In November The Sun claimed that Years and Years frontman Olly Alexander was in advanced discussions to sing for the U.K. at Eurovision — and with a song from Dua Lipa.
And on Saturday night Olly confirmed that he will in fact represent the U.K. at the song contest in Malmö.
“I love Eurovision so much, it’s a dream come true,” he told host Claudia Winkleman during the voting interval of the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing finale. “I’m just so, so excited.”
In a press release, he added: “I really can’t believe I’m going to be a part of such a special legacy and fly the flag for the UK in the gayest way possible.”
“I’m determined to give it everything I’ve got and put on an excellent and unforgettable performance for you all!”

The Sun‘s November report claimed that his song was a collab with Danny L Harle, who worked on Dua’s “Houdini” and Charli XCX’s “Anthems,” among others. On Saturday the BBC confirmed that is also true.
Writing on Instagram, Olly conveyed his enthusiasm for Eurovision and framed it as an opportunity to start releasing solo music under his own name. Since 2021 he’s been the sole remaining member of the group, but still released songs as Years and Years.
“This was very difficult to keep quiet omg!! so excited to announce that I’m the UK’s Eurovision entry for 2024!”
“I’ve wanted to do this for a long long time and it feels like the right moment to start releasing music under my own name. I’m determined to give it everything I’ve got. i shall put on an excellent and unforgettable performance for you all!! let’s do this!!!”

BBC viewers will remember that Olly has a long-standing relationship with the corporation. He helped ring in 2022 as the star of the BBC’s annual New Year’s Eve broadcast, performing a series of his hits in the build-up to midnight. He also duetted with Kylie Minogue.
Olly has earned five UK top 10 singles and two number one albums over the past decade with Years and Years. As the BBC reports, the group has also hit the charts in Belgium, Ireland, Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands and Sweden — all of which vote at Eurovision.
BBC Press Release on Olly’s Eurovision Participation
One of the world’s most pioneering and multi-award winning music superstars, Olly Alexander, will represent the United Kingdom at the 68th Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö, Sweden in May 2024.
Olly revealed the news during the Grand Final of BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing on Saturday 16 December to a delighted studio audience and to the millions of viewers watching at home.
As he embarks on the first release under his own name, Olly Alexander remains one of the world’s most trailblazing modern pop stars. Across three hugely successful albums to date, the singer, actor and fashion icon has scored 2 #1 UK albums, 10 UK Top 40 singles and was recently awarded the BRIT Billion Award (with 6.5 billion streams globally). With Years & Years evolving into a solo project and, in 2024, a brand new solo era, Olly has become a once-in-a-generation voice: the Russell T Davies show ‘It’s A Sin’ won Best New Drama at the National Television Awards, with Olly also nominated for Leading Actor at the 2022 BAFTA Television Awards.

Having headlined arenas and festivals worldwide – not to mention collaborating with the likes of Sir Elton John, Kylie, and Pet Shop Boys – Olly Alexander’s icon-status recently saw him immortalised at Madame Tussauds London: a fitting home for a pop star who has helped change British culture forever, and now represents the UK on the Eurovision stage.
Olly Alexander says: “I’ve loved watching Eurovision ever since I was a little kid and I’m beyond excited to be taking part next year. As a young boy I always looked forward to this incredible event of unbridled joy, the wonderfully chaotic mix of musical styles, theatrical performances, heartfelt emotion and humour. I really can’t believe I’m going to be a part of such a special legacy and fly the flag for the UK in the gayest way possible, it shall be an honour! I’ve wanted to do this for a long time and it feels like the right moment to start releasing music under my own name. I’m determined to give it everything I’ve got and put on an excellent and unforgettable performance for you all!”
Ben Mortimer, President Polydor Records says: “Polydor, as the British home of ABBA and Loreen, have a deep connection with Sweden and Eurovision. And, we also have a deep connection with the trailblazing, cultural force that is Olly Alexander, who we have worked with for almost ten years. He is quite simply an incredible talent who we are convinced will make a huge impact for the UK in this year’s competition. We are proud to be supporting him in his bid for Eurovision success.”
Kalpna Patel-Knight, Head of Entertainment at the BBC says: “To have an artist of Olly Alexander’s calibre representing the UK in Malmö in 2024 is testament to just how much the BBC wants to keep momentum of Eurovision riding high since the UK had the honour of hosting the contest on behalf of Ukraine in Liverpool earlier this year. Olly is the perfect ambassador for the UK as both an immensely talented and world renowned artist and passionate fan of the competition.”
Suzy Lamb, MD of Entertainment & Music at BBC Studios, says: “BBC Studios is so excited to be working with the incredible Olly Alexander to create something very special for the UK at Eurovision. Olly is a world class, charismatic performer and we can’t wait for him to raise the roof at next year’s contest in Sweden.”
All three live Eurovision 2024 programmes – both Semi Finals and the Grand Final – will be broadcast on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on 7, 9 and 11 May 2024.
Olly’s UK Eurovision song, co-written with Danny L Harle, will be revealed in due course.
The BBC’s Eurovision Song Contest 2024 coverage is a BBC Studios Entertainment production, commissioned by Kalpna Patel-Knight, Head of Entertainment at the BBC. The Executive Producers are Andrew Cartmell and Lee Smithurst. The Creative Director for BBC Studios Entertainment North is Pete Ogden and Suzy Lamb is the Managing Director of Entertainment & Music at BBC Studios. Years & Years Perform ‘King’ (LIVE) | YouTube Pride 2021
can we stop with the “he cant sing live” comments
there’s plenty of clips of his live vocals available
he may not be a Sam Ryder belter but he can hold his own
BBC. calls him ‘One of the world’s most pioneering and multi-award winning music superstars’ but he has only 700.000 followers…. on Instagram, Sam Ryder has millions. Nevertheless I hope he will surprise me with his song, good luck.
Years and Years have had two number one albums in the UK and sold 2.5 million records worldwide, I don’t think number of followers on Instagram is necessarily the number one indicator of success.
It could be it, was an indication in Sam’s case, together with his huge TikTok following. I’m not in love with Ollie’s voice, but maybe his song is going to surprise me.
I can’t see olly winning. He is too pop music. Eurovision is moving into the crazier side and more ethnic side of music. Kaarija will spark a transition this year which won’t include a normal pop tune.
I wish him well though
Having Dan Harle involved makes me very curious for the type of song UK is going to have.
Seems like the UK is reaching the heights of Italy and Sweden if we keep this up, 2nd in ESC 2022, 5th in JESC 2022, (Mae Muller would have probably been kind of lower top 10 with better vocals and running order), And 4th in JESC 2023, so 3 out of 4 of our recent ESC / JESC entries have been top 5
Keep in mind the BBC chose her spot.
They did? I thought the whole point of picking the host’s spot separately is to avoid giving the broadcaster any say in the matter.
Come to think of it, the luck of the random draw for first half decided that Romania wouldn’t be last and San Marino would be because Romania performed earlier. How stupid is that? When you both get 0, you should both be last. Imagine two countries get 0 and are drawn in the same half. Then, the producers actually decide the ranking. So many stupid aspects of the EBU rules, it never ends. lol
Ofc no need to imagine, it already happened. Still stupid imo.
Same in 2015 with Austria and Germany? At least let them share the ignominy, it is kinder. Ann Sophie should sue.
Wasn’t it picked out of a hat along with Ukraine?
Oh no. No blame on the running order. Song and singer were awful, that’s all there is to it.
The song was decent though, performed well it would have done much better, the Eurovision Scoreboard app had it in the top 10 consistently till we heard the vocals.
I disliked it the first time I listened to it, the vocals just made it even worse for me. I don’t even know the app but I believe juries and televote got that one equally right. They were bound to get something right.
A stopped clock is correct twice a day?
Indeed. Good job, clock.
Mae Muller had zero energy, terrible outfit, looked and danced like a 50 yo amateur, plus when you add her terrible live singing to that (not just in the Grand ESC final, but her live in general), it’s success she didn’t finish last!
It wasn’t the running order it simply wasn’t a good enough . I am not sure about Ollie I need to hear his song first before I can judge his vocals.
Doesn’t matter how good he is If the song is weak We will flop
and you know that because…?
It’s this same kind of tired narrative we’re still hearing in the UK where no matter how well we do or who we send people will still sat “hur dur UK last nul points.” I don’t see that in other countries tbh. The next person I hear say that is gonna suffer some kind of grievous bodily harm because I’m just so sick of hearing it now.
Because itid1878 s common sense if the song is crap the uk will flop
This is great news from the UK!
OMG, at first I thought the rumours were far-fetched, but I’m over the moon now that they turned out to be true! Olly is a great choice for the UK, I love Years and Years since I was a teen.
I always thought he’d be suitable for the contest, so I’m looking forward to seeing what he’s got in store! 😀
Also, you can tell he’s enthusiastic about taking part of the contest 🙂
I am happy for him, it’s his dream come true. I look forward to listening to the song. 🙂
Did anyone notice that standing directly him when he was making his announcement was Angela Rippon the presenter of Eurovision 1977!
That’s crazy! I didn’t know she hosted then! And it was the year after Brotherhood of Man had won! She also hosted the original edition of ‘Come Dancing’ which is what inspired Strictly, which is why she was on the show in the first place!
Hear hear!
He will flop and fandom will say
1) vocals weren’t good
2) song not as good as his other songs
3) no longer in his prime (2015)
His vocals will be better than Mae’s and we’ll get a higher result.
Thank you Sam Ryder for ending our flop era at Eurovision <3
Fantastic choice for the UK. Can’t wait to hear the song. Good luck to him!
His music is not for my personal taste but this is an exceptional get for the BBC. I really thought the UK had squandered Sam Ryder’s momentum with last year’s result but getting Ollie can go a long way to getting them back on-track.
“Oll” the best to the UK! Time for a bop!
I wish Olly Alexander the very best of luck in Sweden and I am curious to hear his song
I think this is the first time the UK sending an establish artist in the prime sense the 70s.
If Estonian Ollie doesn’t make it, we still get the British one haha
Great news, seems like the UK wanna get back on track, 2024 season keeps getting better
Good. So please stop overhyping that unimpressive Estonian act when in reality there are way better options for Estonia to send this year.
Estonia can only wish to have better options. Ollie is generic for his genre, but the other songs are too generic in general. At least Ollie sings mainstream post grunge, not a sound you find often on ESC.
5miinust and Puuluup are generic?
They are Estonia’s only option to get a good result and that’s because they are not generic.
Cecilia’s song is the only one that stood out from the get go for me.
This is amazing
I saw him life in Untold in Romania and finally UK sends someone who has amazing life vocals (like Sam also did). I hope the song is good. If it is it will sweep northern and Western Europe’s 12s.
However he is very obvious gay and this may turn away the main stream voters in Eastern Europe. Boy I hope I am wrong I love him.
In any case amazing choice UK now match it with amazing song and we will have a fan favourite ??
Gustaph managed to reach the top ten because he had a large LGBTQ+ vote helping him. Olly will most likely have the same.
Don’t forget Gustaph’s awesome live vocals as well. 🙂
He reached the top mainly because of the jury which awarded him 127 points. The public gave him 55 points.
I would have thought the same about eastern Europe some years ago but look, Belgium received the 12 points from Georgian jury last year and this was the biggest urprise of the night for me. But it’s true that it is a bit different with the public where Gustaph only received points from Northern and Western European countries (+ Slovenia and Australia).
I will say also that despite the demographic he was attempting to win over, he ended up getting the family vote like Poland and Albania because his voice was jazzy and obviously on a different category to some of the more contemporary singers. And behind the scenes it wasn’t all blood and glitter for him.
“Gay” and “family” votes are not mutually exclusive.
ermm… Conchita, hello???
The world has moved backwards in the decade since Conchita won. Sad.
This is pretty exciting, Years and Years first album was pretty big here in NL and I remember that back then I thought “King” would be a great Eurovision song. So I feel Olly really has the potential to come up with something great. And also his acting in “It’s a sin” was fantastic btw, very touching series.
Got shivers! Well done UK, exciting times.
“fly the flag for the UK in the gayest way possible” I think scooch already did that hehe
it isn’t about music anymore this silly contest it is all about the show around the performance, the UK is gonna give the predictable fandom what they want
Are you really referencing an established artist who has years of experience, five top ten hits, sell out concerts and fans all over Europe???
And what’s wrong with giving fans what hey want?
which artist will he bang, maybe Mustii
You’re as disgusting as Bejba.
Or the other way around? Belgium has a much better Eurovision track record than the UK. I never heard of Olli and best of luck to him, but his song needs to be original and better than Sam’s that’s a challenge.
I am going to go on a happy rant about this because I am honestly in disbelief. Absolutely delighted with this news as this is exactly what the UK needed. After making great progress last year while hosting the contest, Mae’s result certainly seemed like a bump in the road along a good trajectory. I too was somewhat worried when TaP Music ended their partnership with Eurovision by handing the baton back to the BBC, worrying that they’d be going back to the 2015-2021 years and undoing all their progress. That was until I heard that they had done their… Read more »
I suppose this resonates even more with me as an Irish Eurovision fan (yes, I am ashamed too). Funnily enough I became a fan in 2014, meaning that I have only seen my country qualify for the final once (and it was so surreal when it happened seeing as no one thought it was going through). Back in 2014, the aforementioned political excuse was still somewhat echoing around western Europe, although to a lesser degree than the 2000s. Though nowadays, seeing as the likes of France, Portugal, Switzerland, Spain and the UK have all made strides to better themselves at… Read more »
Ireland’s 2014 and 2022 should have qualified and 2023 had good staging. 2022 should have been a hit!
Ireland have a load of great dance acts such as Jazzy, perhaps internally select one of them
I mean, we already got a 2nd place entry and a chance to host last year – so we’re back on track. Also, there were a bunch of songs that we sent which weren’t the worse that should have done better, especially 2017 that it’s hard for people to explain other than politics. Ukraine got a large televote due to sympathy points a few years ago so it defo Italy still exists but it’s definitely less of a barrier or mental threat for us.
ethnic banger incoming from the UK with this A-Lister king of the LGBTQIA community!!!!!!
His music and voice are not my cup of tea.. but goodluck anyway..
Thank you for being the rare person who can simply say” not my thing but good luck” without being an utter bitch and taking every random opportunity to criticise. I respect you for that
But tbh I do think that British fans are too offensive towards anyone who writes any comment other than positive about their representatives. If you don’t write something good you’ll be marked as “British hater” or if you say you are afraid for his live vocals they’ll attack you with “No, he can sing very well!”. You’re literally becoming worse than Spanish fans.
Don’t worry, Olly will get plenty of haters from a different field…
Never heard of him… he’s nobody outside of Anglo-Saxon/Germanic centric world…
ok…
Well nobody had ever heard of Käärijä outside Finland either before the ESC, so what’s your point?
Olly is more ethnic than Kaarija (nonsense finnish language)
And Kaarija wasn’t hyped even before anybody heard the song, as some international A-list superstar… if this dude was popular in UK and maybe idk Denmark that doesn’t mean he’s famous all around the world as he was presented…
He is though…
OK, I kinda get what you mean. Indeed the way the BBC is banging the drum on him being “world-renowned” is a bit much and by no means a guarantee for success. While I meant to say that him being unknown in many countries is not a disadvantage either. It is true though that he has performed on really big international stages so he does have experience.
This is a really great get by the BBC! well done to everyone who made it happen. And, to Olly for being happy to represent!
Troye Sivan for Australia!
Loved Years & Years since I saw them perform at SXSW many moons ago. I have no sense of what his music sounds like nowadays that he’s on his own. I hope the BBC heard the track and is not just picking an artist because he’s a name. Best of luck to them.
One thing to note is that The UK will be very soon the country with the most bets on it overpassing Israel. Who dares to bet for Eurovision 2024, we’re still in 2023…. moreover the 2 most betted countries now have not even yet a song….totally crazy these gamblers, I follow a bit the market and since The UK announcement nearly 1000 livres sterling have been betted it’s peanuts but enough to make move the bookies and the market at this time of the year.
YAAAAAASSSS QUEEEEEEN!!!!!!
Another TransGender Gimmik This Time From United Kingdoms …. They Are In Race For The Last Place
Transgender? Who said he’s trans? And what does the gender or the sexuality have to do with the result? 2019, 2021 and 2023 had all LGBTQ winner, while no LGBTQ participant finished last those years… + Olly has been successful for years with years and years. There is no chance he’s gonna come last. Eurovision is far more open towards LGBTQ than you btw You still did not answer my question. What did the LGBTQ community, especially those who are gay, to you, that you’re so conservative? Or are you a 70-years old fascist? Seriously, get a live instead of… Read more »

I get what you’re saying g but he ain’t trans!
Wait Two Years And He Probaly Will Be . Too Much Mikroplastik
This is some very good news! I have to admit that I am not the biggest fan of Years & Years and I don’t know how Olly could adjust into a Eurovision perfomance, but there is seems to be a big plan from BBC. The positivity for this year’s Eurovision is really coming from the names announced so far. Of course we don’t have any songs yet, but the fact that France, U.K, Slovenia , Greece -and probably Italy- will be represented by some of the biggest names in their countries (something that they didn’t happen at all for maaany… Read more »
Sounds generic but good luck
His song isn’t even out yet ??
His style and voice…its ok
First Raiven, now this… all these announcements sound promising. But they mean nothing yet without songs to back it up. But so far, it looks like it’s shaping up to be quite a year. And it should be. Liverpool was such a weak edition, there should be like ten or at least five real contenders in Malmö to make up for that. Ten is delusional, I know. But five would be nice.
That’s Just what I was thinking. Compared to the years before, and especially 2021, both Turin and Liverpool were pretty weak editions when it came to the songs. But so far, 2024 is shaping up to become very enjoyable.
I personally enjoyed the last few years.
The BBC could not have found a bigger place for this announcement, the interval of the Strictly final. A good sign that they’re taking it seriously.
Indeed. Either that, or it was entirely Olly’s idea. 🙂
Nah, the media release was issued way too soon after the announcement for him to have caught the BBC on the hop with it. It was planned.
Layton & Nikita to be his dancers in Malmo??? wouldn’t be too surprised about that lmao
Give him Bobby and all of Europe will go wild!
Fiona Bruce could have announced it during Question Time
Well done, BBC! This is amazing news for all of Eurovision. Hopefully he’ll be able to get UK a Sam Ryder-ish result.
though I am not a Brit, this is probably the first time that I already knew the artist selected for Eurovision before being selected. first knowing him through the track “Gold” that is featured as one of the FIFA 16 soundtracks. unfortunately, another UK artist I know from FIFA, John Newman, with “Love Me Again” from FIFA 14, has not been selected as of 2024, while his brother James was for 2020 & 2021 despite being more of a songwriter and less of a performer. Hopefully Olly’s Eurovision song will be decent enough and its staging will be incredible +… Read more »
Olly for The UK and Ollie for Estonia, let’s go 😉
We need a third one to make the “Olly, Olly, Olly,” chant manifest into reality 😀
The Italian Olly, singing “Polvore” in SanRemo back in February
(M)olly Sterling
I’d really like to see Molly back at ESC, for sure. Plus the piano, of course!
Polly Genova
This is really promising for the UK! Ollie is a good singer, great performer, relatively recognisable outside of the UK… With a good song, this whole package could deliver something great! I’m intrigued.
Relatively… Very relatively.
I’m outside of the U.K and I’ve never heard of him.
Well, he’s in the band Years&Years – they have a few recognisable songs, but it’s possible not to know Olly by name. He is also an actor with a fantastic breakthrough role in Russel T. Davies’ miniseries “It’s a Sin.”
So he isn’t an unknown name, I’d say especially in lgbt circles.
It’s a sin is how I first heard Olly’s name, as an actor first.
The song “King” by his band has over half a billion streams on Spotify and I’ve definitely heard it played on the radio etc. (I’m not from the UK). So I think at least some of the Eurovision audience might know him 🙂
Whether or not that will help him with points is not at all certain.
Absolutely flabbergasted! Really appreciate the BBC announcing him much earlier than usual and in such a way. I’d argue that Olly is bigger than Blue as their peak was in the 00s and they came back after a hiatus. Olly is still very much in his prime.
Oh wow, what a surprise!! UK rarely announces their act this early on. I think they must have got something special, at least that’s what I hope for. I like his song “King”, but I’m hoping it’s not one of those one hit wonder artists that flop at Eurovision..
He better start finding a way to improve his live vocals or it will be like UK 2023. I never find a good KING live performance.
At least he’s better than Mae!
I agree, there’s definitely some homework to do. But it looks manageable. It’s not like he doesn’t hit the notes.
There are tons of good sanctify / desire performances tho. So I guess it’s rather a question of song. I hope he will be at ease with his ESC song
He can hold a tune, so I’m not worried of a Mae.2. What he lacks is range, so that does concern me in a competitive song competition. I know he will bring his A game to the stage performance. All down to the song which we can speculate will be a Dua Lipa style modern disco-esque song. La Zarra, a fan fave came 16th last year with a Dua song.
Arrfff La Zarra, I’ve still not recovered from my sadness seeing her results…. killed by the running order, as Teya and Salena by the way, thank you Twan I will never forget.
La Zarra was not killed by the running order. Maro in 2022 got a top10 result while performing 3rd, so even earlier. Subwoolfers top10 also performing 7th.
The opening spot is very complicated, but the spots after can give you a decent result.
The jury and audience just didn’t vibe with La Zarra.
She looked so uncomfortable on the tower on stage, I don’t think it was the running order, her performance simply wasn’t good enough.
They really sprung that surprise on us randomly without revealing the song lol! But seriously, the rumours were true! Must have been an open secret! Olly should do better than Mae Muller. He’s a good live singer and this writer sounds like a good song could be created. I wish him the best.
Do we have to know olly Alexander?
Of course not, but this is your chance to get to know him. Seize it.
My chance to know him? Why? IS him that interesting?
You can be the judge of that for yourself. If he is not for you, that is also allowed.
Yes. He is most known for being the singer of Years & Years. The album communion is a gem.
He’s the lead the singer of ‘Years and Years’ who had a top hit with the song ‘King’ in 2015.
Wow
According to the downvotes It seems we have to know Who this Ollie Alexander person IS.
William told you who he is in the above article. Perhaps actually reading it is too much to ask of you. Sad.
Why “he”? Use your pronouns right please.
His band Years & Years has scored a couple of pretty big hits, so it would not be strange if you knew him. And imho they’ve had a couple of songs with great Eurovision potential, so I find this promising for the UK. Although sending a big name doesn’t mean success guaranteed of course.
Oh yeah, and if you have the chance to watch “It’s a sin”, do it! It’s a fantastic series and his acting is really good. Keep a handkerchief ready btw.
Exciting!
“The gayest way possible”
Hopefully we will FINALLY get some pronoun inclusion in the lyrics!
Pronoun inclusión meaning what?
Inclusion of pronouns.
We’ve never heard that in a gay song in all 67 years of the contest. Except for maybe Brividi but only sorta kinda. Think Switzerland 2019, but now called He Got Me.
Inclusion of pronouns? IS that a new Eurovision freakness? What the hell IS inclusion of pronouns?? Are pronouns not included? Is ‘them’ or ‘us’ excluded from English gramnar?
Forget it.
Isnt It a bit weird that we can discuss pronouns in here but i cannot write the f Word? Specially considering that most normal gay people practise more the f Word than the pronouns crap.
Speaking of freedom, inclusion and my ass. That is
It’s some woke bs
Do we need it though? Isn’t him happening to be gay and a Eurovision singer enough?
I don’t know if we NEED it, but I WANT it. Once in 67 years is not too much to ask. Up to now, the “gay” has always been dialled down so as not to frighten the heteros. This time I’d like it dialled UP, please.
Gay something used to frighten héteros. Are we in the 80s or something?
Most gay people dont want to make a big song and dance about it. It actually leads to more stereotypes and exclusions.
They don’t want to make a song and dance about it… at a song (and dance) contest
?
Anyway, you are misunderstanding my point. A simple thing like the inclusion of pronouns is the exact opposite of making a big deal of it. All it is is incidental, which up to now has been too much to ask for. No grand razzle dazzle or drag or rainbows, just a mere he/him.
It is quite stupid to point out that “his” pronouns are he/him. He IS a Guy and both traditionally and grammtically “his” pronouns are he/him. Why is It so necessary to point out the evident?
YOU HAVE MISSED THE WHOLE POINT.
I am talking about the lyrics of the song. Who is singing to, or singing about.
“The pronoun song” by Ollie Alexander might be quite educational.
I’m gay and I have no idea what are you talking about lmao
A song about gay men. That is all. A gay booty hypnotic. Where they are not afraid to let the lyrics show that is about two men. Using pronouns like he, or words like boy, man, or whatever. Something you would know was gay without the visuals. Even the gayest acts like Conchita have nothing overtly gay in the lyrics, meanwhile hetero acts are never afraid to use pronouns, or have some dirty dancing like Switzerland 2019.
woke non sense
w oke nonsense
Sure. Duncan Laurence and others have always been so careful to make their lyrics gender neutral, terrified that people like you will be alienated. It really is time that we stopped caring what you think.
Arcade could be about a man or a woman, nobody knows. Something like Duncan’s Skyboy would be much better to serve my purpose.
You are the only Who cares if It is about a man or a woman .. i know that gay saunas are a bit meh in uK but dont you have Grindr??
Stop downvoting me. I am gay and I have sex. Dont you have Grindr or what?
interesting, i hope his song won’t be as bland as dua lipa’s new single (literally sounds like a future nostalgia song that was rejected for all the right reasons), and that he won’t make being gay his entire personality lol. other than that exciting choice for the uk especially thinking about the randos they were sending until three years ago!
That condescension…
woke
So now that you’ve learned a new word you’re happy then you will use it in every comment sections here, great, bravissimo. Get a life.
His live vocals are weak. He needs to work a lot to not end up like Mae.
I don’t know, I watched his live performance from Strictly and sounded quite good.
I’ve heard him before and he’s nowhere near as bad as Mae.
Olly is an OK vocalist. Nowhere near Mae lol
People have questioned his vocals live but there are plenty of live clips on you tube and he does just fine. And I’m pretty confident, if the song has been written for him, it will be one he can carry.
It’s something I’m a little bit concerned about, I’ve seen him sound very flat, but these clips were concerts. Singing at Eurovision will be very different to be fair.
I agree with your last sentence, I’ve noticed I’m not the only one commenting about possible weak vocals, I’m wondering if there’s just a lot of anxiety after Mae’s vocals last year.
