Netherlands’ S10 has arrived in Turin for Eurovision 2022 first rehearsals. Today, she completed her first run-through of “De diepte” ahead of her semi-final in May. Is another Dutch victory on the cards, or is that vision lost in the deep? Let’s find out…

As has been a running theme with many rehearsals today, the Netherlands is bringing an element of darkness to first rehearsal. A vision in her custom Viktor & Rolf two-piece, S10 serves class and elegance. Her staging is subdued and simple, with S10 standing centre stage on a plinth surrounded by spotlights. Blanche’s “City Lights” comes to mind, and that paid off very well for Belgium in 2017. S10 has transposed the track to a higher key for the live version, showing off the upper range of her vocal capacity.

Jonathan: This is a classy first reheardal from the Netherlands. There’s some dark elements in there, relatively similar to Switzerland’s staging, but the warm amber tones do come through as well, and the wind machine bit is the best part of the clip.
William: I really love S10’s outfit. It’s almost broken and disjointed and that really fits with a song about being broken and piecing yourself back together. I also love that this sad song has an uplifting quality, even with dark staging.
Cinan: She looked so gorgeous. Even though we didn’t see a lot of the staging, I’m excited to watch the second rehearsal.

On YouTube is a rehearsel clip from Avro/Tros thats much better then on Tiktok.
Have they raised the key of the live music, or is that just because they had to compress the sound for TikTok distribution?
in clips from the national broadcaster the key is the same so I guess its just on tiktok
Hmm… it’s my 1st but I need to listen this live performance. I tend to dislike high pitched voices. Hope it doesn’t turn out to be too shouty.

I will say after she preformed it live on dutch TV, I wished the would’ve translated those horizontal red and blue lights into the Eurovision staging as well. That said, we barely saw anything during the rehearsals, I hope they do bring much more lighting and drama. Simple and elegant nonetheless

Everything seems on point here. And promising for a high spot in the Grand Final. Of course if we could see some more (and better) rehearsal footage we would have a clearer picture of what’s going on, but nevertheless it seems impeccable!
