂
I didn’t follow the race in 2012 but Russia came so close to beat Loreen in televote. We can’t never be 100% sure about the winner. and even more nowadays that Televote and Juries disagree a lot.
Quite a lot has changed since 2012, though Alex.
yeah, I know what you mean. They will definitely grab a lot of televoting ponits, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they come last with jury votes in the final. It is hard to predict without having listened to the song though. TBH I find Switzerland and Lithuania VERY STRONG entries. If the former delivers brilliant live performance with an excellent staging, it is a clear winner for me. Yet, I think your 3rd scenario is also possible – no clear favorites and someone wins with a narrow margin (like Azerbaijan 2011). And that someone can be Switzerland, Lithuania, Iceland,… Read more »
It seems like it’s gonna be No.3. With Lithuania, Iceland & Bulgaria battling it out.
Giiiiirl, I hope it won’t happen.. Iceland or Lithuania will win….. In my heart I feel Reykjavik 2021 is what’s gonna happen…
I’m trying to not be too excited and getting just hopes up too high but, I am freakin pumped for this reveal!
I really don’t get the hype over Little Big or is it Big Little? Anyways, I find their “music” offensive and to a degree – as a prank call. Thus, I see no way this would go TOP10 if it weren’t Russia. Such is Eurovision – Belarus, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Moldova and a few other countries in East Europe + Germany will vote for Russia despite their awful entries from time to time.
I wouldn’t count Lithuania out in this regard. If Russia’s song is over the top or too crazy, the big points from ex-soviet countries may go to Lithuania, which is also crazy, but normal amount of crazy.
I don’t think Lithuania is ex-soviets’ beloved, no way it is so.
Georgia, Ukraine, Belarus, Latvia and Estonia will give them a lot of points. Also, Lithuania always gets lots of diaspora points (more than Russia actually) as they have patriotic Lithuanians living in Poland, UK, Ireland etc
yes higher than it would’ve been without Irish and Polish 8-10-12 points.
Kemama revamp is out
People be sleeping on Kemama.
Literally nothing changed
Some of the lightbulbs were changed.
They just change some melody by adding some cheesy fifa games guitar lol… so it feels a bit like the song come from african country or smth …
He has got Angolan roots, thats the reason …
I think it would be a clever move by them to release a clip of them performing the song live, rather than an expensively produced video of them miming.
Why are you all complaining ? Russia is giving you the opportunity to make big money with the betting odds up to 10 times your bet . Grab that unique chance because in 2 days the bookies will cry and will make a 1/1
Russia is kind and also want to not kill too soon the hopes of other countries.
Are you here for creating a “bad image” of “crazy Russian Eurofans” 🙂 Don’t believe you are Russian actually.
He’s a CIA agent! American provocateur!
His extremely Russian nickname kind of gives it away 🙂 yeah, just a regular web troll I guess
“Their songs have even been featured in Just Dance” Did I miss something except SKIBIDI?
About this late release date… Well, I know that one of the members had a wedding on Sunday, the other is having clinical treatment, but I believe the real reason for this situation is that the song or the video needed some amendments in order to comply with regulations of EBU/Channel One (those who are familiar with LB’s repertoire will understand what I mean).
Are you ready for a little chat in a song about the internet? It’s a story about a social door you’ve never seen before…
Haha, that was good
Channel One had to present the song to EBU at HoD’s meeting this Monday, so all the regulations must have been complied by then. They are not allowed to change something after that
Yes. They did submit the audio before the deadline. But what about the video clip? It isn’t as easy to change.
I’m not expecting nothing from them, so if it’s something good they can take their time
you’re all hilarious!
Remember when Armenia released Artsvik’s song the Friday after the HOD meeting?
It’s hardly news for a broadcaster to do this!
What is the criterion for musically acceptability? Your taste?
I think some people just need to tone it the hell down, the song will be released when it’s released, Russia always waits until the very end to release their song, there really isn’t any advantage or disadvantage when it comes to the contest itself, and a couple of days won’t do anyone any harm. I think Lithuania and Iceland should be very worried about this, if it’s good it will make those acts stand out less, and I’m expecting something very televoter friendly, I’m sure Russia know they have to have a product that gets a satirical message across… Read more »
At this point, they’re setting themselves up for drags. If the song is not a literal perfection, it’s over for them.
😀 why? Because of the 0.1% of the audience who hear the songs prior to the competition?
Why is Russia hiding in the bushes? Do they have a song or not? Or is this part of their behaviour: first spy, than get to the actions! This long delay is an insult towards the fans! For this reason, I will not vote for Russia this year. Keep your song! No need for it!
1. The song was submitted to EBU on March 7
2. There’s a tradition: the songs chosen by Channel 1 are premiered by the broadcaster on a special show. The nearest date they can do it is March 12 (actually i believe it’s March 13 but anyway)
3. The band has 5 members and dozens of people working with them. They live in different locations and the confirmation about them representing Russia came as a surprise not only for us, but also for them 🙂
4. One of the members of the band had a wedding party on Sunday
3. So big surprise for them so even in December you could see a biiig gap from February till end of May in tour dates
They are not touring all the time. They usually have breaks for writing albums.
what a coincidence)
They started to shoot the video on March 3. If they knew they were to go to Eurovision, it would’ve been silly to wait so long to make a video clip.
So you think russia one just annouced them as the russian act without their consent?
we dont need your vote anyway ))))
I absolutely don’t wait for their song, I don’t care.
I’m interested in something completely different: Why does the European Broadcasting Union not punish Russia for not submitting their song until March 9, 2020, as all countries did. So for Russia, the rules are not written at Eurovision ???
Privileges again ???
get informed 1st before posting or u just make yourself look stupid.
Submitting it to the EBU and publishing it it has nothing to do with each other. They could keep it as a secret until the semi finals. They don’t have to make it public.
We are delighted to hear about the amount of toilet breaks you will be having. Please share more about it.
A vocal IBS advocate and ESC fan!
hah what a great nickname u have! fast food music ftw!
Reading all the comments about Russia shouldn’t reveal their entry so late makes me realise that Eurovision fans are so entitled sometimes.
the only entitlement i see is from those who want to be the very last to release their song
But deadline was till March 9, so yeah, eurovision fans can expect for it to be revealed by then, not to be made waiting. They’re doing it on purpose, to be the last to reveal the song and build a hype around it and it isn’t nice
It turns out Russia to refuse Eurovision 2020?
No, I’m not excited. Russia is making us expect the song as the last entry to be revealed because they want to make themselves special. And they are but entry isn’t worth the wait. If this would’ve come from an artist who we know is going to go serious and not for a joke I’d care. Hyping this is feeding into their ego, and I’m not doing that so byeeeee
Take it easy, guys) Let’s think about they are preparing smth special for our joy like youtube video post-production – no need to hurry
Just realised that Little Big is an Ali Express version of Aqua. I mean, a guy with a rusty vocal with a pretty, doll like girl with a high pitched vocal. Their style is more electronic and extreme but that just makes them less appealing for wider crowds. It’s just bad Aqua, that’s all it is.
I can’t wait for the song. Lord! I’m dying. I’m sure, it’ll be a hit!
They make parody songs, but it’s eurovision, it’s a SONG contest. Russia has so many good singers and they send this… I watched their 2 music videos and I don’t think I like it. Srr for my English. And guys don’t hate or what, it’s ok if you like it, everyone has different taste of music. I just expressed my opinion and maybe somebody can agree with me 🙂
Ahhh and what did i expect from people? They only hate hate and hate. I said that it’s MY opinion. But of course people hate just because my opinion doesn’t match to their… Immature what can I say :/
I think there are some misconceptions. First, yes the deadline passed but that was for them to submit their entry, they don’t have make it public by that time. Second, there are a couple different reasons why they won’t reveal until Wednesday outside from just trying to hype it up. Because to be honest releasing last doesn’t always help an entry because people tend to warm up most to song that have been released or known for a while now. They could still be working on the music video. Also I think if there is much hype they probably are… Read more »
i don’t really get this. it’s not like waiting two more days after the last song was revealed will give them an advantage…
Trust me they would love to be able to drop the song earlier.
Was the song submission deadline midnight on the 9th March?
Yap. So, they submitted it to EBU on March 9, but will make presentation…
No they submitted it prior to that date but we won’t be able to hear the song until the 12th or 13th (seen two different dates)
This is very disrespectful towards the fans
They have never promised to release the song on march 9. Most of their fans don’t care about release date.
So true <3
What I saw of Little Big on YouTube is appalling.. Besides already seen Moscow this past year.. Russia will definitely get to the final, DIASPORAAAA, but I pray to whatever God is listening.. Please no victory..! Destined for an Icelandic or Lithuanian win IMHO
Sorry it’s destiny after last year Sergey’s robbery.
Lol, I predict your “destiny” is to finish 3rd again. The only “silly” song that I recall winning the contest in recent years was Toy. And Toy had some vocal and production values that appealed both to juries and viewers. Little Big are making silly songs with no much value, they are just silly.
Lovely) Let’s speak about “vocal and production values” of Lithuanian performance
I’m fine with Malta too, you said Destiny right?!? Sergey wasn’t robbed at all, if anything he was helped to third place by diaspora.. Scream wasn’t on the same level as She got me, Too late for love, Proud or Spirit in the sky to name but a few
Lovely) How many points as a jury would you give and what would you say the juries who put zero points, darling?)
More than excited indeed!
A “Skibidi” type of song can be so distinctive in a dull year (full of ballads) that can raise the public / stand out and finally win the whole competition.
I am more than looking forward to listening to the Russian entry this year!
