Voting for this year’s ESC 250 — the annual countdown of fans’ favourite Eurovision songs — is on. Despite there being literally hundreds of songs to choose from, Sweden’s Loreen topped the rankings every year from 2012 with “Euphoria”. But then Spain’s Queen of Dance Chanel toppled Sweden’s star with her bop “SloMo” last year.

Of course, Loreen has now well and truly regained the Eurofan spotlight. In May she became the first and only woman to win Eurovision for a second time with her 2023 entry “Tattoo”.

Could that song — the favourite of the ESC juries but not the public — put her back on top? Or will she ride once more with “Euphoria”?

Well the 2023 edition of ESC 250 — organised once again by Songfestival.be — is here to answer exactly that.

Who will win ESC 250 2023?

Fans are already speculating about which Eurovision 2023 stars could be the one to unseat Chanel.

Looking at the charts following Eurovision, several acts at the top enjoyed both radio play and streams: Loreen, or course, but also televote winner Käärijä, Norway’s Alessandra and Israel’s Noa Kirel.

But let’s not forget Måneskin, who recently won the MTV EMAs for Best Rock Act and Best Italian Act

Chanel, meanwhile, has been relatively quiet. Will Spanish fans turn out en masse for their star, who still has the most-viewed performance of Eurovision 2022 on the official Eurovision YouTube channel?

We have to consider who will be voting in the poll. Typically, the voters are year-round Eurovision fans. How many of these people will switch their allegiances from past years in favour of a 2023 song? One important factor is that everyone has to vote for their top ten songs. So those who are voting purely to support their favourite may end up giving Loreen and Chanel some points regardless.

How to vote in ESC 250 2023

To vote, you need to register with either a Facebook, Google or Twitter account. After logging in, you will be presented with every Eurovision song since 1956, including the entries from the cancelled 2020 contest. Using drag and drop functionality, you pick a top ten using Eurovision’s iconic 12 point system. You can only vote once per account. Vote here.

The results of the poll will be revealed throughout New Year’s Eve, 31 December, on the online EFR12 Radio, beginning at 11:00 CET.

You can review last year’s results below.

What is your ranking? Who do you think will win? Could any other songs win? Let us know below.

I’m assuming it’s going to be a Cha Cha landslide…Loreen has gone from Eurovision legend to Eurovision villain because she dared to beat the fan favourite in Liverpool, plus because she has two songs now, her votes might get split. I think Chanel-mania has calmed down, so I don’t see her defending the title, unless certain fans organise a mass vote (as they did in 2022.)

Really hoping this will be the year of “Sing Little Birdie” though!

Loreen villain? Käärijä fan favourite?. In what world do u live?. Yeah I know a lot of people are saying the same, but, in world do all this people live?. First Loreen was the fan favourite not Käärijä. Loreen was N.1 in the odds all the season, with 40% to win btw march to may, and 50% in may. Käärijä only has 15-20% to win in all the season. Also Loreen won the Ogae poll, Eurojury, Poll in EurovisionWorld, Myscoreboard and Wiwibloggs. So the fan favourite always was her. Thats why all the people who were obsessed that she was… Read more »

If u think about it, Loreen had so many obstacles to face this ESC. I truly believe if the stars were aligned she would’ve gotten a much higher score and get 1st in televote. 1) She was in first half of the final, earliest winner since Turkey in 2003 (20 years) 2) Had the whole fandom go against her to disproportionally vote to Finland (which caused other favs to die in the televote) as a protest vote. 3) Pre-party drama with mic issues and silly videos questioning her abilities. 4) Character assassinations by other fans/contestants. 5) Staging couldn’t be replicated… Read more »

And I can’t help but LAUGH at the fact that fans downvote your comment! Haha! You are absolutely right! What started out as an anti-Loreen campaign, with fans claiming she won despite not being the “actual” winner, has turned into a sad, yet amusing, movement in which the same people fail to admit that Tattoo did become the big hit after the contest. The gap down to Cha Cha Cha is still increasing with 800 000 streams a day, half a year after the contest. Sweden won fair and square. Let’s just laugh at the poor whiners, shall we?

“Et Cetera” by Sinéad Mulvey & Black Daisy (Ireland 2009) will probably unseat Loreen/Chanel.

We can’t completely rule out the possibility that Loreen’s voters get split between Euphoria and Tattoo and someone else sneaks past her to the top, even if Chanel doesn’t retain.

Chanel Literally had one of the biggest hits in Spain this year with Clavaito, what do they mean with she’s been relatively quiet?

I have this feeling the Loreen fans are out for revenge after Chanel knocked her off the throne last year. But the Kaarija fanbase is very vocal and very organized, so he could sneak in if the votes for Euphoria and Tattoo get split down the middle

I think all of u think that Kaarija fanbase is bigger than actually is. Loreen still got the biggest fanbase in Eurovision community, and most of people realizased that she was the real winner thaks to the huge succesful of Tattoo. Chachacha wasnt as succesful because people voted for him to try to avoid Loreen victory.

I voted for Finland 2023 of course, Kaarija was robbed and deserved at least ESC TOP 250 win.

Kaarija was overhyped for the eurofans that didnt want Loreen winning again and also for the general publi who didnt know that 17 winners before Loreen, came back and compete again. Those people voted for Kaarija too to avoid Loreen victory.

So Kaarija would win ESC250 if he really has real support, but in this voting he is not going to have the help of the general public voting agains Loreen. Like in streamings platforms, thats why Tattoo is a hit and Chachacha dont

I’ve gotten really bored of cha cha cha recently it’s dropped off my playlist whereas everytime tattoo comes round on my playlist it’s lights up my day no matter what I’m doing even without the staging visuals loreen just kills it. Hence why it got my 12 for this years 250

Not interested, not interesting, it represents nothing, the number of votes is peanuts, just a pure eurofan obsessed thing totally useless, so next.

I can see this as a chance for aggrieved Finland fans to avenge the result in Liverpool. Cha Cha Cha will be number one, and this will be then used as vindication for claiming RIGGED. Sad.

Some people do. I never did. I agree the televote win was not FOR Finland, but AGAINST Sweden. Six wins versus one, a winner versus a newcomer etc. It should only ever be about the song. Everything else should be extraneous.

People were supporting the other fav because again they didnt want Loreen winning AGAIN. Thats not real support. Why those people who voted for him streamed his song? Why Tattoo is a huge hit in Europe and Chachacha didnt hit any country?. Here u have it

You’re always here to throw “it’s out of spite” accusations on everything that Käärijä won or has done, maybe you’re the only spiteful person here.

Jonas

Yeah… no. Sweden’s win has constantly been de-legitimized by some over the past six months. All I’m doing is defending Loreen and honoring her win. Finland deserved a great result, but just because they won the televote does NOT make Cha Cha Cha the “rightful” winner. That’s all I’m saying.

You’ve been downgrading anything Käärijä has achieved these past months, his song to being more watched video than Loreen’s or him winning EMA. All against Loreen, so let’s downgrade him by saying it’s all out of spite.

Having a sold out tour? Out of spite, every single thing.

Jonas

I don’t remember doing or saying any of that. I love Käärijä and I love Cha Cha Cha. I do not love the televote. I do not love anti-Swedish spite, but I do not in any way blame him for it. It is what it is.

Honestly so happy Cornelia is in the top 5, was my favorite from 2022. But I think if anything, Cha Cha Cha would be the one to beat Chanel instead of Tattoo. I think it would be Cha Cha Cha, SloMo, Euphoria, Hold Me Closer for the top 4 and maybe Tattoo top 10? Only because it came second in the televote so there is strong fan support but not nearly as much as Cha Cha Cha

It’s possible that Tattoo doesn’t win the poll but I’m very confident it will finish in the top 5, even top 3. Let’s not forget that the song now is a hit in a lot of countries.
It could be possible to see both Loreen’s songs in the top 3 along with Cha Cha Cha, but who’ll be first?
