We started the week with thirteen acts. And now, after two spectacular semi-finals, we’re down to just eight performers for the grand final of Spain’s Benidorm Fest 2022. The newly revived festival has completely eclipsed the country’s most recent national selection efforts. By the end of what’s sure to be a magnificent night of both music and drama, we’ll have one more track to add to our Eurovision 2022 playlists.

Here’s when and how you can watch the grand final of Benidorm Fest 2022.

Benidorm Fest 2022 Grand Final | Livestream

Grand Final — 29 January 2022

Time: 22:15 CET to 23:45 CET

The programme will be streamed live on RTVE Play. It will be available to watch worldwide.

There are eight acts performing in the final. The running order is:

  1. Rayden “Calle de la llorería” TBD

  3. Varry Brava “Raffaella”
  4. Chanel “SloMo”
  5. Rigoberta Bandini “Ay mamá”
  6. Xeinn “Eco”
  7. Gonzalo Hermida “Quién lo diría”
  8. Blanca Paloma “Secreto de agua”

As in the semi-finals, the result will be determined by an expert jury, a demoscopic panel and public televoting. Guest acts on the night will include Pastora Soler (Eurovision 2012), Mocedades (Eurovision 1973), Blas Cantó (Eurovision 2020 and 2021) and Nia y Nyno Vargas.

Ay Mama just climbed into #3 on Spotify.
It made 460k streams yersterday. Massive.
Already a win even tho it’s not winning tonight. People here loves the song beyond any contest. That’s the most important thing

Predicting the winner is almost impossible. Tanxugueiras will win the televote and it feels like Chanel and Gonzalo are in a better position in the demoscopic, and this leaves Rigoberta in a really bad situation. Looks like we’re going to have a new The Mamas/Dotter moment.

Yes. It will be this close.
Chanel, Tanxugueiras and Rigoberta all have chances. Any tiny voting detail will decide it tonight

What are you saying? Rigoberta won the jury and the televote and was 2nd in the demoscopic jury during the 2nd semi. So, I wouldn’t say Tanxugueiras will win the televote…

The last time Spain had a European fan favorite (Mirela) and chose the wrong song (Do it for your lover), Spain ended up being dead last in the final…. So if y’all want the same thing to happen in 2022 with Ay Mama go ahead, but Chanel is literally standing right there waiting to be TOP 10!

You can’t compare it, it’s a totally different situation. You can bet “European fan favourite”, Mirela, was going to do poorly in Eurovision, because her song was really bad. A guaranteed 20th place (or even worse).

National jurors ranked Terra at last place. Honestly, I think they are just corrupted and that RTVE paid them to vote against Tanxu because RTVE is not fan of regional languages and they just want their songs to be in Spanish. Even their staging did not look as it should have. Shame for them if it is true, then there is no any justification for bad result in Turin. Their staging was not the best, but to be given the least number of points it has to do with something outside professional ranking while international jurors (including artistic director) gave… Read more »

Nobody knows this, you are talking based on an Internet fake. My guess (although it’s only a personal guess because, as I said, there is no public information about it) is that the expert on voice (a Spanish member of the jury) was the one giving only 7 points to Chanel, for obvious reasons. Therefore, all this theory about foreigners giving 10 and 12 to Tanxus and Spanish juries only 5 would make no sense. It’s the logical reasoning, but it’s easier to believe in Internet fakes and conspirational theories. Having said that, I think that jury voting to Tanxugueiras… Read more »

Amazing final! Well done Spain!!!

1) Terra
2) Calle de la llorería
3) Slo mo
4) Ay mama
5) Eco

I will be happy with any of this song to be selected

Maybe Terra could also win the contest with a strong staging

Spain has such strong final. wow! well done RTVE, next year it will be even bigger because of the festival’s impact to all the artists (big exposure, charting high on Spotify and Apple Music platforms, increase in followers).

Yes, and Rigoberta and Tanxugueiras top trending on Youtube with 1.6M views, and Chanel, who was previously an unknown for the big public, with over 900k views. Famous actors, journalists, politicians and influencers sharing their favourites. I guess we finally have a NF that is an event by itself.

  1. Rayden – Boring and uninteresting
  2. Tanxugueiras – Go_A on a budget, no thanks!
  3. Varry Brava – Simple and boring.
  4. Chanel – Efendi copycat
  5. Rigoberta Bandini – Awful, and the tit on stage? Embarrassing.
  6. Xeinn – Doesn’t perform well
  7. Gonzalo Hermida – It’s just a music video
  8. Blanca Paloma – BORING

Both really bad! Finland won’t qualify and Spain is last in the final, trash trash trash! I bet country like Russia or Azerbaijan will bring the winning act this year!

Exactly like lo malo, Spanish eurofans are the main reason Spain can’t do well in Eurovision, in May they will have a breakdown again that rigoberta came 25th

Lo Malo/Tu Cancion was the biggest WTF moment. Spain voted based on a love story and not the song itself. I guess the problem was to mix Eurovision with Operacion Trienfo.

Spain as regards Eurovision is 5 years behind Europe. Whatever we send it wont be something unoriginal and already seen. After many years of sending happy/catchy songs or meh ballads now they have already moved to songs with message or traditional songs (something never seen at Esc…).
The best choice would be Blanca Paloma by far because it is original and Spain is not ready to have its own voice in Eurovision.

As a non-spanish, i have to admit Spanish is a guity-pleasure-language. BUT that alone doesn’t say much to the european public, as we have already seen. With that being said, i really hope that y’all send what you think will mostly stand out, not in the sector of just a perfomance, but as a unique beat and melody. Take good advantage of the fact that you are gonna send something in yout mother language and upgade that to fit your expectations for Eurovision.

I’ll vote tonight for the song I genuinely love and that’s Ay Mama.
I can’t overthink it.
I would be happy as well if Terra or Secreto de Agua win.
Chanel is an amazing performer so I’d be glad as well.
I’m just going with the song and the moment

I think in general in Spain we know Chanel is the safer choice… but it doesn’t get to our hearts and souls as Rigoberta and Tanxus do. If Chanel wins, we will be supporting her like crazy, but it will be horrible if she does not get a good position. If Rigo/Tanxus go to Esc and they do not get a good position, we will still be proud of then, their messages and what they mean to us

Indeed. That’ the point.
If we send Chanel and Spain doesn’t get a good result. It would feel like a miss opportunity once again.
With Tanxus or Rigoberta is another story.

You should vote for whatever song you enjoy the most, that’s the point of having a national final. Good luck.

Pick literally anything other than Ay Mama… unless you want to stay in the bottom 5 again.

Sending Secreto en el agua would be amazing. However, realistically, Spain would get a better result at Eurovision with SloMo.

For your own sake, Spain, do not throw your chance down the toilet. Do not send such a lackluster song like Ay Mama.

Do it for your lover.

If Spain wants to show Europe a song genuinely Spanish it should be Blanca Paloma’s song. She shows perfectly the beauty of Spanish language and it sounds very traditional, from the heart of Spain. It’s no hard for me to see a top 5 position at the ESC.
However, Chanel is my favorite, is the only song that makes me move and probably this years BOP.

Contigo, Lo Malo, Nadie Se Salva. We had plenty of strong latino (or litetino) bops with hit potential lose in a podium in the NF and see the elected one peter out and struggle, as said bop becomes viral.

Take it Slo Mo, Spain. Don’t commit the same mistake (or hope others don’t commit them for you)

Alex

But Contigo WON the national final and it was the corrupted jury that voted for Do it for your love and ranked lower Contigo on purpose. It was an obvious rigged voting, when there is a tie, it’s the public’s favourite that wins, not the jury’s favourite.

Either Chanel or Tanxugueiras need to win. Chanel is a safe guaranteed top 15. Tanxugueiras are bit riskier but they could be top 5. Rigoberta will flop and come bottom 3 again. I like the song and love the message but this song only has the the chorus that non spanish people vibe with and it isnt enough.

Ivar

Tanxugueiras have the best and most interesting song by far, and the only one which will save Spain from another flop at Eurovision. But the “professional” Spanish jury members seem set on killing their chances.

Terra is interesting but very repetitive and could pull a Poland 2019 and do bad. The staging in Benidorm was awful and messy. I hope they fix it tonight but those dancers are cringy af!

Gonzalo will go in Turin, like that no wars between the fans. Tanxu stans, Chanel stans and Rigo stans are unbearable with each other, and it’s already ruining the party, so tomorrow whatever happens, it will be terrible after the show I fear…..so guys calm down it’s only music after all.
