Poll: Who was best dressed on the Eurovision 2021 Moroccanoil Turquoise Carpet?
Photos: Diego Pinzon Pabon

On Sunday 16 May, the class of Eurovision 2021 treated us to a fabulous display of fashion. The Moroccanoil Turquoise Carpet saw this year’s song contest competitors take to the floor and show off their best Eurovision eleganza ahead of next week’s live shows.

Barbara Pravi delivered Christian Dior elegance, Albina went iridescent, and Go_A served post-apocalyptic haute couture. Elsewhere, Jendrik paid tribute to the acts missing out on tonight’s event, and Manizha brought a traditional-modern fashion fusion. But who looked the best? Vote for your favourite fashion in our poll now!

Scroll down to vote in our poll.

Eurovision 2021 Opening Ceremony: Fashion on the Turquoise Carpet

On Sunday, 34 competing artists walked the Moroccanoil Turquoise Carpet.

Unfortunately, five acts were missing. Romania’s Roxen and Malta’s Destiny were forced to self-isolate after a guest in their shared hotel tested positive for COVID-19. Meanwhile, Poland’s Rafal and Iceland’s Daði og Gagnamagnið sat out after members of their respective delegations also tested positive. Australia’s Montaigne and her team did not travel to Rotterdam owing to travel restrictions.

However, isolation didn’t stop the stars from sharing their looks. From the comfort of their hotel rooms, Roxen, Rafal and Destiny all shared what they planned to wear at tonight’s event!

You can get a closer look at all 37 of the artists’ looks in our master post or on wiwibloggs’ Instagram and Twitter.

My highlight was Roxen and her bathroom photoshoot! But Ana, Barbara, Blas and Stefania were ellegant as usual, Benny always look good on his casual wardrobe and Victoria also looked gorgeous by standing with her style.

Maneskin always look cool, they never get fashion wrong. The Black Mamba as a collective were also very appealing, loved the diversity of colors. And from the more avant-garde group, I think Vaidotas and Vasil looked great.

And, last but not least, a shout-out to Tornike for wearing a mask.

Oh, nevermind, I did some research and he posted his outfit on social media (it still sucks)

My vote went to:

Albania (I don’t get why people hate the dress, it’s amazing!)
Cyprus (Elena is already magnificent without wearing something extravagant and showed that)
Greece (One of the best clearly, it suited her perfectly)
San Marino (Senhit is an icon, she can make every ugly dress look like something a model would wear)
Ukraine (Do I need to say anything about them?)

For a second I felt bad about voting for “just” a black dress, but it looks so stunning and if you do so, nobody could feel bad about it lol ^^ Here’s hope for Ana to qualify!

Samanta’s outfit is depicting her as tge harbinger and she wanted to make it looking royal and divine. Initially, it was going to be the stage outfit for the performance. Unfortynately, on camera it looked unflattering, so she decided to make the long dress.

She did not, she is just offering her followers to vote. Everyone of the participants are welcome to do it. In this case, that is everbody’s opinion.

Well she first had to gain fans who would vote in these polls, so that’s her best work. Getting loyal fans is not an easy task

Everybody looked sooo great and spread love in every corner. That`s why I love Eurovision.

Albina, you are so beautiful, unfortunately this look was not my favourite at all, but the most important is, that you felt comfortable, and you did!
I hope everybody could enjoy the evening even with a lot of restrictions.

And Tornike looked great as always and I really hope he is enjoying this experience. He deserves to be there, and he deserves having a better song too. A lot of love to Georgia and all other participants.

Efendi, Stefania and Anxhela looked beautiful. Actually all of them looked beautiful.

I’m so excited for tomorrow and at the same time sad for the 6 acts whose Eurovision journey will in a way already end tomorrow.

I wish we could have all songs in the final. 🙁

As for the fasion – 2021 certainly seems like the year of the jumpsuit.

Standouts for me would be Lesley, looking powerful and confident, The Roop serving art gallery executive realness, Jeangu and his brother, looking sleek and making their jumpsuits look fashion-forward, Samanta living her Elsa Queen fantasy, Manizha and her crew looking absolutely stunning and fabulous, and Gjon’s take on the Maltese flag.

And Senhit, of course, looking like San Marinese royalty, teaching people Adrenalina as she went!

I thought they all looked fabulous, it’s just a pleasure and a joy to have the 38 in Rotterdam! In a way, the best thing to see them wearing was all those smiles – they look so delighted!

Anxhela was simply ravishing, and so was Ana Soklic, with her elegance. Efendi is beautiful, and her dress looked very lovely too. Maneskin were really well dressed, and a few guys in suits looked dapper too. From the more extravagant ones, I’d say I liked Manizha’s outfit the best.

Very disappointing to see that few people were wearing masks. It doesn’t make a difference if you’re at the arena or walking down a turquoise carpet. Hope everyone keeps safe so that nobody misses out on a great opportunity!
