Estonia’s selection for Eurovision 2024 is now well and truly on. All 20 of the competing songs in Eesti Laul 2024 have now been released for fans to take a listen to.

The 20 entries were originally set to be unveiled during a special TV programme on ETV, hosted by Grete Kuld and Tõnis Niinemets, on Friday evening. But after some of the songs dropped prematurely on streaming platforms, broadcaster ERR has now shared the full playlist.

You can listen to all the songs via the Raadio 2 website by clicking here.

Eesti Laul 2024 songs

Automatic finalists

  • Brother Apollo – “Bad Boy”
  • Carlos Ukareda – “Never Growing Up”
  • Daniel Levi – “Over the Moon”
  • Nele-Liis Vaiksoo – “Käte ümber jää”
  • Uudo Sepp & Sarah Murray – “Still Love”

Semi-finalists

  • 5MINNUST & Puuluup – “(nendest) narkootikumidest ei tea me (küll) midagi”
  • Anet Vaikmaa – “Serotoniin”
  • Antsud – “Vetevaim”
  • Cecilia – “FOMO”
  • Ewert and The Two Dragons – “Hold Me Now”
  • INGA – “No Dog On a Leash”
  • Ingmar – “Dreaming”
  • Laura – “Here’s Where I Draw the Line”
  • Multikas & Ewert Sundja – “Oblivion”
  • OLLIE – “My Friend”
  • Peter Põder – “Korra veel”
  • Silver Jusilo – “Lately”
  • Sofia Rubina – “Be Good”
  • Traffic – “Wunderbar”
  • YONNA – “I Don’t Know About You”

Eesti Laul has had a slight shake-up for 2024. Unlike last year — when there were two semi-finals — this year there will only be one. The preliminary event will take place on 20 January in the city of Tartu and features 15 of this year’s contestants.

The other change to the format is the presence of automatic qualifiers, who get to bypass the semi-final and go directly to the grand final on 17 February. Following the submission period, a “broad-based” jury consisting of 41 people chose the five automatic finalists.

Which song are you enjoying most on first listen? Who do you think has potential to win Eesti Laul 2024? Let us know in the comments below.

Okey, now I’ve listened to the 20 songs I’d say the level is not that bad. I don’t necessarily see an Eurovision winner here but some of them are pretty enjoyable- I like how Estonia keeps giving spotlight to some modern and indie songs. Though it is true the people who chose the finalists must be Ed Sheeran fans cause both “Still Love” and ” Over the Moon” sound similar and I don’t certainly know how those two are better than some of the semifinalists. I don’t know how many sports are there in the final but I’d want these… Read more »

What a perfect chance to correct last year’s mistake. Ollie’s song might be even better than Venom. Didn’t think he could do it but he did!
This might be the clearest decision of all the national final season this year. Don’t mess it up, Estonia. ^^

Most unique song of the selection for sure, maybe too unique for the Eesti Laul public as they always seem to choose safe pop songs/ballads. But it’s the best song of this years Eesti Laul so far

My top-3 are My Friend, Bad Boy and Over the Moon
OLLIE seems like the clear favorite here, I love My Friend even more than Venom, just a phenomenal artist
Estonia performing rock at Eurovision is something we’ve never had before
The best time for Estonia to send a rock song was last year, the second best time is now haha (I still love Alika to death tho)
May the best act win

Well, technically, we did have an Estonian band singing a rock song in 2005, but they were representing Switzerland, so it doesn’t really count as an Estonian entry haha

I wouldn’t say last year since there were three or for rock songs and they ended up cancelling each other out in the televote, but this year seems good due to first movers advantage!

Ok! It was long but I listened to all these songs several times and there are songs I personally like, Serotoniin, Bad boy, My friend, FOMO, Wunderbar, Over the moon, Dreaming. And there are songs I thought I’m gonna like at the beginning but finally not so much at the end, Never growing up, Lately, No dog on a leash, Here’s where I draw the line, they got potential but felt flat or too repetitive for my taste. So 7 songs out of 20 I like is not a bad selection for me now talking about potential for Eurovision is… Read more »

My opinion:

Top tier songs:
“FOMO” – Cecilia.
“Oblivion” – Cartoon, Ewert Sundja.
“Still Love” – Uudo Sepp, Sarah Murray.

Possible other good choices:
“No Dog On a Leash” – INGA.
“My Friend” – OLLIE.
“Over the Moon” – Daniel Levi.
“Never Growing Up” – Carlos Ukareda.

Special mention (I like them but I’m not sure about the general public):
“Hold Me Now” – Ewert and The Two Dragons.
“Lately” – Silver Jusilo.
“I Don’t Know About You” – YONNA.

Some other songs were interesting (Korra veel or Serotoniin for example) but definitely not strong enough.

Fomo and Dreaming and No dog on a leash are my picks. My prediction is that bad boy or dreaming will win. There are quite a few good songs in this selection but many sound more made for steeaming than live performance. We shall see…

Eesti Laul’s songs presentation was indeed a lu xuri ous experience. Well done ERT and artists!! Top notch production value, good to great songs, really nice hosts, high quality videos, artists and songwriters that seemed professional, humble in the best sense of the word, confident and of course talented. My top of the tops is Daniel Levi’s “Over the Moon”. I’ve listened to it already and it warmed my heart. Excellent song, I hope it will do very well!! My second is Anet Vaikmaa’s “Serotoniin”. Kind of classic song true to a certain era, it makes me happy. It does… Read more »

Why don’t we talk about how Ewert has managed to compete with TWO songs? It’s impressive, I haven’t seen somebody doing it in the NFs of any country. I hope he can win it, ESC is a perfect stage for indie musicians to thrive.

It’s rare but it’s not the first time it happens. Back in 2019 Monika Marija competed with 2 songs in the lithuanian selection and both songs were going to do a great result. She had to withdraw one of the 2 songs to compete with the other in the final. Sadly for her she didn’t win.

Ira Losco had 2 songs in the qualifying round at MESC in 2016. With the assumption that both had enough votes to qualify for the final, they picked the better song to advance. Of course, after she won, they didn’t use that song, either, for Eurovision.

Oh, Ira. Hopefully it was worth ditching her own, better song for a Melfest reject to score all those juries points. The televote didn’t like it one bit. Neither did I. Still like Chameleon, though. Her chameleon, not the 2019 one.

A lot of people are trashing on EL this year. However, I think the selection is rather strong since it’s telling that most of them are of a good or decent quality. Apart from Bad Boy, the automatic finalists are a bit of a head scratcher, however I know some really good songs from the semi finals will make it. We haven’t seen any of them with their song live yet so it could all change but Cecilia’s song FOMO pops out the most with its loud dancey race-like lines that remind me of a certain Danish rave song from… Read more »

FOMO is a guaranteed crowd pleaser, I can see the live audience going crazy for it like for “Cha Cha Cha”. It has a very similar eurotrash party vibe. The only concern I have for it is how it will sound live. That might ruin it.

I believe Cecilia tried to compete in 2020 or some year that but EL didn’t happen or her song was rejected, despite being a good song and her having a great voice. A lot of people were upset. FOMO is also is that kind of banger you wouldn’t hear in THIS contest!

Regarding Bad Boy, it seems like a decent song and people really want Estonia to send a rock entry like last year, so My Friend or Bad Boy are the best songs for that!

I see the ESC community is underestimating Ewert & the Two Dragons, they are quite established and popular in the Baltics, so I would guess they are one of the main contenders.

Finished listening to most of them, these are the ones that caught my attention:
Brother Apollo – “Bad Boy”
OLLIE – “My Friend”
Traffic – “Wunderbar”
Daniel Levi – “Over The Moon”
Multikas & Ewert Sundja – “Oblivion”
Cecilia – “FOMO”

Honorable mentions (risky choices):
Antsud – “Vetevaim”
Anet Vaikmaa – “Serotoniin”
Peter Põder – “Korra veel”
YONNA – “I don’t know about you”
5MINNUST & Puuluup – Crazy Estonian bop (kinda like it tho)

Most of the others were enjoyable, but not too memorable or interesting
