melodifestivalen-2021-semi-final-2-studio

The second semi-final of Melodifestivalen 2021 takes place this Saturday in Stockholm. Seven acts are set to take to the stage, all hoping to secure one of four spots in the next rounds of the contest.

Two will advance direkt till final. Two will have to fight another day in the duels at andra chansen. And three acts will advance no further and have to pack their bags.

You’ve read the media reviews, you’ve heard the audio snippets and you’ve watched the rehearsal clips. So now we want to know who you think should win semi-final two of Melfest 2021.

Are you signing up for Anton Ewald’s new religion? Do you think Julia Alfrida is rich with talent? Is the 90’s calling you like it is WAHL feat. SAMI? Are you hoping the Swedish public won’t stay silent in their support for Frida Green? Is the “Rena rama ding dong” refrain from Eva Rydberg & Ewa Roos still stuck in your head? Have you got the tissues ready for the tears that might fall if Patrik Jean doesn’t qualify? Or are you joining the other little tot’s in support of Dotter?

You can show your love for as many of Saturday night’s acts as you like in our poll below, but make it count because you can only vote once. We’ll close the poll and reveal the results in advance of Saturday night’s semi-final.

Poll: Who should win semi-final 2 of Melodifestivalen 2021?

It surprises me to say it but Dotter is about as close to a DTF lock as you’re going to get. She’s popular, it’s professionally-produced and it looks the part. I think Eva and Ewa pull the surprise and join her. Frida and Julia are probably going to take up two of the non-qualifying spots. Their songs seem pretty weak and there’s not a lot of hype there. AC will be between the other three. Obviously, Wahl and Sami are probably the less-favoured of the three but at the same time, I think their rehearsal looked the most promising. Might… Read more »

Just based on snippets, I think your predictions will likely pan out well. 🙂

Does Sweden still use a weighted by age group vote system for their app voting? If so, I wouldn’t be surprised if Eva & Ewa go DTF.

Dotter can win all of Melodifestivalen this year

Intresting Eva och Ewa in second cance. Actually, I think they will go to the final.,I don’t say that they are my choice but I believe they will gett a lot of hearts because the make us happy. That’s all.
My choice is Dotter. But I think she will go to andra chansen. People compare with bullet prof and Swedes are hard if you come back the year after att success.
I think about Yohio, Ace Wilder, Mariett, Anton Edvall.
I think that it is only Erik Saade that have managed the year after at success in melfest.

All of those went straight to final after sucess. Mariette even did it five times. Dotter has a better song than last year and should have more appeal to all

Robin Bengtsson, Benjamin Ingrosso and John Lundvik all followed up successes with a win the subsequent year.

I know that Melfest results can often be unpredictable, but I’d be surprised if Dotter doesn’t qualify DTF. The song sounds solid from the clip and she can make it work on stage. The lyrics are also good and much like in Bulletproof, have a deeper meaning behind them.

The act I am looking forward to are Eva & Ewa. Their song sounds fun and silly. Imagine if both these ladies and guys from TuVeia qualify tomorrow. Ha ha ha … 😉

I don’t like any of the songs in this semi, but if I had to choose, Eva & Ewa and Anton should go DTF while Dotter and Patrik should go to AC. I did not expect these songs to be that bad that 2 grandmas singing schlager would be my favourites

When no clips of live performances were shown, Anton’s song was the only one I liked in this semi, but now, I also like Dotter’s song, even more than Anton’s.

Dotter should go directly to final. I don’t care for the rest.

DTF: Dotter & Anton
AC: Patrik & Julia or Frida
I’m still on the fence with Frida due to the simplicity of her staging. She will either succeed due to her involvement with Sweden’s Got Talent or flop like Nathalie did in SF1.

“Have you got the tissues ready for the tears that might fall if Patrik Jean doesn’t qualify? ”
Seriously??? these words are so mean! Patrick’s performance has to be one of DTF or at least AC.

I think you’ve misunderstood the sentence, it means that if Patrick doesn’t advance to the final or andra chancen, you’d cry because you would want him to qualify to either one

I get what it means… I believe I am not the only one who would like to see Patrick qualifies. The result of semi final 1 was shocking, I don’t want that happen again.

no one should be described like an underdog before the show. it’s just a little personal, and I prefer that assumption fails.

He isn’t described as an underdog, it’s just a reference to his song, which name is “Tears Run Dry”. It’s kinda like a word play.

Being an underdog isn’t a bad thing. People like to root for underdogs.

Sad that Julia & Frida are being so overrated in the poll. They are my favs with Dotter. Hope Sweden chooses correctly in this semi.
Tears run dry sounds great too!

I voted for my top four (Dotter, Anton, Julia and Patrik Jean). But I do also enjoy the remaining 3 acts so it’s no hate towards them.

Yeah. Hopefully it’s a 7-way tie and all of them go direkt to final.
