As the dust settles on one Super Saturday and we brace ourselves for an even busier one next week, let’s reflect. We now have nine acts for Eurovision 2022 with Ireland, North Macedonia and Israel all entering the fray. But which act is your favourite so far? It’s time to vote!
Spain’s Chanel took gold in our most recent survey, but can she hold on in a more crowded field? You decide!
You can listen to the two new additions below. Then vote in our poll. Choose wisely, you can only vote ONE time. Voting is open until Friday 11 February. We will then relaunch the poll after the weekend to include all the new entries from Estonia, Latvia, Lithunaia and Lithuania.
Eurovision 2022 entries as of 6 February
New entries
Ireland: Brooke “That’s Rich”
Derry’s Brooke took victory in Ireland’s newly-revived Eurosong, beating out five other songs in special edition of the country’s flagship talkshow — The Late Late Show. “That’s Rich” proved to be popular with the international jury and the public watching at home, topping the vote with both camps. However, the domestic jury was less keen, placing the entry second to last.
North Macedonia: Andrea “Circles”
North Macedonia also returned to a national selection for the first time since Eurovision 2015. Za Evrosong 2022 saw six acts compete. After combining online public votes with those of the jury, two acts emerged on top — Viktor Apostolovski with “Superman” and Andrea with “Circles”. However, as Andrea had more jury votes, she’s the one going to Turin in accordance with the selection’s tiebreak rule.
Israel: Michael Ben David “I.M”
As has been the case since 2015, Israel used a talent show to select its act for Eurovision. However, this year the country went with The X Factor winner rather than The Next Star. Earlier in the week, we saw the four finalists present eight songs. These were reduced to four for the final, and by the time the credits rolled we Michael Ben David had come out on top with “I.M”.
Italy: Mahmood and Blanco “Brividi”
Italy’s iconic Sanremo Festival concluded its five night run on Saturday. And to almost no one’s surprise, Mahmood and Blanco took home the trophy. “Brividi” had topped the end-of-night rankings almost all week and was even charting inside Spotify’s global top ten. During the superfinal televote, they received almost 55% of all votes cast.
Other entries
- Albania: Ronela Hajati “Sekret”
- Bulgaria: Intelligent Music Project “Intention”
- Czech Republic: We Are Domi “Lights Off”
- Moldova: Zdob și Zdub and Frații Advahov “Trenulețul”
- Spain: Chanel with “SloMo”
Who is your favourite Eurovision 2022 act so far? (6 February)
Which entry is your favourite? Can any of them win the contest in May? Let us know in the comments.
North Macedonia will qualify!! Andrea is great! ??????
I think the Italian entry is good, but it will not win.
So far, I think Israel and Spain stand the best chance. But there are many more songs to come!
Well, I’m a little late to this, so here is my personal ranking.
1. Spain
2. Italy
3. Czech Republic
4. Albania
5. Ireland
6. Moldova
7. Israel
8. North Macedonia
9. Bulgaria
Y’all I’M is literally a carbon copy of “Girls Like”’by Tinie Tempah
Spain sent the best it could send, thank God it is not represented by three hysterical girls yelling at a scenario with two guys jumping around. This year they will not make a fool of themselves as they almost always do.
Italy 11/12
Czech Republic 8/12
Moldova 7/12
Albania 5/12
Spain 4,5/12
North Macedonia 3/12
Ireland 2/12
Israel 1/12
Italy is SO GOOD, but I am really scared how they will cut the song down into 3 minutes. It just flows so well as is, it does not have one single redundant or expandable segment.
I’m sure they know what they are doing, but this 3 min rule is just brutal and I’m worried.
yeah, I feel like having to abide by that rule is also what hurt Grande Amore in 2015. In fact, I can see this song doing about as well – hyped as a potential winner by fans, and ending around 3rd place overall.
I never liked Grande Amore and could never understand so much televote.
Italy, I don’t think we need anyone else to show up in Turin. Just let Mahmood and Blanco sing for 3 hours and give them the winners trophy
when they sing in falsetto it’s unbearable, it’s terrible, I can’t imagine listening to them for 3 hours… what a torture!!
I thought I would never say this but only Spain is a winner alert so far.
Italy and Albania are extremely overrated. Italy is nice but boring and Albania is a mess…
Czech Rep is good but generic, the rest are bad.
Lumix will represent Austria this year!!
Moldova’s entry irked me but now I appreciate what you mentioned about it. It’s admirable to have entries made with real instruments and in their national language, and that should be welcome 🙂
I think this year is the year of Spain, a very catchy song, wonderful choreography and brutal staging
1. Italy
2. Albania
3. Spain
Israel by far, the most powerful staging and performance, in turino it will be fire, Michael doesn’t come to play if you listen to the lyrics of his song he comes to take the crown, and he is not joking
Nice bait bro
Thank you for laugh. See you at last place in a few months.
1- Spain
2- Albania
3-Italy
4- Israel
5-Czech República
6-North Macedonia
7- Ireland
8- Moldova
9- Bulgaria
1. Spain
2. Italy
3. Czech Republic
4. Albania
5. Ireland
6. Moldova
7. North Macedonia
8. Israel
9. Bulgaria
33 more entries coming up, so it might become an other fantastic year. 1-10 Italy by far
11-20 Czechia, Irland ( hope she’ ll work hard on precision, get good banking and elaborate a good show)
21 – 26 Spain, Moldova,
27 – 41 N-Macedonia, Albania, Israel and Bulgaria
Italy , the best …
For now, I was expecting a higher level of quality. Yet Italy is the only contender, I enjoyed listening to Circles from North Macedonia and That’s Rich by Ireland, which 3 I voted. I wish better songs will come out soon. Love xx
People here saying brividi is overrated but on a lyrical level none of the other songs really come close.
1. Italy
2. Ireland
3. Albania
4. Spain
5. Czech republic
I don’t see anything particular about the lyrics of the Italian song at all, you speak as if it were a philosophical treatise and in reality it’s a constant repetition, and when they sing in falsetto it’s horrible, although it has a part that reminds me of the greatest hits of italian romantic song I do think it is completely overrated.
If we’re talking about lyrics, That’s Rich actually has better ones with a nice build-up
1. Albania (I think if another country sent this song, it would be much more famous, so I don’t want to leave it behind simply because of a nonexisting hype for the big 5 If it gets to the final, I’m voting for it)
2. Spain
3. Italy
4. North Macedonia
5. Ireland
6. Israel
7. Bulgaria
8. Moldova
9 Czechia (It reminds me of 2014. hits and I don’t like that. It has zero personality, nothing that tells me it is a Czech entry, and upon all of that, it’s outdate.)
For Czech Republic I would’ve preferred either Annabelle or Giudy, but now that’s just wishful thinking.
However, I think “Lights Off” is a better entry than those of Moldova, Bulgaria and Israel. idk if that’s enough for them to make it to the final, though.
My top 8 (not voting my own country, Spain):
1. Italy
2. Czech Republic
3. Albania
4. Moldova
5. Ireland
6. Israel
7. North Macedonia
8. Bulgaria
I wouldn’t be surprised if Italy won again. Brividi is great.
only Italy and Spain are good
MY TOP 9:
1 Israel
2 Irland
3
4

Italy is exremely overrated.
Greece’s song, it’s going to stay in Eurovision history, get ready people
Amanda is a fine artist, but we got the so-called Dream Team behind her entry, so I’ll be holding out for now
My Top 9:
My Top Ten (minus 1)
1. Czech Republic
2. Moldova
3. Ireland (with better staging only)
4. North Macedonia
5. Spain
6. Italy
7. Albania
8. Israel
9. Bulgaria
My Top 10:
Greece’s song it’s going to stay in Eurovision’s history. It’s epic, cinematic and deep and the most important original, Europe ist going to be shocked, trust me.
None. No interesting songs.
My top 9:
Brooke it is
My top 9 (not voting my own country Spain)
2. Albania
3. Moldova
4. Czech Republic
5. Italy
6. Ireland
7. Bulgaria
8. North Macedonia
9. Israel
Yes, i have cheated a bit.
I typically don’t fall all over the Italian entries—but lyrically, this song is on point and that chemistry onstage is spellbinding (and save your comments, I know one is straight…I’m speaking of chemistry between 2 artists)
I dont see that chemistry at all or I am not sure what do you mean by ‘chemistry’. It is a sad song, a song of farewell, splitting and they are smiling to each other, the one not singing is just walking around and lipsinging what the other is singing. There is no chemistry at all regarding what they are singing.
Italy is great but I feel like the fans get too crazy about this.
When Greece organized the contest Greek fans overhyped Anna Vissi’s song too. In the exact same way. Did they way, though? Once in a while, this happens. :-DD
My actual top 5: Israël, Spain, Albania, Cech Republic, Ireland.
Love Israel
czechia is still my number one
Until recently I was saying ‘we haven’t seen the winner yet’, I’ve stopped saying that since “Brividi” has been confirmed.
Italy.
Still waiting for my number 1 🙂 I was a big fan of ‘Ay mama’ and ‘Terra’ but I will give Chanel my 12 points (for now). She is a good performer, not a big fan of her song, maybe I just need a couple of beers 🙂
My top 9
1. Spain
2. Italy (but is growing on me)
3. Czech Republic
4. Albania (could grow on my with the final version)
5. Ireland
6. North Macedonia
7. Israel (sorry, but I don’t like it)
8. or 9. Moldova
9. or 8. Bulgaria
Moldova’s song is catchy but cheap and Bulgaria’s song is a well made but boring rock song. I can’t decide who should come last.
Italy went right to my first place, Israel right to my last place and Ireland and North Macedonia are sitting together on the middle of the table behind Czech Republic, Spain and the pre-revamp version of Albania.
Oh I’ve been confused about that too! I’ve always said Czech Republic, but Czechia sounds more homely to me.
So far, I would put Italy 1st, Spain 2nd, Czech Republic 3rd, Albania 4th, and Ireland 5th.
The ones on my playlist are- Czech Republic, Albania, North Macedonia and Spain.
I mean is that even a question?!!
Why has Greece rised in odds so much? Is there a leak or something?
A Greek Eurovision site claims that they listened the song ands it’s a contender for the win. They just hype the entry because they are besties with the people working for the broadcaster, they haven’t done any constructive criticism at all and they try to get views by hyping.
Are you for real? If I were any more suspicious than I am I’d think you are besties with those having an interest against ERT or I’d say in panic (pun intended).
If you do have suspicions just know that Deban also heard the song and many other bloggers and interviewers so that they can tell their opinion. That’s why Greece is so high those last hours. The release date is close so we won’t wait for too long!
I don’t doubt they heard the song. They are also friends with the “dream” team. I highly doubt their hyping and love of ERT and the people working there.
Hopefully the Greek song actually turns out to be really good and not disappointing
It must be rigged too, just like Spain.
Maybe just a reaction to the quality of the known entries. I haven’t heard anything that I consider a sure top 3.
My first is Italy with Czech republic not far behind.
Same for me.
Agree completely. Ba far the best two. 🙂
